Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this sunny (and, if anything like yesterday, windy and cold enough to cut through any kind of jacket/sweater you are wearing - making it really hard to want to be outside) Sunday morning? Was out a bit yesterday for a family birthday but declared that it is finally time to binge watch "Hudson and Rex". There are four seasons of this show available on UpTV Faith and Family - and yes, it's time for me to finally watch it all the way through. I've been meaning to for a long time. Are new seasons of this show still in progress? How many total seasons are there at this point? Canadians - do you know? I mean... look at that beautiful German Shepherd face! How did I manage to wait this long? And his name in the credits is "Diesel Vom Burginwald". Such a German- sounding name for the German Shepherd canine-actor who plays Rex. Yes, I'll enjoy this watch. But when will I find the TIME? So much new TV finally making its way back onto the schedule, some of which I will have no choice but to on-demand if I want to keep up with. Thank goodness cloud DVRs and streaming sites make on-demanding stuff easy. Let's start this week's TV watch with: Sunday, February 18th Where do I begin? Sunday is suddenly overloaded.
Now to the actual "live chat" shows, which ALSO have a conflict! "Tracker: Missoula", Season 1 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS Colter tracks down a missing young man who has been pulled into a deadly cult and doesn't want to be found. I enjoyed the first episode (I must have; I watched it twice). So I plan to continue for a while. But sadly, it competes with ..... "The Way Home: Wake Me UP When September Ends", Season 2 episode 4, 9 pm on Hallmark Sidenote: Song reference in the title! WM? I expect artist, year it was released and all the pertinent details as you are so good at providing with song titles. For the record, I'm only required to know the late fifties, sixties and seventies; younger posters like whimsicali, JustGreg and watchedeveryepisode take care of the twenty-first century. Now let's deal with the shocking part: YOU'RE a fan of punk legends Green Day and their classic C.D. (they weren't called "albums" then) "American Idiot"? WTH?? Alice reevaluates the past and her friendship with Elliot; Kat discovers that history is told by the winners; Del questions the stories she tells herself. I am seriously obsessed with this interesting and twisty story. So the question is, do we have anyone besides Ali and I who will want to watch and chat "Tracker". If so, I say we watch it at 9 pm, then DVR "The Way Home" so that it is on-demandable at 10 pm. Or should we do that the other way around? Ali? Do you have an opinion? Monday, February 19th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 6, 8 pm on ABC Joey and the 10 remaining women head to Montreal; nerves run high for all as hometowns inch closer; Joey goes on two one-on-one dates; the remaining women push through their insecurities on a group date. Montreal! The best place to fall in love in Canada (well no, Niagara Falls is, but you can bet that quote will be made at least once. Perhaps in completely mangled French? Jess Palmer! You're a Canadian! Which means you are required to speak both official languages if you want to host a network TV show. If francophone Karine Vanesse could do it for "Traitors Canada", you must too! The ball is in your court. And fine: we'll take it easy on you and not insist you dress in some bizarre, freakishly wide-shouldered outfit #KarineHumour) And if they don't go to Schwart's Deli for smoked meat on at least one of the one-on-one date, there will be rioting on the streets of Quebec. And THIS time, producers, you damned well BETTER let them eat the food! Don't just let it sit there untouched in front of them! Australian Survivor Week 4 - Episodes 10 -12 I'm sure I'll be doing this on my wide-open Monday (uh, don't you have like six hours of on-demanded Sunday programming to watch? And twelve or thirteen seasons of "Hudson and Rex" taking a bite out of crime?) Sorry guys. I won't be able to wait until Friday. I'd post a lot of questions for next week, but I would hate to spoil anything for anyone. I will say this past week had its frustrations for me (for ALL of us!) My least favorite person makes the biggest move of the game so far... and does so brilliantly, sending home a fan favorite player. Awwww. And putting my personal favorite on that tribe at great risk moving forward! On the other tribe, we have two HUGE personalities who just can't find a way to work together .... but I like them both, so I'm a bit torn on who should win this war (Seriously? Uh, it's a very simple decision!). Stop fighting with each other and work together at least till merge, guys (also, tone down the smugness a notch, lady #NotKelliOrCarolineHumour). I'd like to see you BOTH make it to merge. But the show is hinting at a proverbial "showdown at sunset"(#WilliamHairstonHumourNobodyWillGet); him with his rifle and her with her bazooka. I realize only WM and Ali will get that reference but... there it is. Can't wait to find out what happens next. (Actually Catlover, post-pandemic showdowns are done on Zoom, with the two sitting comfortably on their couches in pajamas. Network legal departments insist on it). Tuesday, February 20th We have some overlap issues here too... "Will Trent: Me Llamo Will Trent", Season 2 Episode 1, 8 pm on ABC A car bomb ignites an investigation for Will and bomb expert Cricket, revealing more than meets the eye; Angie battles to return to work; Ormewood's home life gets complicated; Faith develops her relationship with Luke. Kind of regret I didn't keep up with this. I recall I was finding the promo pics and descriptions far more entertaining than the show itself. I wanted comedy... and I was finding it more "dark comedy", I guess. Might give it another chance with the season two premiere. Maybe.... "The Rookie: Strike Back", Season 6 Episode 1, 9 pm on ABC The team must try to understand why they were targeted and if there is a bigger plan in place; Nolan must survive his last shift before his wedding to Bailey. Now... need to recall how last season ended. And did we know that Nolan and Bailey were getting married? How did I forget this? (Weren't we all cheering for them to break up so the show could focus only on work and ignore the time-draining "personal life" stories completely? Okay, that might have just been me.....) Here is the problem though..... "Quantum Leap: As the World Burns", Season 2 Episode 12, 9 pm followed by the "Quantum Leap Finale: Against Time", 10 pm on NBC Ben leaps into the body of a Baltimore firefighter in 1974 and is unexpectedly reunited with his time-crossed love, Hannah, and her son, Jeffrey; trapped in an inferno, Ben must find a way to repair their troubled relationship and save their lives (let's hope he prioritized putting out the fire first; the relationship won't need repairing if they're all dead. Just sayin'.) Ben finds himself behind the wheel of a speeding stock car in 1976, but a terrifying threat from the future could sabotage the leap; racing against the clock, Ben, Addison and the team risk everything to complete the mission and save Quantum Leap. It's the overlap of "The Rookie" premiere and the first "Quantum Leap" that is the rub. If we watch Nathan Fillion and miss the first Ben and Addison, then we won't want to catch the 10 pm finale until we see the episode before it. Seems it would make more sense to do the two QLs and delay watch "The Rookie". But frankly, I prefer "The Rookie" between the two. Argh... this is a problem. Anyone have an opinion? Wednesday, February 21st "Wild Cards: The Dead of Night", Season 1 Episode 5, 8 pm on The CW When the leads of the most popular vampire show on TV become the target of a stalker, Max and Ellis enter the world of showbiz where the behind-the-scenes drama is even wilder than what's on screen. I am now a week behind and am always a week behind you guys anyway. I might just bow out of any attempts to chat with you guys and catch up at my own pace for this one. I WILL catch up... Marc the cat, you know. The most interesting thing about the show. He just does not get nearly enough screen time. (Very quick blink-and-you'll-miss-him spotting at the end of your show tonight. Maybe... he's in contract negotiations and holding out for a higher salary? Or demanding at least equal screen time to Betty on "Will Trent"? But not Rex, who is a titular star on his show) That was a task, trying to remember which of our many pages Ali posted a picture of Marc on. Of course, it wasn't the most obvious page.... the "Wild Cards" one. Heh. "Resident Alien: The Upper Hand", Season 3 Episode 2, 10 pm on Syfy D'arcy inserts herself into Harry's mission, while Kate grows more uncomfortable in her own home. Strange little show. And did you hear? Netflix has just added the first two seasons to its lineup. I believe you can also still catch it on Peacock. This is for anyone who needs to know the history of the show before diving in to this final season three. Thursday, February 22nd
"Next Level Chef: Curry in a Hurry", Season 3 Episode 5, 8 pm on Fox The 14 remaining chefs are tasked with preparing a curry dish that promises to pack a punch with only 30 minutes on the clock; the winning dish gives the entire team immunity and claims the top-level kitchen for the next challenge. Still feel like this one is my priority but if Ali has a "Ghosts" preference, speak up. I could go either way. It's just that reality shows are more fun to chat through, I think. "So Help Me Todd: Your Day In Court", Season 2 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS As Margaret and Todd work on two separate cases, Todd suspects a crime is happening in the courthouse right under their noses. So glad to have this fun little show back for a while. And instead of a dog, Margaret now has a CAT! Think the cat will remain a part of the story? One can only hope so. Couldn't find a pic of Margaret's cat. (Why doesn't anyone on TV ever get a Siamese cat? If it's because any entire generation was conditioned to hate Siamese because of that idiotic "Doctor Dolittle" or "Lady and the Tramp" or whatever that stupid Disney movie was... then make it an unlikable cat constantly proving its superiority to humans by playing cruel, dangerous tricks on them! Great comic relief on an intense crime drama!) "Tracker": this could be the answer to the scheduling dilemma. Episode two replaying again at 10 pm on CBS. Friday, February 23rd "Fire Country: Like Breathing Again", Season 2 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS While breaking up a bonfire party, the station 42 crew is called to complete a dangerous and highly complex cave rescue.
I forgot to mention this last week, but I did catch the season two premiere and am no longer mad at the show. All has been resolved and we are now ready for fresh dilemmas, heh. We already have one pretty good one. I may have been the only one who stuck with it last season, but I really did enjoy it a lot so I'll be on-demanding the second season. On-demand for now, because Friday is the best night to catch up on all the "Australian Survivor"s in a group chat. So until that is over in fourteen weeks, this is the priority. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
