Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this sunny (and, if anything like yesterday, windy and cold enough to cut through any kind of jacket/sweater you are wearing - making it really hard to want to be outside) Sunday morning? Was out a bit yesterday for a family birthday but declared that it is finally time to binge watch "Hudson and Rex". There are four seasons of this show available on UpTV Faith and Family - and yes, it's time for me to finally watch it all the way through. I've been meaning to for a long time. Are new seasons of this show still in progress? How many total seasons are there at this point? Canadians - do you know? I mean... look at that beautiful German Shepherd face! How did I manage to wait this long? And his name in the credits is "Diesel Vom Burginwald". Such a German- sounding name for the German Shepherd canine-actor who plays Rex. Yes, I'll enjoy this watch. But when will I find the TIME? So much new TV finally making its way back onto the schedule, some of which I will have no choice but to on-demand if I want to keep up with. Thank goodness cloud DVRs and streaming sites make on-demanding stuff easy. Let's start this week's TV watch with: Sunday, February 18th Where do I begin? Sunday is suddenly overloaded.
Now to the actual "live chat" shows, which ALSO have a conflict! "Tracker: Missoula", Season 1 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS Colter tracks down a missing young man who has been pulled into a deadly cult and doesn't want to be found. I enjoyed the first episode (I must have; I watched it twice). So I plan to continue for a while. But sadly, it competes with ..... "The Way Home: Wake Me UP When September Ends", Season 2 episode 4, 9 pm on Hallmark Sidenote: Song reference in the title! WM? I expect artist, year it was released and all the pertinent details as you are so good at providing with song titles. For the record, I'm only required to know the late fifties, sixties and seventies; younger posters like whimsicali, JustGreg and watchedeveryepisode take care of the twenty-first century. Now let's deal with the shocking part: YOU'RE a fan of punk legends Green Day and their classic C.D. (they weren't called "albums" then) "American Idiot"? WTH?? Alice reevaluates the past and her friendship with Elliot; Kat discovers that history is told by the winners; Del questions the stories she tells herself. I am seriously obsessed with this interesting and twisty story. So the question is, do we have anyone besides Ali and I who will want to watch and chat "Tracker". If so, I say we watch it at 9 pm, then DVR "The Way Home" so that it is on-demandable at 10 pm. Or should we do that the other way around? Ali? Do you have an opinion? Monday, February 19th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 6, 8 pm on ABC Joey and the 10 remaining women head to Montreal; nerves run high for all as hometowns inch closer; Joey goes on two one-on-one dates; the remaining women push through their insecurities on a group date. Montreal! The best place to fall in love in Canada (well no, Niagara Falls is, but you can bet that quote will be made at least once. Perhaps in completely mangled French? Jess Palmer! You're a Canadian! Which means you are required to speak both official languages if you want to host a network TV show. If francophone Karine Vanesse could do it for "Traitors Canada", you must too! The ball is in your court. And fine: we'll take it easy on you and not insist you dress in some bizarre, freakishly wide-shouldered outfit #KarineHumour) And if they don't go to Schwart's Deli for smoked meat on at least one of the one-on-one date, there will be rioting on the streets of Quebec. And THIS time, producers, you damned well BETTER let them eat the food! Don't just let it sit there untouched in front of them! Australian Survivor Week 4 - Episodes 10 -12 I'm sure I'll be doing this on my wide-open Monday (uh, don't you have like six hours of on-demanded Sunday programming to watch? And twelve or thirteen seasons of "Hudson and Rex" taking a bite out of crime?) Sorry guys. I won't be able to wait until Friday. I'd post a lot of questions for next week, but I would hate to spoil anything for anyone. I will say this past week had its frustrations for me (for ALL of us!) My least favorite person makes the biggest move of the game so far... and does so brilliantly, sending home a fan favorite player. Awwww. And putting my personal favorite on that tribe at great risk moving forward! On the other tribe, we have two HUGE personalities who just can't find a way to work together .... but I like them both, so I'm a bit torn on who should win this war (Seriously? Uh, it's a very simple decision!). Stop fighting with each other and work together at least till merge, guys (also, tone down the smugness a notch, lady #NotKelliOrCarolineHumour). I'd like to see you BOTH make it to merge. But the show is hinting at a proverbial "showdown at sunset"(#WilliamHairstonHumourNobodyWillGet); him with his rifle and her with her bazooka. I realize only WM and Ali will get that reference but... there it is. Can't wait to find out what happens next. (Actually Catlover, post-pandemic showdowns are done on Zoom, with the two sitting comfortably on their couches in pajamas. Network legal departments insist on it). Tuesday, February 20th We have some overlap issues here too... "Will Trent: Me Llamo Will Trent", Season 2 Episode 1, 8 pm on ABC A car bomb ignites an investigation for Will and bomb expert Cricket, revealing more than meets the eye; Angie battles to return to work; Ormewood's home life gets complicated; Faith develops her relationship with Luke. Kind of regret I didn't keep up with this. I recall I was finding the promo pics and descriptions far more entertaining than the show itself. I wanted comedy... and I was finding it more "dark comedy", I guess. Might give it another chance with the season two premiere. Maybe.... "The Rookie: Strike Back", Season 6 Episode 1, 9 pm on ABC The team must try to understand why they were targeted and if there is a bigger plan in place; Nolan must survive his last shift before his wedding to Bailey. Now... need to recall how last season ended. And did we know that Nolan and Bailey were getting married? How did I forget this? (Weren't we all cheering for them to break up so the show could focus only on work and ignore the time-draining "personal life" stories completely? Okay, that might have just been me.....) Here is the problem though..... "Quantum Leap: As the World Burns", Season 2 Episode 12, 9 pm followed by the "Quantum Leap Finale: Against Time", 10 pm on NBC Ben leaps into the body of a Baltimore firefighter in 1974 and is unexpectedly reunited with his time-crossed love, Hannah, and her son, Jeffrey; trapped in an inferno, Ben must find a way to repair their troubled relationship and save their lives (let's hope he prioritized putting out the fire first; the relationship won't need repairing if they're all dead. Just sayin'.) Ben finds himself behind the wheel of a speeding stock car in 1976, but a terrifying threat from the future could sabotage the leap; racing against the clock, Ben, Addison and the team risk everything to complete the mission and save Quantum Leap. It's the overlap of "The Rookie" premiere and the first "Quantum Leap" that is the rub. If we watch Nathan Fillion and miss the first Ben and Addison, then we won't want to catch the 10 pm finale until we see the episode before it. Seems it would make more sense to do the two QLs and delay watch "The Rookie". But frankly, I prefer "The Rookie" between the two. Argh... this is a problem. Anyone have an opinion? Wednesday, February 21st "Wild Cards: The Dead of Night", Season 1 Episode 5, 8 pm on The CW When the leads of the most popular vampire show on TV become the target of a stalker, Max and Ellis enter the world of showbiz where the behind-the-scenes drama is even wilder than what's on screen. I am now a week behind and am always a week behind you guys anyway. I might just bow out of any attempts to chat with you guys and catch up at my own pace for this one. I WILL catch up... Marc the cat, you know. The most interesting thing about the show. He just does not get nearly enough screen time. (Very quick blink-and-you'll-miss-him spotting at the end of your show tonight. Maybe... he's in contract negotiations and holding out for a higher salary? Or demanding at least equal screen time to Betty on "Will Trent"? But not Rex, who is a titular star on his show) That was a task, trying to remember which of our many pages Ali posted a picture of Marc on. Of course, it wasn't the most obvious page.... the "Wild Cards" one. Heh. "Resident Alien: The Upper Hand", Season 3 Episode 2, 10 pm on Syfy D'arcy inserts herself into Harry's mission, while Kate grows more uncomfortable in her own home. Strange little show. And did you hear? Netflix has just added the first two seasons to its lineup. I believe you can also still catch it on Peacock. This is for anyone who needs to know the history of the show before diving in to this final season three. Thursday, February 22nd
"Next Level Chef: Curry in a Hurry", Season 3 Episode 5, 8 pm on Fox The 14 remaining chefs are tasked with preparing a curry dish that promises to pack a punch with only 30 minutes on the clock; the winning dish gives the entire team immunity and claims the top-level kitchen for the next challenge. Still feel like this one is my priority but if Ali has a "Ghosts" preference, speak up. I could go either way. It's just that reality shows are more fun to chat through, I think. "So Help Me Todd: Your Day In Court", Season 2 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS As Margaret and Todd work on two separate cases, Todd suspects a crime is happening in the courthouse right under their noses. So glad to have this fun little show back for a while. And instead of a dog, Margaret now has a CAT! Think the cat will remain a part of the story? One can only hope so. Couldn't find a pic of Margaret's cat. (Why doesn't anyone on TV ever get a Siamese cat? If it's because any entire generation was conditioned to hate Siamese because of that idiotic "Doctor Dolittle" or "Lady and the Tramp" or whatever that stupid Disney movie was... then make it an unlikable cat constantly proving its superiority to humans by playing cruel, dangerous tricks on them! Great comic relief on an intense crime drama!) "Tracker": this could be the answer to the scheduling dilemma. Episode two replaying again at 10 pm on CBS. Friday, February 23rd "Fire Country: Like Breathing Again", Season 2 Episode 2, 9 pm on CBS While breaking up a bonfire party, the station 42 crew is called to complete a dangerous and highly complex cave rescue.
I forgot to mention this last week, but I did catch the season two premiere and am no longer mad at the show. All has been resolved and we are now ready for fresh dilemmas, heh. We already have one pretty good one. I may have been the only one who stuck with it last season, but I really did enjoy it a lot so I'll be on-demanding the second season. On-demand for now, because Friday is the best night to catch up on all the "Australian Survivor"s in a group chat. So until that is over in fourteen weeks, this is the priority. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.

Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this not-very-cold-but-threatening-to-rain Sunday morning? While the world is preparing for Super Bowl Sunday - my family included - you know what I'm going to do? Turn on Great American Family for the "Great American Rescue Bowl"! When Hallmark dropped the ball and dumped the Kitten Bowl" a few years ago (upsetting many of their long-time fans) Great American stepped in to save the day. Even better, they branched out to include puppies! This is all about drawing attention to "rescue pets" who need a home. Who wouldn't want to support that? As you all know, watching a football game is not something I routinely do. But when the Chiefs are playing, there is a curiosity for me. Having grown up in Kansas City Missouri with a dad who was a Chiefs fan, there is some history. So there will be a family party with food and snacks, and I will participate... for a while. How long?We will see. Was out last night so didn't catch much in the way of TV. But we all know what is happening in Australia today... in fact, it is already in the books: Episode seven of "Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels". Episodes eight and nine are soon to follow Two weeks in and the Aussies are not disappointing. Really looking forward to week three. I'm sure I'll watch ahead. There are many distractions this week so we'll have to figure out how to work it in but, you know me... I will not be able to wait to find out just what happens next. Now what about our upcoming TV week? Sunday, February 11th "The Way Home: ", Season 2 episode 4 The Landry women and Elliot take on the San Francisco 49ers and have a genius plan to pull off the biggest surprise upset in sports history... Oops! This might have to wait until next week. No new episode tonight... undoubtedly I'm due to THIS: Superbowl Sunday - KC Chiefs vs. San Franscisco 49ers! Go Chiefs! I can not promise that I'll watch the whole game. 😉 I WILL, however, check out THIS... "Tracker: Klamath Falls", Season 1 Episode 1, 10 pm on CBS, or RIGHT after the game! Colter investigates the disappearance of 14-year-old Gil Brown, who is suspected to have been taken by his birth dad with a criminal background; Colter finds himself in some trouble of his own, requiring help from legal mind Reenie Greene. I've been looking forward to this. Hard to say what the actual start time will be; the schedule says 10 pm but most likely it will be much later. I will probably go ahead and check it out, but this premiere episode is replaying at 10 pm on Thursday. If anyone would care to do a chat, let me know. Monday, February 12th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 4, 8 pm on ABC Joey's journey continues in Malta with a dynamic one-on-one and the season's largest group date; the tension in the house comes to a head on a two-on-one date and a shocking cocktail party full of thorns. Two episodes this week for "Bachelor" fans; Monday and Tuesday nights. NCIS Franchise is Back In Business!
Tuesday, February 13th "The Bachelor" has another new episode this week.... 8 pm on ABC "La Brea: The Road Home, Part 2", Season 3 Episode 6, 9 pm on NBC Gavin leads the survivors in trying to find Eve, Josh and Riley in a final attempt to reunite his family and find a way back to the lives they once knew. I believe this is the finale episode. Will we end the series with more questions then when we started? Starting to feel that way..... "Quantum Leap: The Outsider", Season 2 Episode 11, 10 pm on NBC An anonymous source sends Ben and an experienced local Denver TV journalist on the trail of a dangerous conspiracy as they pursue the scoop of a lifetime in the early eighties; there's trouble at HQ when Ian's past decisions about excessive tattoos comes back to haunt the team. I still say Ben and Addison will find their way back together. Wednesday, February 14th "Wild Cards: The Accountant of Monte Cristo", Season 1 Episode 5, 8 pm on The CW After an infamous accountant set to testify against the mob is kidnapped, Ellis gets an urgent call from an old friend to help get him back; Chief Li tells Max and Ellis they're on thin ice; he shouts this through a bullhorn on the edge of a river about a half a mile away from them. I still need to catch up on last week's episode. I was deeply distracted by something else then that I have now finished. Plus the "Australian Survivor" episodes are always what I want to watch most. Thursday, February 15th Thursday is filling up with some returning favorites: "Young Sheldon: A Wiener Schnitzel and Underwear in a Tree", Season 7 Episode 1, 8 pm on CBS News of the tornado reaches Sheldon and Mary in Germany; with the Cooper house in chaos, Missy steps up. Looking forward to the final season of "Young Sheldon". "Ghosts: The Owl", Season 3 Episode 1, 8:30 pm on CBS Sam, Jay and the remaining ghosts unravel the mystery of which ghost passed into the afterlife; Sam and Jay must relocate an owl to do construction on the barn to turn it into Jay's restaurant (Be careful! Owls can attack, and chase Sam through the front door, leaving her to collapse and die at the foot of the staircase! You can bet that will NOT be good for business! #TheStaircaseHumour) Sidenote: I did finish "Ghosts UK" in its entirety and am now wondering if this US version will follow it down the same road. Remains to be seen. The UK only gave the show five (much shorter) seasons. I can see the US trying to keep it around much longer. In the UK, we very suddenly saw a beloved character "sucked off". (Oh! Is that why we are losing Sam on tonight's premier?) I hear it was because the actress was moving on to another project (namely "Ted Lasso" on Apple TV). This was followed by a couple of other unexpected surprises and a rather sentimental ending. Will be interesting to see what the US does moving forward. But.... not sure I want to live chat "Ghosts" instead of "Next Level Chef". I will need some input from those who chat both shows as to which one should get the priority. "Next Level Chef: The Draft, Smash Bash", Season 3 Episode 4, 8 pm on Fox The top 15 chefs are drafted into their three teams; the contestants must prepare an all-American smash burger that proves their cooking abilities. The draft and the first round of official competition begins. Personally I'd prefer to prioritize this but I'm open to whatever. "So Help Me Todd: Iceland Was Horrible", Season 2 Episode 1, 9 pm on CBS Margaret and Todd tackle a case involving a murder on live local morning news and must rethink their working relationship after Todd decides to open his own private investigator business. So excited for the return of this fun little show! Live chat for sure. Also, if you missed "Tracker" after the Super Bowl, it will be re-played at 10 pm tonight. We could live chat it here, if anyone is interested. Friday, February 16th A new episode for "Going Home" will be released on Great American Pureflix... Might be the best night for working in some Australian Survivor for those who would like to do a chat. Week 3 episodes seven through nine. Will do a page for this later today or tomorrow. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this gorgeous Sunday morning? Seriously, it's been a lovely weekend weather-wise for us. Sunny, not terribly cold. Sadly, I've missed it all. It's been a sick weekend for me, so I haven't done much but sleep and watch movies. Feeling a lot better today though. And just in time for week two of "Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels". The season is off and running - and it turns out, I'm not the ONLY one who has trouble waiting until Friday to watch. WM! There are three episodes a week airing in Australia, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Here in the US, episode links can be found fairly quickly if you know where to look. I know Monday is out of the question for a channel chat. Tuesday is hard as well. I'd be open to Wednesday at 9 pm. Thursday at 9 pm. Friday is a good option. Now that I've invested in the first week, I know I won't be able to wait long to catch episodes as soon as they become available. Feras the Cheshire Cat (and "Naughty Sandwich" Dude). Raymond the Village Idiot. Marc, Cool as a Bald Cucumber. These are only a few of the nicknames we've attached the players so far.(Also, #TurnItDownAFewNotches Lady. #InappropriatelyDressedRussianBabe #V2) Curious? Then catch up on week one and join us for week two. Australian Survivor: Always a fun ride. And more risque than their American counterpart. All that being said, our chat calendar could be filling up quite a lot more in the coming weeks as TV shows make their way back onto the network TV schedule. Here is a link to the EW Calendar, if anyone is interested. 2024 TV premiere dates: Schedule for new and returning shows Quite a few things on that list I'm interested in: "Tracker", for one. The new Justin Hartley show that will premiere after the Super Bowl next Sunday, and then move to 9 pm on Sunday for its regular time slot - causing a conflict with "All Creatures Great and Small" AND "The Way Home". Good grief! "So Help Me Todd" returns on Thursday, February 15th at 9 pm followed by a repeat of the premiere of "Tracker" for anyone who didn't stay up after the Super Bowl to catch it. "Ghosts" and the final season of "Young Sheldon" also return on that same Thursday, causing a conflict with "Next Level Chef". Dang it! "Fire Country" returns on Friday, February 16th. A show I liked but was upset at the way season one ended. So now I must find out what happens next. "Survivor 46", will premiere on February 28th with a two-hour episode. Episode two on March 6th will also be two hours. Then on March 13th, "The Amazing Race 36" will premiere, returning both shows to a ninety-minute format. That's only a touch of what we have in store for us in the coming weeks. Now, let's move on to this week's fun: Sunday, February 4th "The Way Home: When You Were Young", Season 2 episode 3, 9 pm, Hallmark The Landry women and Elliot reflect on what it means to grow up as they hang on to memories from their younger days while accepting who they have become. This episode, we'll finally see where young Jacob has been all this time. And if it will be possible for him to be returned to his original timeline so he can grow up with his family. Was that young Jacob we saw in the shadows watching his younger self play with a sparkler a couple of weeks ago? Or was it someone else? This is quite a mystery and I LOVE it! Can't wait to see where the story goes. Monday, February 5th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 3, 8 pm on ABC Is it possible we already know who will win the season after only TWO episodes? Joey and Daisy are staring at each other with such loving eyes that we have to wonder how he will possibly fake interest in any other woman for the upcoming dates.... "The Abigail Mysteries", 8 pm on Great American... Struggling to come to terms with loss, Abby Brooks goes on a journey of faith, reconnection and adventure as she works with local cop and childhood crush Matt to solve a mystery. Well, Great American is replaying this fun movie so I might have to watch it before seeking out episode four of "Australian Survivor". You know I'll do it... I can't help myself. Tuesday, February 6th "La Brea: The Road Home, Part 1", Season 3 Episode 5, 9 pm on NBC A traitor turning on the survivors leads to a deadly confrontation as they're shocked to learn where Eve has been taken. Strange - the synopsis for this episode is the same as last week? I'm confused.... "Quantum Leap: The Family Treasure", Season 2 Episode 10, 10 pm on NBC A cursed treasure hunt draws Ben to Mexico in 1953, putting him between two estranged siblings struggling with their father's legacy; as they navigate a series of lethal obstacles, Ben finds the real challenge is repairing this broken family's bond. And what Zap2It posted for "Quantum Leap" is also the same as last week. But according to the IMDb episode list, it is the correct one for THIS Week. Same with "La Brea". Zap2It was confused either last week or this week - and I'm not sure which is correct. Guess we will have to watch to find out. Wednesday, February 7th "Wild Cards: Strangers on a Wave", Season 1 Episode 4, 8 pm on The CW After a surfer gets shot and washes up on the beach, Ellis goes under cover and Max puts on her detective hat to unravel a criminal plot worthy of Hitchcock. While I'm chatting episode four, you guys will be watching episode five. Let me know if "Australian Survivor" episode four is do-able at 9 pm after this. Thursday, February 8th "Next Level Chef: PROS, Auditions", Season 3 Episode 3 The auditions conclude as the professional chefs battle for one of the coveted five spots. I really do love that they have given us a peak at the audition phase for this show. I think we will continue to have many more seasons to enjoy for a long time to come. Gordon Ramsey seems to be golden where TV shows are concerned. Then, Australian Survivor Episode 5 at 9 pm? Friday, February 9th A new episode for "Going Home" will be released on Great American Pureflix... Such and amazing and beautiful show.... As for "Australian Survivor", if we manage episode four on Wednesday at 9 pm, episode five on Thursday at 9 pm, then come Friday we can watch episode six. That might work for THIS week - although probably not for the full season. Then after we see all three episodes, be sure to visit the "Talking Tribal" segment. Hosted by Shannon Guss and King George, this season's third host is one of Australia's favorite players: Chrissy. It's sort of a mini version of her podcast where they break down the three episodes of the week in a fun and entertaining way. It's findable on YouTube - not even region blocked. Shannon Guss is my favorite podcaster when it comes to all things International "Survivor". And George, as insufferable as he could be as a player, is actually quite a fantastic analyst of the show. He podcasts best when his back is against the wall and he's forced to be nice to his fellow hosts; when he isn't, he makes arrogant and condescending comments to them. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this mostly-back-to-normal-temperatures but-still-cloudy-and-threatening-rain Sunday morning? I have finished "Traitors UK" and "Survivor UK". Both excellent seasons. I will refrain from giving details since not everyone else has finished their watches. All I will say is the UK gave me a gift with this new Survivor season. For the most part, the players had never seen an episode before and had no idea what they were getting into. They had to learn how the game on the fly. There were a couple of people in the mix who had watched the show and could be called "super fans" but overall, the majority had no idea how to play. Which made for a fun season! There is a page on the Survivor blog where Ali and I have been chatting. If anyone watches and cares to chime in, that would be the place to leave your comments. Just tag me when you do so I'll know you were there. The BIG news is that "Australian Survivor" is getting underway today... well, actually tomorrow (they are twelve hours ahead of us). So while I am at work tomorrow, Survivor fans in Australia will be enjoying episode one of "Australian Survivor: Titans vs. Rebels"! They are not wimps in Australia. No cutting the game down to a measly 26 days for these guys. This will be a 47-day season (the UK ran 34 days, btw), and begins with a cast of 24. I never did a kickoff page because... well, a lot of work, and no one ever really shows up for it (except DNA42, and he isn't as free for chatting these days). I will be emailing him soon to see if he will be able to check in during this new season. You gotta love his take on things. The question will be, when do we want to work in chats for this? I'm sure I can score a link for anyone interested (or at least direct you where to find one, if you need me to). By tomorrow night, there might even be one for the premiere episode already available. Wednesday night, maybe, after "Wild Cards"? Friday night is wide open, but I'm sure I won't wait that long to dive in. However, I will re-watch with you guys if you want to work the week's episodes in on Friday. That might be the best bet for a channel chat. Let me know who is interested and I'll do what I can to help with links. Also, Ali and I started a "US Traitors" season two chat. I have been enjoying it more than I expected. We obviously prioritized United Kingdom season two, which we have now finished. And we have a new episode to catch up on, so whenever you are ready, Ali. Now, moving on to our TV week... (Oh, but first... while in the BBC1 player, I found seasons four and five of "Ghosts UK" and have made it through number four. If you get a chance, the episode about the child's birthday party has been my favorite so far. Mike listens to a voice mail message confirming details for a birthday party and hears "Edith and Hazel 86"... so plans a party for very old ladies. The party was actually to be for "Edith and Hazel, 8 and 6". What a mishap! In the meantime, one of our favorite ghosts gets "sucked off" - awwww, sad (though the phrase will never NOT be funny!) - leaving quite a hole in the cast and causing much unhappiness for Alison and the other ghosts. And poor Mike has an on-the-fly birthday party mishap to deal with all on his own. Yes, the best episode of the season! NOW moving on.... Sunday, January 28th "The Way Home: Hanging By A Moment", Season 2 episode 2, 9 pm, Hallmark Del considers the future of Landry Farm; Kat searches for answers through the past; Alice tries to make peace with Elliot. The premiere episode last week was so good I found myself still pondering it the next morning - mark of a truly great mystery. Can't wait for episode two tonight! "Next Level Chef: Auditions", Season 3 premiere, 10 pm on Fox Eight social media stars battle it out on three kitchen levels for a chance at the grand prize. Social media stars? Hmm. Fox is kicking off this show tonight in the post- championship football game slot; it's normal time will be 8 pm Thursday. I hate when they do that, heh. But I love this show so I will put up with it tonight. I DO plan to continue the PBS shows, but since our regular chat shows are coming around again, we shall focus our page on those. Monday, January 29th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 2, 8 pm on ABC Joey kicks things off with the first group date, where wedding bells ring and stakes are higher than ever; the first one-on-one date takes love to new heights; Joey discovers which women have the bravery and stamina for lasting partnerships. It was so great to see our long-absent buddy Just Greg again - oh, how we missed his sharp wit! But.... we may have to accept that we won't be seeing Subroutine any more! :(( And while you guys do that, I'll head to Great American Family for.... "An Unlikely Angel", 8 pm on Great American... Businesswoman Janie is falling apart at the thought of becoming a mom, then has a chance meeting with an angel. Such a lovely movie. I've seen it more than once, but it's always worth a rewatch. Unless I choose to hunt down the Aussie Survivor premiere episode. Hmmmm. Tuesday, January 30th "La Brea: The Road Home, Part 1", Season 3 Episode 4, 9 pm on NBC A traitor turning on the survivors leads to a deadly confrontation as they're shocked to learn where Eve has been taken. I have a feeling I will be as confused at this series' ending as I have been since the show's premiere. But... it is some how still enjoyable. Season two also picks up for this fun show tonight. There will be a cat. Wednesday, January 31st "Wild Cards: Howl To Get Away With Murder", Season 1 Episode 3, 8 pm on The CW Things go from quaint to creepy when Max and Ellis look into the disappearance of a butcher in a small rural town; Max quizzes Ellis on his personal life; Ellis tells her to go screw herself. Of course, if you are in Canada, you'll be seeing episode four. Very poor planning on someone's part, heh. But it does make for an interesting - albeit confusing - chat, with me watching a different episode then our Canadians. Thursday, February 1st "Next Level Chef: Auditions", Season 3 Episode 2, 8 pm on Fox This is the official time slot for the show, so we now have a Thursday, 8pm commitment. At least, I do. I enjoy this one. But I am feeling a need to mention.... "Farmer Wants A Wife", Season 2 Premiere Now, I didn't watch season one last year because I assumed it would be full of the kind of dating drama you get with "The Bachelor" (which you all know I am not a fan of, despite the fact that my site here has a large presence of Bachelor fans). But then I did a little bit of research and found an article that said even if you are not a fan of dating shows (like me), you might actually enjoy this one. My interest piqued, I read on. Apparently this show has been around for many, many years in other countries even if it is new to the US, and is responsible for more than 180 marriages worldwide. Interesting. The CW gave it a shot in 2009, but cancelled it after one season as they mishandled the concept, making it more "fictionalized" than it should have been (whatever that means) and it couldn't find a fan base ("Fictionalized", Catlover, is reality TV-speak for "completely producer manipulated"). Totally missed THAT. But last year the show was rebooted here in the US on FOX - and this time the show that bombed in 2009 on the CW was a lot more successful. "Farmer Wants a Wife" really does focus more on the rural farm setting and what life is like for these people. Farming is a hard life, and these guys need a wife that can handle life in the farming industry. Less "outlandish"; more "real-world life on a farm". (That's true. Even on "The Bachelor" season starring "farmer" Chris Soules, the ladies were never woken up at four A.M. and thrown into the field to shovel manure). It's the "nice" version of a dating show, one reviewer said. I don't know if I'll check it out, but I am curious... did anyone on this site watch last season? If you did, please share your thoughts. I don't recall anyone mentioning it at all last year. I am curious when the article I read said "Bachelor fans aren't really into this one but those who are not fans of "The Bachelor" made it successful". Well, I may have made that up - those were not the exact words - but the sentiment was the same. Friday, February 2nd A new episode for "Going Home" will be released on Great American Pureflix... Such and amazing and beautiful show....
However, I would imagine this will be the best night to try to work in a chat for Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels. I can't promise I won't have already watched but I would happily watch again if that is the case. Let me know who all is interested so I can make sure everyone has a link. I'll be sure to email the usual suspects: DNA42 and T Double grrrr. Anyone else? These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this sunny-but-far-colder-than-it-should-be-in-North-Carolina Sunday morning? It appears that the fans in Australia are as anxious for some new Survivor as WE are: the start date for "Australian Survivor: Titans vs. Rebels" has moved up from February 6th to January 29th! That is just ONE wee away! So that gives me seven days to finish the fun that was the first British Survivor season in twenty years. I have now watched ten episodes; I think there are a total of sixteen, so we'll be busy catching up on everything. I found an article on the new "Australian Survivor" - no region blocking, so anyone can check it out (it's attached below). I get far more excited about Australian Survivor than US Survivor these days; I might even do a preview page later today in anticipation. We will make a watch plan as soon as we know all the details, like when episodes will become available. Yes, it's easier to just assign a Friday or Saturday watch - but I must say, sometimes I have trouble waiting for this one. Survivor Australia 2024 Cast: Meet the ‘Titans v Rebels’ Contestants (idolssa.net) Look at those twenty-four Aussies just waiting to get into the game! I'm all tingly with anticipation. I'm such a Survivor nerd, heh. Anyway, moving on to this week's fun.... Sunday, January 21st "All Creatures Great and Right: Small-Hand Man", Season 4 Episode 3, 9 pm, PBS Busy and exhausted, James and Helen cannot get any time together; James hires a new trainee vet, but things do not work out as he expects. Nice little show, this one... "Funny Woman", Season 1 Episode 3, 10 pm on PBS Barbara's life changes overnight as her show "I Love Lucy" becomes successful; success drives Barbara to embark on a romance with Clive. Have also been enjoying this. "The Way Home: The Space Between Our Ears", Season 2 Premiere, 9 pm, Hallmark Del re-creates traditions of the past; Alice misses her friends; Kat grapples with Jacob's mystery in the wake of losing Elliot. Ali and I have a chat planned for this one, if anyone would care to join us. This is not your typical Hallmark: no, it's an intriguing mystery. I might make a point to watch the last couple of season one episodes today before it starts... maybe. Monday, January 22nd "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Premiere 8 pm on ABC It's BACK! So we may as well accept that until it is over, there will be no "Survivor UK" or "Traitors UK" or "Traitors US" chats on Monday night. Nor will I be able to entice Ali and WM into any Monday night chats for anything at all. :-}} Since I do not do this show at all... WM? Any news on this one? I think Kristen has posted a cast introductory page on EW. Tuesday, January 23rd "NCIS Sydney: Blonde Ambition", Season 1 Episode 8, 8 pm on CBS When JD's son is kidnapped by an international assassin in exchange for a wanted criminal in NCIS custody, the team frantically tries to get his son back safely without trading in a criminal. Now, I recall that last week was supposed "to be continued", but this synopsis doesn't sound related to that episode. What am I missing? I guess I shall have to watch to find out. "La Brea: Maya", Season 3 Episode 3, 9 pm on NBC As Gavin and Sam search for a secret military base, they're surprised by an old colleague of Gavin's who may hold the clues to finding Eve; when Ty and Sam try to figure out how to bring their friends home, Ty becomes sidetracked by his past demons. This show can get confusing sometimes. When I read "Ty and Sam try to get their friends home" - is not one of those "friends" Sam himself? I'm so confused. Wednesday, January 24th There are a couple of shows on Wednesday right now that I enjoy... "I Can See Your Voice" I am one episode behind, but the two I have watched were pretty fun. I think my favorite lip-synch performance so far this season has been "The Roofer". Couldn't find his initial lip-synch, but.... The reason you hear her say "Be bad! Be bad!" is because the contestant didn't have faith that he had guessed correctly, so he took the $30,000 he'd already won and gave up his chance at $100,000. WRONG DECISION! His initial lip-synch blew me away. I believed him from the first note. But then we got to hear him sing a duet with Gavin DeGraw and he was so good... we got an encore, though the encore wasn't aired on the episode. Can't imagine why NOT (not enough time). What the heck is this incredible singer doing working as a roofer and doing a stupid little show like "I Can See Your Voice". Somebody, please... give him a recording contract immediately! Or sign him up for "The Voice"! Or "American Idol. Or SOMETHING..... The things you guys miss when you don't watch a stupid RTV show with me. Talk about a diamond in the rough. HA. Just kidding! Also, The CW has picked up yet another Canadian show called... "Wild Cards: Show Me The Murder", Season 1 Episode 2, 8 pm on The CW A harmless porch pirate case leads Max and Ellis to stumble upon the murder of a cutthroat sports agent. I did enjoy the premiere episode and plan to continue; however... I am fine with catching both of these shows on-demand since this would be a good "Survivor UK" night. We need to get the full season done before the Australian fun begins. Let me know, Ali. Thursday, January 25th "Traitors UK" We should have at least one "Traitors UK" then we could follow it up with a "Survivor UK"... if you are free, Ali. Anyone is welcome to join, of course. It's just that Ali seems to be the only one interested right now. Friday, January 26th I do need to work in my "Going Home" episode on Great American Pureflix... Excellent series.... But I can stream this anytime. Lots of UK RTV to work in before the weekend is over. Plus we will have a new episode of "Traitors US" as well. Can't believe it has sucked me in... but here we are. Everyone is helpless to resist Parvati. Let me know if you are free for any of this on Friday. Funny: Sandra Diaz Twine, annoyed by another player on "Traitors US" for being a "loudmouth". Shall we count the number of times SDT was a loudmouth on Survivor? The most famous quote of Survivor Pearl Islands is Sandra running down the beach shouting at Jonny Fairplay "I CAN GET LOUD TOO!" You tell him, Queen! "Traitors UK" - quite a good season so far. As for "Survivor UK" - don't let anyone tell you Josh is not a good host. I think he's fantastic at it. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this beautiful, sunny, but cold Sunday morning? I've been watching a lot of BBC TV lately. There's "Survivor UK" - the United Kingdom has finally gotten into the game. The season actually aired before Christmas (while the US season was going on, and I didn't know it!). But now that I'm six episodes in, I can say they have done the show justice. There is also "Traitors UK" season two. They do this program well in the UK. Similarly, we are six episodes in as well it's been much fun. In my opinion, Claudia is one of the best "Traitor" hosts in the game. No nonsense. All business. But still with a nice way about her too. Ali and I have been chatting these two shows. If anyone cares to join us, please catch up and get in on the fun. Not sure when we will pick up, but we do have a lot of open nights this week to work with. What I am MOST looking forward to is "Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels" which will get underway in Australia on February 5th. I've yet to find a full cast list or much in the way of news. "Inside Survivor" is usually the place to go and they have not yet made any announcements. Traditionally this show does three episodes a week so chatting is challenging. Getting access is also a struggle. If you have a good vpn, you can find ways to watch. There is a Facebook group that helps with links but I'm reluctant to mention its name because the original group was taken down. Oops! If you have an extra five bucks a month to spare, you could become a "Patreon" supporter of RHAP and they provide you the links to everything (I think. Don't quote me on that). Well, it was that way at one time. I can only assume it still is. And that little bit of money each month helps support and keeps the RHAP site running. No, I am not a Patreon. But it might be worth it for an international Survivor obsessed fan like me. Finally, "The Traitors USA" season two started up on Friday. Caution: if you want to avoid spoilers, stay off Twitter (or "X") completely. It seems that is all they talk about these days. At one point this weekend, nine of the top ten tweeting items were "#TraitorsUSA" and the names of eight players. Without even once clicking on one of those sites, I am reasonably confident I know who the first three traitors are. And could offer a good guess on who the first boot was. Seriously, spoiler-avoiders: stay completely away! Anyway.... international TV is where it's at for me right now. I even found that the entire five seasons of "Ghosts UK" is on that BBC site so I will finish that up while I'm in the mood for it. CBS only gave us a teaser. The TV world here in the US will get better pretty soon though. Things are slowly getting back to normal as you will see as we go through our week. Our favorite "Resident Alien" is returning on SYFY soon. Season three will have its premiere on February 14th on both Syfy and the USA network. Peacock will have the episodes the next day as well. Such quirky alien fun this show is #QAF. Just the right amount of creepy and doesn't take itself too seriously, allowing for a hilarious element to balance everything. Alan Tudyk could not have been better cast. This is the role he was born to play. Like Skylar Astin on "So Help Me Todd". Other new shows coming up soon.... "Next Level Chef" on January 28th "Tracker", the new CBS Justin Hartley show, on February 11th (I think it will premiere right after the Super Bowl). "Ghosts" and "So Help Me Todd" on February 15th "Survivor 46" on February 28th "The Amazing Race" on March 13th Things are looking up, TV Wise. Now if only someone would strip WM of his Netflix obsession so that he will join in our chat fun as consistently as he used to. **just kidding, WM**. (But.... Oscar season! It's why I LOVE Netflix!) Though we are missing you for this "Survivor UK" chat. You are the one who normally enthusiastically participates in this stuff. I'll keep sending you links. Let us know what you think when you get a chance to check it out. Moving on to our upcoming week..... Sunday, January 14th "All Creatures Great and Small: Carpe Diem", Season 4 Episode 2, 9 pm on PBS Siegfried hires an experienced bookkeeper; James and Helen take inspiration from "Carpe Diem" and make a long-awaited decision. This is such a nice little show. In fact, I think I'm becoming a bit enamored with the PBS Masterpiece Theater world (since when? heh) because the show right before it is "Scarlett and the Duke", After seeing the final few minutes of it last week, I now want to catch up and watch it in full. And after THAT comes... "Funny Woman", Season 1 Episode 2, 10 pm on PBS Barbara lands a lead role in a new TV sitcom opposite Gabriel Hogan, but news from home threatens to derail her plans. This began last week and I must say... I really enjoyed the premiere. I'm determined to catch episode two tonight. Set in sixties "swinging London", a beautiful young woman with a dream to be a funny TV star like her hero Lucille Ball (who was neither British nor beautiful) , moves to London to make a go of it! The soundtrack alone... fun! The best music of the sixties came from England (with my apologies to Motown). Monday, January 15th Wide open. A great night to continue "Survivor UK", Ali? I don't think I'm going to make a new page. We will just continue on the page already set up for the season. Tuesday, January 16th "NCIS Sydney: Bunker Down", Season 1 Episode 7, 8 pm on CBS When a U.S. Navy researcher is found dead at a glitzy tech launch in a secret underground bunker, part of the team heads over to investigate, only to find themselves trapped inside with limited oxygen when the bunker fails to open. I do like this show so plan to continue for now.... I read an article the other day which listed all the NCIS franchise shows and was surprised to see "Hawaii Five-0" (which I did watch in its entirety and enjoyed a lot), and "Jag" (which I did know was related, but didn't know it was considered part of the official franchise) both listed. Seems like there was another one on the list that surprised me, but... nope, can't think of what it was. Wait... it was "Scorpion"! Is that considered an NCIS franchise show? I had no idea. Moving on.... "La Brea: Don't Look Up", Season 3 Episode 2, 9 pm on NBC As the survivors attempt to integrate with the villagers at the fort, a flock of vicious pterodactyls attack their new home; Ty tries to figure out his next steps and seeks help from an old friend. Such a strange show... but I LIKE it! Wednesday, January 17th The return of all the "Chicago" shows on NBC! I know this makes EJetson happy. Does this include "Chicago Scorpion"? "HeeHeeHee I've seen episodes here and there but haven't really binged through any of the seasons. I keep saying I'm going to but just haven't gotten around to it yet. One day. Retirement plan? One must plan to keep busy! And adopting four more cats might not be enough! Thursday, January 18th Also, the "Law & Order" shows are back on NBC! Can't say I've seen much of "Law and Order" either. But the star of "Resident Alien" is obsessed with it - in particular, leading man Jerry Orbach. It's how he learned English, bingeing that show when he first arrived on Earth. "Traitors UK" By this night, we could have some "Traitors UK" episodes available. This will be my first pick. Or we could do "Survivor UK". Friday, January 19th "Going Home" on Great American Pureflix will release episode three today. I will make time for this, a beautiful in every way show. However, if Ali is free, we can also continue our Survivor/Traitors UK watches. "Going Home" is an on-demand thing, so I can catch it whenever I please. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Rat (Random Assorted Television) Musings for the week of 1/7/24 through 1/13/24 AND Happy New Year!1/7/2024 Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV People, How are you on this "much colder outside than the sunshine coming through the window would indicate" Sunday morning? Now that the holidays are officially over and we are all working our way back into normal routines, it's time to start looking ahead in earnest of what this site will be doing "chat" wise. We don't gravitate to the same kinds of things we used to. I used to think if something had the potential to be mock-worthy, it was a good fit for us (e.g. "The Masked Singer", "America's Got Talent", "I Can See Your Voice"). Yes, I still enjoy some of these shows. But I don't always go the distance with them. And it's rare that anyone attempts to chat them any more. Then there are the shows that draw a lot of people in for chats that I have no interest in: "The Bachelor" and it's franchise shows; and "Big Brother", for example. There are international versions of shows that I love - and I make whatever efforts are necessary to watch them. But few want to join me these days. Even "Survivor" re-watches aren't as popular as they used to be. And how long has it been since we had a good "mock-worthy movie" chat? Yes, ages and ages. Streaming sites have taken over the world. There is a lot of new content to be found on those kinds of apps - sometimes better than anything found on network TV - but not everyone has access to everything. And the attempt at a "Streaming Corner" (a blog page dedicated to shows like) that didn't really take off. Just so many shows; too little time, heh. What does all this mean? I don't know. I'm just making observations on how difficult it is these days for me to figure out which shows to mention on this page. Which ones will make a good chat? The old rule used to be, only mention it on this page if I thought there was a going to be a live chat. That would make creating the live page easy (I'd just copy and paste from the Rat column, to reduce the time spent on any given morning creating pages). But if I did that these days, very little would get mentioned on this Sunday page. Instead, I mention anything I'm interested in (whether there will be a chat or not). However - so much of what I have an interest in, no one else on this page does. It's such a puzzle. #SuchAPuzzle Could it be we are having growing pains? Maybe there's a better way to phrase that, but I'm sure you understand what I mean: we are all interested in different things these days, and the result is it's harder to find good chat opportunities. Maybe I'm just feeling the frustration of having gone so long without much in the way of good TV to chat. One day, we will all forget to show up here just for the lack of anything good on network TV, hee hee. Chin up, Cat. Things will look up soon, right? There are a few things be excited about on this list: "La Brea: The Final Season" will start on January 9th "Next Level Chef" on January 28th "Tracker", the new CBS Justin Hartley show, on February 11th (I think it will premiere right after the Super Bowl). "Ghosts" and "So Help Me Todd" on February 15th "Survivor 46" on February 28th "The Amazing Race" on March 13th 2024 TV premiere dates: Schedule for new and returning shows I also read a blurb last night that we are getting a season three of "Resident Alien" but it will be a shorter season; only eight episodes instead of the usual twelve. So, do we have anything this week? Maybe a couple of things: Sunday, January 7th "All Creatures Great and Small: Broodiness", Season 4 Episode 1, 9 pm on PBS Skeldale House is busier than ever while Tristan is away serving; James and Helen dream about the future; Siegfried offers support when Mrs. Hall takes a leap of faith. My binge of the first three seasons last winter made me a fan. Looking forward to this. Monday, January 8th Nothing to see here. A good night to dive into "Survivor UK"? If anyone would care to join me, let me know. We'll have to find a good link for to use. I noticed anything that was previously on Dailymotion has been removed, and I have had no luck with the vpn. That Facebook group is the best place to go to find links - so I will go there, I guess. I really do want to squeeze this in before "Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels" gets underway on February 5th. Will we be able to get a good chat going for the Aussie version? Dearly hope so. Don't think we have an official cast list yet but I have heard it's ALL newbies. Looking forward to this one. Tuesday, January 9th "NCIS Sydney: Extraction", Season 1 Episode 6, 8 pm on CBS When a man in a concealed U.S. Navy jacket drops dead from a cocaine overdose on a crowded bus, the investigation pulls Evie back into her past as an undercover narcotics cop. New episodes have returned for this international NCIS franchise show. I have committed myself to follow for a while. "La Brea: Sierra", Season 3 Episode 1, 9 pm on NBC After the clearing is destroyed in a dinosaur attack, the survivors must find a new home; Gavin discovers a clue about where Eve has been taken, but tracking the lead down results in even more tragic consequences. The final season! How they intend to wrap THIS one up in a nice little bow will be interesting to see. Or maybe they won't even attempt to? "The Floor: This is The One We've Been Waiting For", Season 1 Episode 2 A new player emerges to dominate in a night of bands, toys and bugs. Last week I blew by this without a mention. But now, after watching episode one, I can say I enjoyed this interesting take on a trivia show. However, since it is in conflict with "La Brea", I'll probably on-demand it later. How is Rob Lowe as a host? Wednesday, January 10th "I Can See Your Voice: Queen Night: Gavin DeGraw, Thomas Lennon, Jennie Garth, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Cheryl Hines", 8 pm on Fox Celebrity detectives are Gavin DeGraw, Jennie Garth and Thomas Lennon; the singer whom the contestant picks will reveal their skill in a duet performance with Gavin DeGraw. "I don't wanna be anything other than what I've been trying to be lately". Gavin still makes me think of "One Tree Hill".... I really enjoyed the first episode of this one. Yes, I know... Ken Jeong. But I just love guessing games. Thursday, January 11th Sadly, the run of "Ghosts UK" seems to have ended. Awwww. I guess we don't get the rest of the episodes. Truly a shame. But by then there will be some new "Traitors UK Season 2" episodes, though. Three episodes in: so far, so fun. Anyone else watching? I'd be open to starting a chat with episode four. Still undecided if I'm going to watch the US version..... #RTVHogs Friday, January 12th We could do "Traitors UK" or "Survivor UK". Please let me know of any interest level. But I, for sure, will be making time for "Going Home" season two episode two on Pureflix. New episodes become available for this show on Fridays. Remember a couple of years ago when I was gushing over a series I had watched on Pureflix called "Going Home" which starred Cynthia Geary (Shelly from "Northern Exposure") and Cozi Zuehlsdorff (the "Dolphin Tale" movies) about hospice nurses? Well, season two has just become available on Great American Pureflix. The first episode did not disappoint. Some familiar faces will be guest stars this season. Episodes become available on Friday exclusively on Pureflix. Hoping Great American will make this show available on Great American Family at some point (for those who don't do streaming apps). Would be great to see it get that kind of exposure. It's a simply beautiful series. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
