Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are YOU on this rainy, rainy spring Sunday? So, it's official: CBS can't keep an original idea for more than two seasons to save their life. "So Help Me Todd" has been formally cancelled by the stupid powers that be at the Eye network. This doesn't make any sense to me. It has a wonderful cast. It's funny. It's cleverly written. Why cancel it after only two seasons? And it had already been announced that it will end on a massive cliffhanger that will now never get resolved. The creators of SHMT obviously didn't think they were in any real trouble. Perhaps a cry for justice for this fun little show will somehow save it - or at least provide for its fans an extra episode/movie to give a satisfying end to its fans. (Catlover, as always, it's for the most basic reason of all: declining ratings. According to reports, "Todd" started strong this season then quickly began losing viewers more and more. The drop from its early season one numbers to where it was now was too much. Executives who make these decisions care nothing about the show's quality, or cast. If enough people aren't watching, it goes off the air. This is one of the worst truisms of network television). Meanwhile, the decades-long running police procedurals and medical shows live on. Can we understand now why people are willing to hang on to expensive cable/satellite TV, or subscribe to multiple streaming sites, in order to gain access to fresh ideas? Network TV is completely out of them - and when they DO get one, they don't treat it with respect. In other news, there is a new series on the "Cowboy Way" channel, which I actually DO have access to on the Friendly App (and also on Plex TV, which I know nothing about). A couple of years ago a movie called "Blue Ridge" found quite a bit of success in the inspirational TV world (UpTV and Pureflix both have it in their steaming catalogue). So it's been turned into a series which is getting underway now. I watched the movie Friday night, just to see what I think. Advertised as "inspirational", it wasn't really a faith story at all. Set in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of my home state North Carolina (and even filmed there!) it's about a former Green Beret turned new police detective (played by Johnathan Schaech) who takes this job in a quiet community to spend more time with his daughter and maybe reconnect with his lovely wife (Sarah Lancaster). Nothing "big" ever happens in this peaceful beautiful community, right? Until now..... The movie was pretty good, actually. Some beautiful scenery only a short drive from my home! Some great folks in the cast: Johnathan Schaech who I really only know from 1996's "The Thing You Do" as the "talent" in the band (he was the one who wrote the ballad that the drummer turned into a "hit record" by speeding it up during a performance). Way in the back of the promo pic above, you will see Lara Silva (who I know very well from "The Chosen" and the Pureflix movie "Devine Influencer"), Oscar nominee Graham Greene ("Dances With Wolves"), and Sarah Lancaster ("Chuck", and many Hallmarks). But the series doesn't have that same cast. Lara Silva is no longer his deputy, for one thing (too busy with "The Chosen", I guess). But they've added other familiar faces: A Martinenz, for one. I'm going to check it out soon to compare it to the movie. Perhaps being on a streaming channel - NOT network TV - it will have a better chance to survive? Still not sure why it's considered "faith and family". But the movie was enjoyable and family-friendly in terms of language and content. Interesting story line about a land war between two families that resulted in the murder of a real estate agent who went public about her desire to use the land for development of... something. Can't recall all the details, heh. But I enjoyed it. Time to move on to our TV week: Sunday, April 21st "Tracker: Aurora", Season 1 Episode 9, 8 pm on CBS When a widower offers a reward to find his only daughter who disappeared three years ago and is presumed dead, Colter agrees to help track her down. We do get another season of this show. I like this one... but I like "So Help Me Todd" better. Just saying... Monday, April 22nd "MasterChef Junior: Pancakes and Ice Cream", Season 22 Episode 6, 8 pm on Fox The remaining six chefs compete for the top spot in a team-based pancake challenge; four chefs must create their own ice cream dishes. Ice cream dishes - now THAT sounds kid-friendly! Much more so than last week's "restaurant-level dish using ingredients you HATE"! "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Ruthless?", Season 1, Episode 9, 10 pm on NBC A critical error has the potential to upend the game and terminate one player's quest for the big prize. A critical error on the part of a player? If so, which one? And will Aron find the enthusiasm to continue in the game this week? Good grief, he was seriously depressed and uninterested last week! Didn't try at all. Would he have even survived the episode if the one playing against the Banker hadn't taken a "too good to pass up" deal (which most people I've heard discussing this feel was the right choice) We will see what happens, I guess. There can't be too many episodes left before Boston Rob is officially declared the winner. Tuesday, April 23rd Again, "Will Trent" and "The Rookie" are both repeats. Again, not sure why... I found an article about this: seems that the writer's strike is still causing issues, Not sure why they need to take a three week break from new episodes NOW in order to stay on track for the season, but original shows won't return until April 30th. Fans are getting mad and raising an uproar. Great job, ABC. Making all the fans of these shows mad is such a wonderful idea! But anyway, moving on.... Wednesday, April 24th "Survivor 46: Spicy Jeff", Episode 9, 8 to 9:30 pm on CBS Castaways inhabit a remote destination and attempt to outwit, outlast and outplay each other for a prize of $1 million. Just noticed the above is a "generic episode" description. Huh? I guess because a synopsis hasn't yet been added by CBS? What to say after last week's confusion? (Also, is "Spicy Jeff" a quote from a player (as all episodes usually are) or did Probst just decide he could insert himself even further into the game by naming future episodes after him?) "The Amazing Race: Walk and Chew Gum, Baby", Season 36 Episode 7, 9:30 pm on CBS Teams must put on their best performance in Montevideo, Uruguay, when they choose between banging out a drum routine with street performers or singing a Spanish tune with professional troubadours at the detour. Still sad over last week's loss of the "Grandparents". They were a breath of fresh air. Really liked them a lot. (Oh, would anyone happen to know which continent Uruguay is in? #FloggingADeadHorse) Thursday, April 18th "Ghosts: The Traveling Agent", Season 3 Episode 9, 8:30 pm on CBS Pete discovers a power that he never knew he had, one that brings him closer to his buddy Jay. I still haven't made it to last week's episode. But I'm wondering.... is Pete's wife still on or did she leave the cast already? Unless I missed an episode, I don't recall. "Next Level Chef: Kumbucha Kulture", Season 3 Episode 14, 8 pm on Fox The final five chefs must create a dish using a fermented drink called kombucha; two chefs battle for a spot in the semifinals. This show seems to be nearing its end. And soon after that, we'll get another season of "Food Stars". Interesting to note: "Food Stars" originated in the UK but only lasted two seasons there. I read that this new season in the US is being headquartered in the UK. Also, Gordon has an Australian version soon to launch there. Will I care enough to check it out? I don't know... maybe not. "So Help Me Todd: Faux-Bituary", Season 2 Episode 7, 9 pm on CBS Meticulous attorney Margaret Wright hires her talented but scruffy son Todd as her law firm's in-house investigator; Margaret's strict adherence to the law is at complete odds with Todd's scrappy methods, but together they make a formidable team. Trying to decide if I want to see a huge cliffhanger that will never get resolved. That usually makes me crazy. (Also, second generic synopsis of the week. WTH?) "Elsbeth: An Ear for An Ear" Season 1 Episode 6 at 10 pm on CBS After one of New York's most sought-after plastic surgeons is found dead, Elsbeth has her eye on the victim's former boss, Dr. Vanessa Holmes, who she believes has motives that are more than skin-deep. I read an article the other day that fans of the Elsbeth character from "The Good Wife" and "The Good Fight" aren't satisfied with this series: they expected it to mirror the kind of programs those were. It doesn't at all, according to article (it certainly does not: those were very intense, melodramatic, topical shows). Her character is so quirky, they built a show to better fit HER... and that is frustrating for some. But it is also finding an audience with people like me who never watched either of those two shows. Friday, April 26th
Can't think of anything we need to delay-watch tonight. Anyone? Friday night is becoming Pureflix movie night for me. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.

Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Good morning, RTV people! How are you all on this sunny and lovely but still a bit chilly Sunday morning? Finally, I'm all caught up with season sixteen of "Heartland" just in time for the next one to launch on UpTV. What this means is season eighteen is right around the corner. It also means that every other streaming platform (and there are a lot of them) that carry this show will finally get access to season sixteen. If you are a fan of "Heartland", it pays to have UpTV. They are under contract to get the seasons a full year ahead of everyone else. Correction, WM! The way I had it written was actually correct. Season 18 is the new season upcoming in Canada. Here in the US. Season 17; LAST year's season in Canada will be released on UPTV Faith and Family streaming app, one episode a week, until it is all there. Then, I think it will actually AIR on the UpTV live channel. Seems backwards but that is how they do it. But for everyone else, it is Season 16 becoming available soon. So that is what I meant by "it pays to have a subscription to UpTV Faith and Family if you are a Heartland fan. They have the official contract as the first to get access to a new season and they get it a full year ahead of everyone else. I will say... the last couple of seasons have not been as good as the earlier ones. Still enjoyable, but I'm wondering how much story is left for this family? Some in the fanbase can't accept that Ty died, and they want the show to somehow resurrect him. How they can do that without it being a completely cheesy story line, I have no idea. They also have not been able to successfully come up with a new love interest for Amy. I'm still sort of rooting for Caleb, now that they are both single parents of small kids. But if they aren't careful, they could have a Boone/Shannon situation when the kids are grown up, hee hee. #LOSTHumour. Just kidding. I will continue to watch it and look forward season eighteen when it happens. But I still wonder why I got midway through sixteen and then forgot all about it until now, when word got out that season seventeen episode one would be released. Thursday, April 25th. I've also gone down the "LOST" hatch... once again. It's worth a rewatch, as much for the soundtrack as for the show itself. I have some kind of fascination with this "island of mystery" show, and it has been about five years since I've made a run through the series. This time it's with the "Down the Hatch Podcast" that Josh Wigler and Mike Bloom did a few years ago, (beginning in 2019). What fun entertainment it has been while at work, when I need listening material to get through my day. Hosts are Josh Wigler (a journalist for the Hollywood Reporter and a regular RHAP podcaster) and Mike Bloom (a journalist for Parade Magazine, and also regular RHAP podcaster, famous as the co-host with Shannen Guss for much of her International "Survivor" broadcasting). They are very funny guys. Together, an absolute hoot, regardless of whether they are discussing the show's grit and violence, or its heartbreak and sentiment. The best is that they are both very passionate about "LOST". The musical score for this show, by Michael Giacchino, is a complete masterpiece. So haunting. So beautiful. I watch one episode and I'm hooked. I admit, I've been getting behind on current TV shows this new season because I can't walk away from a "LOST" re-watch once I begin it. Enjoy this beautiful melody from LOST, first heard on "Do No Harm", the episode which gave us the death of a main cast member AND the birth of a baby, (If anyone ever wanted to do a re-watch of "LOST" just for fun, I'm always open. I would enjoy watching and discussing it with either newbies or veteran fans like myself). Now we'll move on to our TV week... Sunday, April 14th "Tracker: Camden", Season 1 Episode 8, 8 pm on CBS Colter tracks down a dockworker who went missing two weeks before his wedding. I don't think I ever watched last week's episode. Whoops! Will try to work it in prior to this new one. "Billy Joel: The 100th -- Live at Madison Square Garden", 9 pm on CBS.
Monday, April 15th "MasterChef Junior: Mystery Box", Season 22 Episode 5, 8 pm on Fox The top seven young chefs must turn ingredients they hate into delicious, restaurant-quality dishes; the winning chef advances in the competition and takes home e-bikes for their entire family. It's a new episode tonight ... "Sight Unseen: Tess", Season 1 Episode 2, 9 pm on The CW When the hit-and-run victim from one of Tess' former cases awakes from a coma, Sunny encourages Tess to track down new leads even though she's no longer on the force. There seems to be some confusion about when this show airs. Last week there was episode one on Monday, then episode two on Wednesday. This week, Zap2It is showing episode 2 repeating on Monday, followed by three on Wednesday. Not sure why they are doing it this way, but Wednesday is out of the question for me. Airing them new each Monday would work best for me. "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Meticulous?", Season 1, Episode 8, 10 pm on NBC The remaining seven players must navigate a tangled web in their hunt for the big prize as one member struggles after the loss of a key alliance. Did Aron quit the show? I doubt it... but the end of last episode has left that question in the air. Frankly, I think Alyssa leaving last Tuesday was the best thing that could have happened for him. Look forward to seeing the show's conclusion now that my least favourite player is gone! I will say, I am enjoying Boston Rob, but I must wonder... why are they not targeting HIM (The producers don't let them?) Some feel there is a production effort to protect him and his alliance. But guess what: Alyssa WAS in his alliance and now she's gone. And his other alliance mate Aron is mad and threatening to leave. We will see how it goes. Tuesday, April 6th "Will Trent" and "The Rookie" are both repeats. Not sure why... Wide open night, I guess. Wednesday, April 17th "Survivor 46: Hide & Seek", Episode 8, 8 to 9:30 pm on CBS After a big blindside, multiple castaways claim credit for the elimination, stirring the pot among their fellow tribemates. I assume they mean the Soda blindside. I've already forgotten whose idea it was except that we all thought it was Tevin's ... and he didn't actually vote for her. WM? Any thoughts? (Dalton Ross suggested it was a cautionary vote in case she played her Shot-In-The-Dark. That makes perfect sense. But why would they not televise that?) "The Amazing Race: Our Alliance Strikes Again", Season 36 Episode 6, 9:30 pm on CBS Teams compete in double roadblocks and double detours on a "Megaleg" in Argentina. Double the roadblocks and double the detours! That sounds like a lot! Wonder if that means this episode will have a continuing leg into next week with no elimination this week (yep, all "mega-legs" do)? Seriously, did they announce that this entire season will take place in South America and I somehow missed it? It's been a great advantage for Spanish-speaking Ricky and Cesar; shouldn't the other teams get a chance to catch up?) Thursday, April 18th "Ghosts: Holes are Bad", Season 3 Episode 8, 8:30 pm on CBS When Sam and Jay leave the ghosts home alone for the weekend in an attempt to have a romantic getaway, shocking revelations are made about two of Woodstone's beloved spirits. Our chat seems to have gone away for this. And I admit, I didn't like last Thursday's episode at all and turned it off in the middle. Ugh. I assume Jay was disconnected from his Poltergeist somehow, but I have no idea how. "Next Level Chef: Picture Perfect", Season 3 Episode 13, 8 pm on Fox The six remaining chefs are tasked with recreating a picture-perfect dish using just the memory of a reference photo. OOH! A memory challenge! I'd be terrible at that, heh! "So Help Me Todd: Is The Jury Out", Season 2 Episode 6, 9 pm on CBS Lawrence enlists Todd's services to find out the sexual orientation of a judge; with her client's livelihood at stake, Margaret and Lyle search for a reluctant witness. Missed opportunity to hear Todd sing last week. Shame. (Perhaps he had "No singing" written into his contract before he signed on for the show?) "Elsbeth: Ball Girl" Season 1 Episode 5 at 10 pm on CBS When the world's top tennis champion drops dead on the court, Elsbeth and Kaya home in on a rising tennis star and his competitive father and coach; Capt. Wagner begins to suspect Elsbeth's reason for being in New York goes beyond the consent decree. This show is surprisingly fun. Alinator and I might have to continue watching for a while. Friday, April 19th
Can't think of anything we need to delay-watch tonight. Anyone? These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV People, If you are all caught up on anything you care about from last night's TV, you are safe to enter. Truth be told, this page has become a pretty fun one, full of randomness. No one here will post anything that hasn't already aired on TV. You only need to worry if you missed something from last night that you don't want spoiled! So, if you are NOT caught up on LAST NIGHT'S TV..... yada, yada, yada Have a great day!
Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this sunny but chilly Sunday morning? I'm sure it will get a little warmer as the day goes on... and soon, it will be too hot to want to go outside at all in the afternoon. So I should be taking advantage of this weather now. One day, I will get back into the world of Great American rom coms, but last night, I chose to rent a movie on Prime that I never got to see in theatres when it dropped before Christmas. It's from Angel Studios and it's called "The Shift" Kevin Garner (Kristoffer Polaha) travels across worlds and dimensions to reunite with Molly (Elizabeth Tabish), the love of his life. A mysterious adversary known as "The Benefactor" (Neal McDonough) upends Kevin's world as he tries to escape an alternate dystopian reality. Yes, that is Kristopher Polaha (a Hallmark favorite) you see there. There's Elizabeth Tabish who I know and love as Mary Magdelene in "The Chosen"; Rose Reid, who may not be very famous but I know her from the Karen Kingsbury series "A Thousand Tomorrows". Though his name isn't up top, you also see in that picture someone I know very well: Paras Patel, Matthew on "The Chosen"; Sean Astin, who we know from many things ("Rudy", "Lord Of the Rings"). And Neal McDonough ("Captain America", "The First Avenger", "Suits"), a long-time character actor who is well-known for keeping his marriage vows pure by never playing the leading man in movies: he doesn't ever want to have a love interest in a film, which would make him feel like he's cheating on his lovely wife. Which I think is admirable... and sweet. But he sure isn't a sweet character here! He is the Benefactor, aka Satan. This looks like science fiction (dystopian on the surface) but what it really is, is a retelling of the book of Job from the Bible. Now, if you are not familiar with the Biblical Job, you might not get it. You might just see a strange sy/fy movie. How would a strong man of faith handle it if he loses everything: his wife; his son. The world he knows and is successful in has been dropped into a "sideways" world where all traces of God have been removed, so no one has any hope. People sometimes dismiss faith-based movies as being low budget and not well acted. Not true of this movie. The acting is incredible. Neal McDonough is creepy and scary and perfect in his role. Kristopher Polaha is Kevin, our Job. In real life Kristopher is a strong man of faith, so this is a perfect fit. I enjoyed it, and actually might watch it again before the rental expires. It was a fascinating watch. That was my Saturday night. So, what about our TV week THIS week? Sunday, April 7th "When Calls The Heart", Season 11 Episode 1, 9 pm on Hallmark The new season of "When Calls the Heart" is beginning tonight. This might be my only mention because if I post synopses for each episode, I'm going to spoil the season for Ali and I really do not wish to do that. So I will refrain. I feel bad that we were so open with our discussions last season and gave everything away for her. But I AM excited for what's to come. You know where I'll be at 9 pm. Remember, any comments we make about this show on the Daily Page will need to be "spoiler tagged". Let's try not to ruin everything for Ali. Monday, April 8th No new "MasterChef Junior" again tonight.... ... however, the CW something new that looks interesting: "Sight Unseen: Tess", Season 1 Episode 1, 9 pm on The CW Homicide detective Tess Avery, diagnosed as blind, teams up with Sunny Patel, a remote guide, to solve crimes; using tech and trust, they tackle cases while challenging notions of ability and boundaries. Another Canadian show making it's way onto US television. You guys will have to tell me if it's any good. "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Decisive?", Season 1, Episode 7, 10 pm on NBC The island's tranquility shatters when tensions boil over and personalities clash in the players' pursuit of the big prize. I'm committed to finishing this season. I have enjoyed it; however, there is some talk out there that the producers of the show are going out of their way to protect Boston Rob and his alliance. Two weeks in a row, Alyssa (an alliance member) was the target. Two weeks in a row, a twist came around to save her. The issue last episode was that case that didn't really need to be opened. The girl who was playing against the Banker had it under control; poised to beat him. Also poised to send Alyssa home. To some, it felt like "We are only going to make them open the case (this was a non-elimination twist) if it looks as though the banker will lose." What benefit was it to the player up against the banker to open that case? NONE whatsoever! Shouldn't it have been HER decision whether to open it or not? If she felt she was in danger of losing, open it to see if it would help. I don't know.... I think it's a fun show. But I COULD see their point. Especially after last week when I really did feel like a twist came out of nowhere to save Alyssa. (By the way, I'm really not an Alyssa fan and wish she would leave ASAP. Something about her bugs me.) Tuesday, April 9th "Will Trent: We Are Family", Season 2 Episode 6, 8 pm on ABC Will reunites with a long-lost relative, uncovering unexpected and profound similarities; the GBI and APD investigate a judge's murder; Faith's connection with Luke deepens. I hear we are getting a season three of this quirky little show. "The Rookie: Secrets and Lies", Season 6 Episode 6, 9 pm on ABC Following their time as foster parents, Bailey wants to have a baby and forces John to reconsider their decision to not have children; John and Celina discover a prison escapee whom they fear is out for revenge and race to find her. Forces? Funny word to use when talking about whether or not to have a baby. They didn't have an open discussion where both parties are able to express their feelings on such a huge subject? Will this mean trouble ahead for Nolan and Bailey? I know... this will make WM happy if Bailey gets mad and leaves. Wednesday, April 10th "Survivor 46: Episode Several", Episode 7, 8 to 9:30 pm on CBS A rogue vote at the last tribal council launches a blame game throughout camp; players must keep their balance to keep their game alive and win immunity. Yes, the episode is REALLY titled "Episode Several". Jalinsky lives on! And will probably NEVER escape the concept of "Several means seven". Funny. "The Amazing Race: Save the Stress for Later", Season 36 Episode 5, 9:30 pm on CBS To begin this leg of the race in Santiago, Chile, teams search for Marilyn Monroe's iconic Thunderbird car to receive their next clue. Marilyn Monroe's Thunderbird is parked in Chile? Who knew? (Still in South America....) Thursday, April 11th "Ghosts: The Polterguest", Season 3 Episode 7, 8:30 pm on CBS Alberta hits it off with a poltergeist who is attached to a newly arrived Woodstone guest; Isaac and Nigel have separate bachelor parties. Our chat for this one seems to have gotten lost. Sorry. I am caught up though. "Next Level Chef: Bingo, Bango, Bento", Season 3 Episode 12, 8 pm on Fox The seven remaining chefs work individually to create Japanese-inspired dishes for their bento boxes; one judge oversees the chefs during the elimination challenge, while two judges blindly taste test their creations. ... it's just that I really love NLC. Fun take on a cooking show. I'm all in for this. "So Help Me Todd: End on a High Note", Season 2 Episode 5, 9 pm on CBS Margaret and Todd defend international opera star, supreme diva and Lyle's mother, Jaqueline. The opera singer is Lyle's MOM? How fun! Maybe she can duet with Todd (Skylar Astin), an accomplished opera singer in his own right outside of this show. "Elsbeth: Love Knocked Off" Season 1 Episode 4 at 10 pm on CBS Things turn deadly when elite matchmaker Margo Clarke goes to extreme lengths to keep her socialite client from finding out the truth about her perfect new husband; when the husband goes missing, Capt. Wagner assigns Elsbeth and Kaya to investigate. If we continue the format used by this show, we will know what happened to the husband right at the start: the fun will be watching Elsbeth and Kaya figure out the mystery. For me, this is sort of like reading the last page of a novel, so you know how the book ends before you read it. People do that, but I've never understood why. Despite that, this show has been pretty enjoyable. I love quirky characters and they don't come much quirkier than Elsbeth. Friday, April 12th Can't think of anything we need to delay-watch tonight. Anyone?
These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are YOU on this beautiful Easter Sunday morning? I really am going to keep it short. Getting my day started earlier on this Easter morning. Enjoyed a couple of movies over the weekend: "The Resurrection of Gavin Stone", which I have found is no longer available on Netflix! So I had to rent it from Prime. Still, a delightful movie. The old classic "Easter Parade"... a great musical starring Judy Garland, Fred Astaire and Peter Lawford. And a new one from Great American Family called "Just In Time"... Hannah and her husband Rowan are trying to have a baby. When Hannah receives a call from a stranger who claims to have discovered a long-lost heirloom from her family, she sees that the answers to all she seeks will be revealed in God's time. Simply a lovely movie, about a struggling couple who find healing for their marriage and their souls during this Easter season. Sunday, March 31st "Tracker: Chicago", Season 1 Episode 7, 8 pm on CBS Colter, Bobby and Reenie race against time to track down a talented MMA fighter who disappeared while trying to solve her family's trouble with their visas. Visas? Let's hope this means Justin runs into legal problems, requiring help from his comic-relief providing attorney (who was absent last week). "The Way Home: Bring Me To Life", Season 2 episode 10, 9 pm on Hallmark Del, Kat, Alice and Elliot each receive answers about their past and present, while hope for the future brings new questions. Seems it would be easy to work an Easter theme into this show.... Monday, April 1st No MasterChef Junior tonight .... ... because Fox is having an IHeart Radio music thing. We have no idea why. "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Intentional?", Season 1, Episode 6, 10 pm on NBC The remaining eight players continue their quest for the big prize; explosive drama unfolds as the banker presents a game-changing personal offer; the group wrangles with snakes of all kinds. I maintain.. fun little show, even with the excessive Boston Rob (#HeeHeeHee) Tuesday, April 2nd "Will Trent: Capt Duke Wagner's Daughter", Season 2 Episode 5, 8 pm on ABC As threats against Amanda escalate, Will investigates, narrowing down a list of potential suspects; Amanda is forced to confront moments from her past; Ormewood struggles in Gina's absence. Hard to predict where this week's comic relief will be provided..... "The Rookie: The Vow", Season 6 Episode 5, 9 pm on ABC When a toddler is found at the scene of a crime, John and Bailey must decide whether to let the child go to a shelter for the night or care for her themselves; when someone from his past returns, Tim disappears and leaves Lucy in the dark. So many questions here! From Tim's "professional" or "personal" past? A male or female "someone"? And why would you leave Lucy in the dark when you just KNOW she is dying to put into action the detective skills she was unjustifiably robbed of professionally using?? Sounds like Tim is pretty much screwed here! Wednesday, April 3rd "Survivor 46: Cancel Christmas" (hmmm, no), Episode 6, 8 to 9:30 pm on CBS Castaways hit the ground running to figure out where the cracks are within the other tribes; the players hope to find new life in the game if they can earn the merge. "Earn" the merge? Oh dear God, does this mean the merge might be "turned back" for a completely idiotic reason that only Probst will want? Has he not learned that the entire audience is through with this? "The Amazing Race: Those Who Wander Are Not Lost", Season 36 Episode 4, 9:30 pm on CBS Teams para-glide their way to the start of this leg in Medellín, Colombia, where they must choose between detours getting in sync or decoding a rebus puzzle. Uh, producers? You're aware that there are five other continents on the planet Earth, right? "Resident Alien: Homecoming", Season 3 Episode 8 FINALE, 10 pm on Syfy Harry and Asta team up with an unlikely ally to try to save the Earth. (Doesn't this happen every week?) Thursday, April 4th "Ghosts: Hello Brother", Season 3 Episode 6, 8:30 pm on CBS Trevor's brother Jeremy checks into Woodstone after discovering a loophole in the Woodstone Rewards Points program. I'd suggest the attorney from "Tracker" drop by for both legal advice and comic relief, but since this show is a comedy..... "Next Level Chef: Squad Goals", Season 3 Episode 11, 8 pm on Fox The eight remaining competitors must work together in teams to create a cohesive three-course meal; with only 30 minutes on the clock, the team with the winning menu remains safe from elimination. "Elspeth: A Classic New York Character" Season 1 Episode 2 at 9 pm, and "Reality Shock", Episode 3 at 10 pm. After a loathed co-op board president of a luxury building falls to her death off her balcony, Elsbeth and Kaya are called to the scene where they meet Joann, a high-powered Manhattan real estate broker with huge clients and even bigger secrets. and then.... When a larger-than-life reality TV star is found dead in her bathtub, Elsbeth and Kaya investigate the circumstances around her death to determine if it was an accident or murder. Sad we have to have two "Elsbeth"s tonight instead of a "So Help Me Todd" but... since that is the case, we can either enjoy both episodes of this new show... or use one of these hours to chat the finale of "Resident Alien"... Friday, April 5th ... or we can do the "Resident Alien" finale chat on Friday. You guys let me know what you'd like to do. Happy EASTER everyone! These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV People!, How are YOU on this lovely Palm Sunday spring morning? North Carolina is having some lovely weather this weekend. I hear in Canada, maybe not as springlike as they would enjoy. Today is Palm Sunday... which means that next week is Easter. Great news - a four-day work week for me. But it means the other days will be busier than usual; could potentially be running late on some of them. Just a warning.... This week would be the perfect time to enjoy "The Chosen". But I'm a little disgruntled that they chose to launch all eight of the episodes of season four in theatres. I prefer to watch on the TV live streams - and now I might be waiting for a while. Apparently they are having legal issues that are hindering them from even releasing it on their own site. Good grief! It would have been a lovely gift to get to spend time with new "The Chosen" content for Easter. But I guess that won't be happening now. I COULD pull up Netflix and find the Dallas Jenkins movie "The Resurrection of Gavin Stone". Dallas considers this to be his biggest box office flop that he thought had ended his career. But I absolutely LOVE it as an Easter tradition. It was just ahead of its time, Dallas. I bet if he re-released it in theatres today, it might do considerably better. Dallas Jenkins has become famous for his wonderful work on "The Chosen", and Faith-based movies are doing a lot better at the box office today than they were a few years ago. Try it again, Dallas. I love the movie. Too much good TV on these days; it's hard to keep up with it all. I have already started weeding out some things on my "must see" list. But I cannot spend every weekend catching up on missed TV. After all, I must get outside a little while the weather is so good. I did completely catch up on "Animal Control" yesterday. It's Joel McHale at his snarkiest best. Not always the cleanest humour - but funny nonetheless. My favourite scene from yesterday's binge: If this show wasn't on at the same time as "Survivor", I'd try to work in a chat time. But alas, it has too much competition for our little site. Fun little show though. I haven't been keeping up with the rom/com spring movie world on Great American or Hallmark. Will have to check to see if I've missed anything good that I chould on-demand. I'm sure I'll get back to that at some point. In the meantime, how about we move on to our TV week: Sunday, March 24th "Tracker: Lexington", Season 1 Episode 6, 8 pm on CBS Colter reluctantly teams up with his nemesis, fellow reward seeker Billie Matalon, to track down a missing racehorse. Nice of CBS to shift this to 8 pm for us, since it conflicted with "The Way Home" for Ali and I. "The Way Home: Here Without You", Season 2 episode 9, 9 pm on Hallmark All three Landry women feel the absence of a key ally in their lives as they struggle to make life-altering decisions and choices. Only a couple of episodes to go before the end of season two and the great news is... it has already been green lit for a third season! This show is giving us an intriguing mystery. Love it! Monday, March 24th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Finale! Season 28, Episode 11, 9 pm on ABC The emotional conclusion of Joey's journey. Finale! How many minutes will it take them to start up another season? Hee hee. The show has been hinting all season long that Joey will end up alone at the altar because he won't get an acceptance to his proposal. Not a single watcher believes this will happen. I think the biggest suspense of the night will be, who will become the new "Bachelorette" - or, perhaps, will they announce that tonight? "MasterChef Junior: Magic Castle", Season 22 Episode 4, 8 pm on Fox The top eight young chefs journey to the famous Magic Castle to celebrate its 60th anniversary; the chefs split into teams to perform magic on the grill and feed the magicians and staff of the Academy of Magical Arts. I've been enjoying this season, I guess.... but I'm more looking forward to the next adult version. I hear we have a new "Top Chef" getting underway on Bravo; on Wednesday, of course. But still, might have to check that out. I haven't really watched a full season so kind of would like to for once. Also, The Food Network's "Tournament of Champions" is quite fun on Sunday. And sorry for the bunny trail - but I discovered yesterday that if I log into Food Network Go with my Hulu account, I get to catch up with some of its fun content ad-free. I keep saying we are going to drop Hulu Live to save a bit of money, but every time we do that, we end up taking it back. We live too far from the towers to get all the networks with an indoor antenna. I need someone to install a good outdoor antenna. That might be the only way to go, unless we want to go more "suburb" and less "rural", heh. No, I don't see us moving. "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Trustworthy?", Season 1, Episode 5, 10 pm on NBC Failing the banker's test of trust could eliminate one of the remaining nine players from the pursuit of the largest prize in Deal or No Deal history. Call me RTV crazy, but I really enjoy everything about this show. The cast drama. The strategy. The deals with the Banker. I even love Boston Rob's presence in this first season. Those who refused to give it a chance just because of BR, you're missing out; this is a good RTV format for him. I loved last episode. Rob had to play against the banker. Someone calls "Now Rob, the Banker wants you to know. This is a one-time thing. You won't get invited back two, three, four times. This ISN'T Survivor". Hee hee. So amusing. Even got a chuckle out of BR. Tuesday, March 26th The Tuesday shows are back! "Will Trent: It's Easier to Handcuff A Human Being", Season 2 Episode 4, 8 pm on ABC" Will and Faith investigate a small town haunted by the "Boo Hag"; a suspect is quickly assumed, but connections to the past unveil unexpected surprises; Ormewood investigates a TV star's murder; Amanda senses impending danger. It's easier to handcuff as human being... as opposed to a "fill in the blank" (chihuahua?) I guess we will have to watch to find out. "The Rookie: Training Day", Season 6 Episode 4, 9 pm on ABC It's Officer Aaron Thorsen's first day back since the assault, and he's tasked with a series of high-stress cases to determine whether he's ready to work; the team investigates a homicide case with a potential tie to the pentagram killer. Pentagram killer? Do we know about this yet? It's been so long since we've had a new episode, I've forgotten if that was set up in the show already. Wednesday, March 27th "Survivor 46: Tiki Man", Episode 5, 8 to 10 pm on CBS A castaway's memory must serve them well on a journey for an advantage; tensions run high as the hunt for an immunity idol sends one tribe on a wild goose chase. Now that the edit doesn't have to completely focus on the drama of Bhanu, maybe we can get some good game play out of the rest of the cast? Bhanu really did suck all the air out of the room, didn't he? Way too much edit. Way too much drama. Way too much.... Bhanu. Time to move on. (Seriously, no mention of a tribe swap? They are really going to run with only three Yanu and a full six Siga and Yami? Okay....) Maybe it's just because of coming off what has been called worldwide by most fans as the BEST season of "Survivor" of any version anywhere: "Australian Survivor: Titans versus Rebels". But I'm becoming so critical of this USA season. Now that that distraction is over and this will be all I'm focusing on, perhaps I'll start enjoying it more. But having Paramount Plus does give me access to ALL seasons of US "Survivor". I admit, a couple of nights ago, I pulled up season one and watched a few episodes. Kind of fun seeing where the show began. Might be fun to revisit early seasons to recall the "evolution of the game" that we were introduced to in 2002 right up until what we have NOW. Do I have time to watch 47 seasons in order to make this comparison? No, of course not. If I had incentive to watch with the fun of an "Evolution of Survivor" podcast to listen to? Yes, I might be willing to try. This sounds like a good project for RHAP, heh. Get on it, Rob C!! Your fans have spoken! "The Amazing Race: It's Not Over Till Phil Sings", Season 36 Episode 3, 9:30 pm on CBS Teams climb the stairs to the top of El Peñon de Guatapé in Colombia to find their clue and begin the third leg of the race. If they are calling this the THIRD leg, I guess that means that the leg last week was technically leg two. Which means it wasn't a "Mega Leg" - it was two legs with no break in between. I've heard speculation that they do stuff like that for budget purposes. "Who cares if the racers can't get any rest? We need to avoid excessive hotel bills for a night!" Heh. "Resident Alien: Here Comes My Baby", Season 3 Episode 7, 10 pm on Syfy Harry and Asta get surprise visits. Ben grows suspicious of Mike and Liv's private investigation. I see no reason why we can't do this on Thursday like last week, since.... Thursday, March 28th ... we have another week of the NCAA tournament, so no new episodes for our usual chats. "Next Level Chef: It's All Greek To Me", Season 3 Episode 10, 8 pm on Fox Using a bounty of fresh ingredients from the platform, the chef who prepares the best Greek entree wins immunity for their team. This chat can go forward as scheduled. I really do like this. Friday, March 29th Being Good Friday and all, I'm sure I'll be taking the night off chatting. Hope you all have a lovely day off (if you get a day off like I do). And that you have a lovely Easter weekend. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this beautiful almost-spring morning? Just a couple of days away. So far, we have avoided any surprise snow flurries or record colds. It's actually been warm and pleasant outside, though we have had some good rain. March isn't over yet though. Beware! I have finally finished season two of "US Traitors". We have had five seasons this year to enjoy: Traitors US Season 2, Traitors AU Season 2, Traitors UK Season 2 and Traitors NZ Season 1, and Traitors CA Season 1. This show seems to have taken the worldwide RTV world by storm. I hear there is actually a second Canadian version from Quebec but couldn't find anything on it (true, I haven't looked that hard). But of these five that I HAVE seen, here are my thoughts. Last year, I did an entire special page on this. This year, I'll just do it here leaving out spoilery details so that anyone who HASN'T watched can do so spoiler-free. However, if you are on Twitter and follow anything RTV you've probably been spoiled already. My favorite of this season's five? Well, I did enjoy them all. The concept of the show is so delicious, it is hard NOT to enjoy it. Who do you root for - the Traitor or the Faithful? It seems like that should be such an easy answer: always the faithful, right? Well, not so fast. The thing to remember is the "traitors" are playing a game and have no idea going in which part they will play. If they get chosen to be a Traitor and they want to win the game, they must play that part well. That doesn't make them evil real life people. It just makes them good at the kind of strategy you need to win the game as a traitor. I always think it funny when one of the faithfuls get so indignant about it: "I could NEVER be a traitor" when the truth is, if they had been the one chosen at the start, they would have. You wouldn't agree to do a show like this if you weren't willing to play that part you were assigned. And most people find it a better position to be in - because it gives you a lot of power in the game. But anyway..... My favorite this year for the most satisfying conclusion would have to be... Traitors UK. Also, Claudia is such a fantastic host for this; she makes it such fun. I loved this version so much and feel like the Brits did it the best. Best host. Best musical soundtrack, and this time, the best winner. Fantastic fun. Traitor's NZ might be my second favorite just because I really loved the host. And it was the surprise of the season because it launched at the same time as the Australian one, and I had no idea it even existed until it was a few episodes in. Traitor AU: I'm still putting it third on my favorite list even though I hated the way it ended. Love the host so much; he is very fun. I loved the season... right up until the final few minutes of the show. I hear they are not committing to a season three. I hope they change their minds on that. Overall, they did a fantastic job with the concept. But they let this one end on such a sour note and in such an unfair way (in my opinion), it's hard to understand the "why" of it all. Traitors CA did a fine job as well, if you could get past the crazy wardrobe of its host. But overall, a wonderful first season with a very satisfying winner. Traitors US: While I still wish they would give it a newbie cast and put it on network TV for all to enjoy (instead of sentencing it to Peacock and filling it full of RTV hogs), I enjoyed the second season more than the first. I feel host Alan Cumming toned it down a little with his "character", which was good. Overall, a very good cast and some unexpected surprises - Big Brother's Dr. Will being a part of one of the challenges, for example. And he had his rescue dog Lala from Costa Rica as his co-host! Beautiful dog. I imagine it will be next fall before we see any more new versions, but you can bet when they do - I'll be there to join in the fun. Also, if you have Peacock, you can catch the UK and the AU seasons even here in the US. Not sure if they've added NZ but I could see them do that. CA? Fat chance. Canada is far too stingy with their TV shows to ever allow it, hee hee. But what about THIS TV week? Sunday, March 18th Australian Survivor: Titans Vs. Rebels Week 7 - Finale Week! The FINAL week for "Titans versus Rebels" - which some feel is the BEST season this show has seen in Australian history. Others have gone so far as to call it the best version of "Survivor" anywhere, including the USA. (Yes, it tops the list completely for some). Depending on who wins, I might agree with that. I will need to make sure to watch the first episode of the week tonight. And also avoid all social media that might spoil it for me. Hoping I can start right at 7:00 as we have been doing. But I'll be out for a while this afternoon; I will keep you posted. "The Way Home: Lose Yourself", Season 2 episode 8, 9 pm on Hallmark Del, Kat, and Alice learn how events of the past have shaped their family's present. Alice learns a secret that affects her relationship with Elliot. Another fantastic show that we have been chatting at 10 pm. I hope we can do this again tonight and leave 9:00 free for... "Tracker: St. Louis", Season 1 Episode 5, 9 pm on CBS The odds are stacked against Colter as he is tasked by a convicted murderer's teenage daughter to track down a missing witness who could prove her dad's innocence. We will go ahead and shoot for live time at 9 pm. Monday, March 18th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 9, 9 pm on ABC WTA... "The Women Tell All"! Always the most voluminous episode of the year! The screeching never stops as old fights are brought back up again, no one has forgiven, no one has changed their minds, old grudges are still held, and the year's trouble-makers get roasted over the coals and try to convince everyone they've been in the right all along! Not always "The most dramatic one ever", but most certainly the most exhausting one! "Masterchef, Junior", Season 22 Episode 3, 8 pm on Fox The chefs are up for their first team challenge where they are tasked with preparing hearty meals for the Harlem Globetrotters; each team must whip up a meal that satisfies the players' big appetites while meeting their dietary restrictions. The Harlem Globetrotters! Always fun! "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Intuitive?", Season 1, Episode 4, 10 pm on NBC The elusive banker (who we all know is Howie Mandel) aims to assess whether one of the remaining 10 players can bluff their way into securing the highest-value briefcase, bringing them closer to the big prize. Some negative drama between the players last week (which sucked a lot of the fun out of the game for some). But if you're one who watches only for the cast drama, this was your dream episode! Overall, still a fun show. They've turned "Deal or No Deal" into a social strategy game that is interesting to watch. RHAP has dubbed it DONDI and feel it has the potential for a long, long network TV life. We shall see if they are right. Tuesday, March 19th Our normal chat shows are not giving us new episodes for the second consecutive week! I don't know why. Hey! Could it be so that "Australian Survivor" obsessives will have a free night to catch the final two episodes of the season? That's what I'll be doing, anyway. Starting at 8 pm. Wednesday, March 20th "Survivor 46: Don't Touch The Oven", 8 to 10 pm on CBS A castaway must deal with the aftermath of oversharing (Bhanu?) with other tribe members during a journey; one castaway attempts to take the game into their own hands to avoid getting their torch snuffed. Shame to lose a player early to a medical issue. Some are wondering if Randen get the "Bruce" treatment, a guaranteed returned spot, only to get blindsided in eighth place next season? I've seen some speculation that Season 50 will be the season that Probst retires on. No official announcement on that... just speculation. Which raises the question, will they continue with a new host? And will this new host bring us back to the shows beginnings? I can see it now "Survivor 51: Back to the Basics" which will give us an all newbie cast who are more interested in "old school Survivor" game-play, throwing away any talk of "new era". Restore the game back to 39 days. Give us back Ponderosas and Survivor auctions and new and interesting challenges that DON'T always have to end in a puzzle. No more journeys and advantages that are really disadvantages. No more losing your right to vote for any reason. Fewer idols and advantages, a bigger focus on strategy. Return the phrase "Come On In, GUYS" because it was dumb to declare the word "guys" offensive. And get a host that appreciates old school Survivor as much as those of us who love the show and want to see it restored to its former glory. Would love to see it. When the international versions are out-doing us in every way (even the first season of "Survivor UK"), we know we have a problem. Just my opinion. "The Amazing Race: Trust But Verify", Season 36 Episode 2, 9:30 pm on CBS Teams continue the megaleg in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they must choose between detours that get them ready for a fiesta. This show is off to a fun start! There was much confusion about this continuing leg sending the last-place team home mid-leg. Apparently, this has happened before (I read in it a RHAP Facebook group dedicated to chatting all things TAR) Hosted by none other than the RHAP podcast hosts Mike Bloom and Jessica Leise. You don't even have to have a Patreon account to participate! I joined; haven't really participated yet but fun to read all the comments. "Resident Alien: Bye Bye Birdie", Season 3 Episode 6, 10 pm on Syfy Harry hits rock bottom; Kate begins seeing the truth; Mike helps Liv face her greatest fear. I am all caught up, even though I had to do it without a chat, awww (although this past episode with all the "alien bird" affection might have made it a bit uncomfortable to watch for some). If you saw it, you know what I'm talking about. Thursday, March 21st All the CBS Shows are not airing tonight due to NCAA Basketball. We will miss..... But Fox is still giving us a new... "Next Level Chef: You Wanna Pizza Me?", Season 3 Episode 9, 8 pm on Fox The ten remaining contestants step into the kitchen with the goal of elevating the traditional pizza into a next-level masterpiece; the winning pizza gains immunity for the whole team and claims the top-level kitchen spot. Maybe we can delay chat "Resident Alien" tonight then? Friday, March 22nd I would imagine by now, we will have all finished the final week of "Australian Survivor" so nothing to chat, I fear. Unless we want to delay-chat something? We will decide as the week goes on, I guess.
These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this beautiful Sunday morning? Time change weekend. Spring is springing up all around us here in North Carolina. Was out a big chunk of the day yesterday and didn't do much of this page last night, so this heading may be shorter than normal (now that I'm reading it back, who am I kidding?). We have a family birthday today, and since I got nothing done Saturday, I should accomplish something today. I really won't be ready to go back to work tomorrow. Too much to do. Last night, daughter and I watched "The Super Mario Brothers" movie. Not a film I would have watched by myself, but since it won "Best Family Movie of 2023" from Movieguide, I wanted to check it out. So daughter (who had already seen it once and enjoyed it a lot) watched with me. If you were a parent of a kid during the Nintendo Super Mario Brothers craze back when (as I was) this movie holds some sentimental value. I recall when that game first made its way into our home: my son and youngest daughter both loved it so much, they wanted to share it with me. Little known fact about me: I do love games. Not ALL of these kinds of games, but there are a few that can grab my attention. This one I loved mainly because it gave me something to really bond with my kids over. I remember sitting in hotel rooms on those many swim meet or tennis tournament weekends, watching the kids play and trying to help them beat levels. I always had my own file, so that if I had a free minute (or even if I didn't but just wanted to play), I could do so without affecting their progress. It's now been decades since those days. Kids are adults now and the two that cared most both have Nintendo Switches (with the updated version of this game) that they still play now and then. After watching this movie, I had a strong sense of wanting to relive the game. So daughter pulled out her Switch and created a file on her Super Mario game so I could play a few levels. Yeah, games can be addictive in a bad way. That is true. But they can also be bonding moments. Last night was the first time since daughter graduated college in May that we spent a full day together. First, shopping. Then watching this movie that brought back sentimental childhood memories of time spent with my young children, giggling over Mario and Luigi's antics. Then enjoying the updated version of the game together. It was a very good day. And this is the reason the RAT page didn't get done last night. A peek into my world! Now, lets talk about our TV week. Sunday, March 10th The Oscars, Begins at 7pm. From last year's Rat page on Oscar Night.... "No thanks. I'd rather stick three needles in my eye than watch the Oscars. I'd rather go for a cross country million mile run through a blizzard than watch the Oscars. I'd rather go for a swim through eel-infested waters (#ThePrincessBrideHumor) than watch the Oscars. You get the idea. I do not plan to watch. But I know we have some that will. So a page can be done and you all enjoy your evening." I still feel the same. So I guess this means there will be no live chat of.... "Australian Survivor Week 7". No way would I miss the beginning of week seven for the Academy Awards (or really, for any reason). Will go ahead and do a Week Seven page. And if anyone cares to join me, I'm going to watch the first one as soon as I can tonight. I do have a family birthday this afternoon but I imagine I'll be good to go by 7:00. "The Way Home: Somewhere We Used to Know", Season 2 episode 7, 9 pm on Hallmark The Landry women learn things aren't always as they seem as each uncovers new past-and-present truths. Elliot questions how much of Kat's heart is in 1814. I'll probably go ahead with this show too. Unless Ali would like to delay-watch another time? Monday, March 11th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 9, 8 pm on ABC It's Fantasy Suite week! Last week's "hometowns" episode brought the surprise elimination of one lady, meaning the final three consist of the two long-standing front runners and one unexpected surprise. But here's the REAL surprise: the highlight of Fantasy Suite week is NOT going to be sex! The previews showed a shocking note ("Joey, we need to talk...") being handed to the Bachelor. What does it mean? Who is it from? What will the results be? THAT is what we are all curious to see, not the amount of windmill action season 28 will bring! I am completely caught up with "The Voice" and HAVE been enjoying it very much. But no one cares so... moving on... "Masterchef, Junior", Season 22 Episode 2, 8 pm on Fox The remaining eleven contestants are back in the kitchen for a mystery treasure chest challenge; the young chefs prepare a dish using the mystery seafood, as well as incorporate the slimy bonus ingredient, seaweed, into their delicious concoctions. We do have a chat going for this. Fun little show, even if I don't believe these young kids really know as much about cooking as we are lead to think they do. Hard to imagine an eight-year-old knowing intricate details of fine cooking that I myself have never heard of! But still enjoyable. "So You Think You Can Dance: Auditions", Season 18 Episode 2, 9 pm on Fox Delayed chat? Last week we did 10 pm on Tuesday. "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Calculating?", Season 1, Episode 3, 10 pm on NBC With a huge prize on the line, the 11 remaining players compete at dizzying heights; with tensions high, a fight breaks out as one player makes a game-altering decision. Not going to give a long-winded rundown of how this game works as I did last week. There will be a chat. I'm finding it a very fun watch. Tuesday, March 12th Our normal chat shows are not giving us new episodes tonight! So instead... why don't we declare it "Australian Survivor" night"? If we're able to view episode 19 on our own, maybe we can then work in numbers 20 and 21 tonight? Starting at 8 pm so we can keep 10 pm open for SYTYCD. In case you missed this yesterday.... He's suggesting a duel between US and AU Survivor. It isn't the first time this idea has come up, of course (this has been talked about quite a bit, actually). However, I fear that "New Era US" players would not be able to compete in the Australian format. We would need some of our great old school (or "older" school) thinkers to make a go of this: the Tysons or the Tonys or the Denises in our history. Great strategists. People who can hold up under intense physical challenges. Social powerhouses. Players who can last more than a measly 26 days. And what to do with Nina Diaz-Twine? Sandra's daughter from the USA has proven her Survivor worth in Australia but has never played the American version. Somehow, I feel like today's version would feel like a cakewalk to her. Funny to think about. Somehow, I can't help but wonder if a Survivor-US-vs-AU battle would be stifled by Probst. Anyway, shall we finish up the AU week on Tuesday, since our normal chats are not going to happen anyway? Can't believe next week in finale week. It has gone by so fast! Wednesday, March 13th "Survivor 46: Whackadoodles Win", 8 to 10 pm on CBS Several castaways have some explaining to do after a fake idol is played at tribal council; a castaway attempts to fall on the sword for their tribe's loss in the immunity challenge; three castaways take a journey to compete for an advantage. That fake idol seemed so unnecessary. I'm sad to say that I hear through the podcast world that sweet Jess did not have a good experience on Survivor (no matter how friendly a face she was putting on while there). There was NO reason for that fake idol or the effort to humiliate her in that way (not why it was done at all) She wanted to leave. She wasn't enjoying the experience. She wasn't handling it well, physically or mentally, and was ready to leave. They all knew that (How did they all know that? It wasn't televised at all). She had no plans to use her shot in the dark. If anyone had asked her, she would have gladly volunteered to be voted out just to get herself out of the situation (THEY weren't obligated to ask her; SHE was obligated to call a meeting and tell them. Which would have been televised). Why did they feel the need to be so mean? And I am one who had the strong reaction to the idea of "No more villains on Survivor". Perhaps it was this situation that got this comment from Probst. If you are being mean just to be mean with no real strategy behind it... that's the issue (there was, in fact, a very smart strategy behind it) Also, despite Jelinsky's failings, if they had voted Jess out first it would have been better for HER - and they would have had tall Jelinsky's help in that challenge. He would have been very useful this time. so perhaps cutting him loose first, for all of his failings, was a huge mistake. I know that people in the US don't want to admit this... but there IS value in keeping strength during these early days in the game (Catlover, "height" and "strength" are NOT the same thing! SurvivorAU's six-foot seven Eden fully admitted that his "guns" were completely empty. Russell Hantz was a strength machine - and stood five foot six. And five foot tall Denise Stapley was also a physical powerhouse who could out-muscle tribe mates half her age) . It's not always the right choice to think END GAME in the first few days. Maybe think how to get to MERGE with the most people left intact on your tribe should be a FIRST priority. Does WM have any opinions about this? (Yep) Catlover, the fake immunity idol was NOT made to humiliate Jess. It was made to ensure she did NOT use her Shot-In-The-Dark! I don't know why you think she would not have used it. Maybe SHE knew she wanted to go home, but the rest of the tribe didn't. And they were wisely planning for that possibility. In this new era where the SITD exists, tribes need to consider how it could be played before EVERY tribal. If Jess had tried it and it came up "Safe", their plans would have been ruined. Jess alone would have decided who went home, and whatever her choice, they would have been weaker for it. If Jess and come back from the immunity challenge and called a tribe meeting to say "Team, this game is taking more out of me than I could ever have guessed. I'd like to be voted out tonight", not one person would have tried to stop her. They would have sat around for the next few hours doing nothing, told Probst what they would be doing as soon as tribal council started, then voted Jess out according to her wishes. If the Shot-In-The-Dark twist had never been invented - or if Probst had announced that it was being suspended for this episode - a fake immunity idol would never have been made. All that effort - it's creation, the painstaking attempts to LEAD JESS TO IT! , Q's strategizing with her - would not have happened. The tribe deserves kudos for considering it's possibility of ruining their plans. "The Amazing Race, Season 36 Premiere: You Can't Drive While You Are Crying", 9:30 pm on CBS Teams participate in a Mexican rodeo in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; racers go paragliding in Colombia and rally car racing in Argentina. A new season of "The Amazing Race" gets underway tonight. I haven't looked at the cast list. But this show is always a fun ride. Wednesday nights will be busy for a while... Is there any reason to mention all the other Wednesday night shows we won't be chatting: "The Masked Singer" and "Animal Control", both of which I've not caught up on yet? Guess not. Well, maybe this one..... "Resident Alien: Love Bird", Season 3 Episode 5, 10 pm on Syfy Asta and D'arcy take a drastic step in an attempt to get Harry back on track. Sad that we will be losing this chat for "The Amazing Race". Awww. Maybe we can delay-chat it? Thursday, March 14th "Young Sheldon"... anyone following it's final season? It IS interesting to follow as they try to connect all the parts from this show to all the things we knew about Sheldon's family from "The Big Bang Theory". For example, last week we found out where the "Sheldon needs his roommates to follow a bathroom schedule" thing came from, heh. I hear they are setting up a spin-off for Georgie and his little family and that Missy (my favourite of "Young Sheldon", even over Sheldon himself!) will not be a part of it. This makes me sad. I also hear that Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will be in the series finale episode. Looking forward to that. "Ghosts: The Silent Partner", Season 3 Episode 5, 8:30 pm on CBS A big investor backs out of Sam and Jay's restaurant, leaving them to turn to the one ghost who has money -- Isaac. Isaac has money? Interesting.... Last week we saw an inkling of what has become of Flower - an open door for her return. How clever of them! "Next Level Chef: Don't Have a Cow, Man", Season 3 Episode 8, 8 pm on Fox The remaining chefs butcher and break down various cuts of beef amongst their teams to create sizzling steak dishes; two contestants face elimination as they enter a heated seafood cook-off. Always a fun show. There will be a chat. "So Help Me Todd: Dial Margaret For Murder", Season 2 Episode 4, 9 pm on CBS While in the hospital recovering from an emergency appendectomy, Todd is convinced he overheard a plot to murder someone; Todd gets to meet his personal guru, Dick Franks, a grizzled veteran private investigator who shares the hospital room with him. SHMT returns tonight! Yippee!! And if anyone missed "Elsbeth" a couple of weeks ago, the pilot episode is re-airing at 10 pm tonight. I kind of enjoyed it - but the actual season won't start until April. It was the episode that showed me that these days, nobody is taught to put two spaces after a period when learning to type. Huh? Who knew? I've been typing seventy-to-ninety words a minute for most of my adult life. When I learned to type way back when, I would get deducted marks off my grade if I didn't put two spaces after a period. It IS a life-long habit that will never change for me. I do it without even thinking about it... and have for decades. Who knew? (Catlover, do you know if your children space twice or just once after periods? I was curious as to when this rule changed?) Friday, March 15th Unless we want to delay-chat something here, guess it's technically a night off for chats. So I guess we are all on our own.
Can't believe that there are only six more episodes (two more weeks) of Australian Survivor left! It has been such a great season! None of us watching want to wait until Friday to catch up! These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are you on this fine but cloudy, foggy, and threatening to rain Sunday morning? Spring IS in the air here in North Carolina. Yesterday was a beautiful day, very warm and pleasant. But March in NC can be confusing. This season will try to spring early more than once. Flowers will start to bloom. Trees will try to bud. Then we will have a cold spell, sometimes with a few snow flurries mixed in, and everything will freeze. Happens every year. Speaking of snow, I haven't seen so much as one flake this entire winter season. It's been off-and-on cold, sometimes unreasonably cold for NC, but no snow in my area at all. Will we make it officially to spring without seeing any at all? One can only hope. But it IS March. That "In like a lion, out like a lamb" thing doesn't seem to apply here. Sometimes the only snow we see is a random late March one that occurs only to confuse the outside plants and trees. It's more accurate to say "In like a lamb; out like a lion" about the month of March. But enough about the confusing weather in NC. Let's talk TV! Sorry, WM... Ali and I did our week four "Australian Survivor" watch last night without you. I tried to alert you... but you didn't respond. Ah well. Maybe week five we can manage a group watch. There has been far too much new TV to keep up with lately. And I can't think of anything I want to highlight up here. Well, maybe this: If anyone has Great American Family in their TV schedule, you might be able to access their first ever original series, airing Monday nights at 8 pm (but is also available on their streaming site "Great American Pureflix" without ads if you have a subscription. New episodes released on Friday on the app). The show is called "County Rescue" Dani (Julia Reilly) is a young woman of faith who leaves medical school when she feels a call from God to train to be an EMT - much to the frustration of mom and dad, who feel she is throwing her life and talents away. They simply do not understand. But she is steadfast in her faith and goes through her training. The show picks up when she goes to a new job as a rookie EMT. Seems she is one of three being considered for the position: herself, Tim (Riley Hough) and Griffin (Keller Fornes) who is getting this opportunity because he is the fire chief's son. This seems unfair to the other two. Nepotism! I was amused by episode two. Dani and Tim decide they will form a "Survivor-like" alliance against Griffin, who they feel is the shoo-in, considering who he is. But then later, Dani realises maybe there is more to Griffin's story than she knew. More importantly, she found a hidden immunity idol that neither of the guys know about! Pureflix, the streaming app, has many original series in their library. This is the first one to make it's way onto the Great American TV schedule. Nice to see something truly faith-filled on TV for a change. Keep it up, Great American! Okay, now here is a look at our overly busy TV week. Seriously, there is too much. I can't spend every weekend, all weekend catching up on missed TV shows. At some point, I will certainly be weeding some out. Perhaps to catch up on over the summer, when the TV schedule is a lot lighter? Sunday, March 3rd No chats for these two. Caught up on "Tournament of Champions". Already behind on "American Idol". Tournament of Champions, Season 5 Ep 2, on Food Network at 8 pm American Idol Auditions, Season 22, Ep 2 on ABC at 8 pm. "Tracker: Mt. Shasta", Season 1 Episode 4, 9 pm on CBS Colter races against the clock to find the missing teenage son of Reenie's close friend Erika. The move to reduce TV shows might start with this one. You know how I am with these kinds of shows: Justin Hartley or not, for me there needs to be a little humor in order to keep my interest. If it's all dark stories without a chihuahua to lighten things up a bit, I have a hard time sticking with it.(#WillTrentHumour) And let's face it, I'm fully engaged in.... "The Way Home: How To Save A Life", Season 2 episode 6, 9 pm on Hallmark The Landry women reach an emotional climax as Kat works to conjure up a rescue, while Alice sees Del through a wave of grief as old wounds are opened. This show is giving us a fantastic mystery to solve, albeit a confusing one. This is one I will be seeing through to its season conclusion. For this week, we will go ahead with the "Tracker" chat at 9 pm followed by "The Way Home" at 10 pm. We will see how I feel next week. "Australian Survivor" Week 6 Definitely tonight's priority. I, for one, will probably go ahead and watch episode sixteen on 10 Play if it's available early (say 7:00). Not sure if you guys can get a link then; I'm guessing not. I will do a week six page sometime today so it's ready for whenever chats CAN happen. We seem to be doing a lot of "spoiler tag" chats instead of group chats these days,. Monday, March 4th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 8, 8 pm on ABC An excited and anxious Joey makes his way to the hometowns of his four incredible remaining women; Joey has important conversations about what the future may hold for each of them. Hometowns! Let's meet the people who raised these young women search for their soul mates in three months time on exploitive reality TV! This season has been leading up to our introduction to Kelsey's father, whom she had a falling out with when she abandoned his religion. Drama! And guess who will be getting the last date of the night! "The Voice Blind Auditions", Season 25 Episode , 8 to 10 pm on NBC Blind Auditions are off and running. The novelty of having a duo working as one "Coach" wore off pretty fast, though Dan and Shay are pretty funny. Chance the Rapper is a pretty great coach too and - this just in! - who knew he was a fantastic singer as well as a rapper? Will I go the distance with this? I find myself constantly chanting "Don't forget to watch "The Voice"! Don't forget to watch "The Voice"! in my head. Will this be one that falls to the wayside for me? We shall see. This will be followed by.... "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You Calculating?", Season 1, Episode 2, 10 pm on NBC Shots are fired on the elusive banker's private island as the remaining 12 players fracture into alliances; the pressure rises as one player makes a move and gets closer to the biggest prize in "Deal or No Deal" history. I truly enjoyed the premiere. This is not the old "Deal or No Deal" we used to know. It's a lot more complicated (though still stressful) to watch. Deal Or No Deal Island (DONDI) has a lot more to the game. The sequence of events are as follows. First, no longer do the "case models" just stand there and look pretty while opening cases. Now there are only two. In the first episode one played "bartender" to host Joe Manganiello, while the other flew in a helicopter, throwing cases down into a muddy field (I believe they are in Panama). The contestants then have to go find all the cases that will be used in the eventual game. The player who finds the highest dollar amount wins immunity and gets to choose which of the two players who find the least amount will have to face the Banker. (we don't know for sure who it is, but some have speculated it may be Howie Mandell himself). This is where alliance building (stay away from Kelli!) and strategy and the ability to make good social connections come in. If you are one of the two lowest cases, you want to be on good terms with the person who gets to make this decision. What makes this difficult is it is impossible to anticipate who that person will be. How do you plan? The case-finding challenge will not be the same every week. Based on the previews, they are adventure related. I'm sure there will be twists and turns, and many calls from the Banker during this phase from week to week. In the first episode, two red cases were thrown into the mix. One had a small dollar amount (which would be a disadvantage); the other a "steal-a-case" advantage which would allow the player who holds it to take one from another player. Not sure if this will be every week or not (I personally hope not). I mentioned that the person with the highest dollar case in the challenge wins immunity and also gets to choose who to make play against the Banker the normal DOND game out of the two lowest dollar amounts. If that person beats the Banker, he/she gets to choose who to send home out of any of the players (except, of course, the one with immunity). IF that person loses to the Banker, he/she is sent home themselves. Any money earned during the DOND game goes into a prize pot that the eventual winner of the game will receive. In the end, this could be an insanely large amount of money... or not insane at all. It depends on how well our players do against the Banker. I thought the premiere was a good one. I was entertained. And I was even entertained by the RHAP podcast I listened to the next day. The host was fun. The concept is interesting. Some think this show will be around for a long, long time. There will be a page if anyone cares to join us. We have new shows starting up on Fox tonight too... "Masterchef, Junior", Season 22 Episode 1, 8 pm on Fox Twelve young home chefs enter the kitchen to battle it out for the trophy and the $100,000 grand prize; the junior chefs are each given an emoji cookie and have one hour to prepare a dish that represents the emotion behind it. We usually have a few participants for THIS chat, so I'll do a page. "So You Think You Can Dance", Season 18 Premiere, 9 pm on Fox I used to enjoy this show. It's been a while since I've watched an entire season. This will probably be the only time I'll mention it, since I doubt there will be a chat. If anyone plans to watch, let me know. Not going to do a page unless someone indicates an interest in one. Tuesday, March 5th "The Voice Blind Auditions" Episode 4, 9 pm on NBC "Will Trent: You Don't Have To Understand", Season 2 Episode 3, 8 pm on ABC With several civilians dead and one woman missing, Will and Faith question a suspicious pastor ahead of the councilman's ribbon-cutting ceremony; Angie joins Ormewood back in the field to investigate a sauna murder. Now that we are in season two, I'm wondering if I will go the distance. I re-discovered this show watching it by myself to prepare for the start of the sophomore season (there was very little good TV happening then). But NOW there is too much to follow everything. We will have a chat page. Kind of on the fence if I'm going to continue for now. "The Rookie: Trouble In Paradise", Season 6 Episode 3, 9 pm on ABC Nolan and Bailey's honeymoon is more of a nightmare than a dream when it turns into an active crime scene; Tim and Celina partner up and must uncover the identity of a John Doe. Poor Nathan Fillion: on any show he's on, he just can't have a normal wedding. Something will go wrong; trouble always seems to find him. The "Castle" wedding mystery was an intriguing one. Now "The Rookie" is giving him honeymoon problems. Can't the guy just have a normal wedding? Heh. "Alert Missing Persons Unit: Bus 447", Season 2 Episode 1, 9 pm on Fox As the MPU moves into new offices, which comes with new boss Hollis Braun, a call comes in reporting the disappearance of an entire city bus full of students on a field trip. I think I was the only one who stuck with this show last season. I really enjoyed it but wasn't sure if there would be a second season. They wrapped up season one well, making me think it was a one-and-done thing. But we got another one after all, so I'll be checking it out (probably on -demand for now, since "The Rookie"). Wednesday, March 6th "Survivor 46: Scorpio Energy", 8 to 10 pm on CBS One tribe struggles to keep their heads in the game after the first tribal council of the season; tribes must use teamwork and persistence during the immunity challenge to keep them from heading to tribal council. Poor Jelinsky. Whoever taught him that "several" means "seven" ("It's right in the word!" Uh, no it isn't...) made him look silly on national TV. Excerpt from the RHAP exit interview: Rob C: "So how many holes would you say were in that bucket for the Sweat challenge? Several?" Jelinsky: "No, just five". Rob C's chuckle was audible at this response. So what did we think about the premiere? Did we enjoy it? Do we think the season has potential? Still too early for me to tell, but episode one was enjoyable. The chat, as always, was the best part for us. We will see what we think as the season goes on. "The Masked Singer: Rita We Love Your Ora", Season 11 Episode 1, 8 pm on Fox The season premiere kicks off with an exciting performance by new panelist Rita Ora; special celebrity performances and a jaw-dropping reveal no one sees coming. No Nicole this season. Awwww! This show really is a lot more fun with a chat but being on opposite "Survivor" (the reason this site was created), makes it hard to work a chat in. Last season, I didn't go the distance with it. We will see what happens in 2024. "Animal Control: Raccoons and Mutts", Season 2 Episode 1,9 pm on Fox When Shred wallows over Emily's blossoming relationship with Rick, Frank decides to cheer him up with a special adventure; the group is shocked to learn Victoria is in a green card marriage. Fun little show. Shame it has so much competition. But I will on-demand it for sure. I mean... it's Joel McHale! "Resident Alien: Avian Flue", Season 3 Episode 4, 10 pm on Syfy Harry gets distracted from his mission, while Mike and Liv make a huge discovery. For now, this will be the second chat of the night. We will have to figure out another plan once "The Amazing Race" starts airing in two weeks. Thursday, March 7th "Ghosts: Halloween 3, The Guest Who Wouldn't Leave", Season 3 Episode 4, 8:30 pm on CBS Pete's ex-wife, Carol, shows up at Woodstone Mansion during Sam and Jay's Halloween party, where they're trying to impress some cool friends; the ghosts hope to bring Flower back with a seance. You can tell THIS episode was originally supposed to air last October! "Next Level Chef: On The Go", Season 3 Episode 7, 8 pm on Fox The chefs are tasked with preparing a next-level international street food dish; the platform never stops moving throughout the challenge. Still my priority. Glad Ali is with me on this. The BAD news is, no new "So Help Me Todd" tonight.... (Already? But the season just started!) Booo! (Also, no "Elsbeth" this night for the next few weeks) But the good news is that this night might end up being a good "Australian Survivor" night.... Friday, March 8th ... or we could just do it here like normal. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments. Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Good morning RTV people, How are YOU on this lovely Sunday morning? Sunny and chili here... I'm sure the afternoon will be pleasant enough to want to be outside a little. What to ramble on about this morning? Let's see. I've not been keeping up with the rom/com world lately. Too many other distractions, I guess. Ali and I DID make it through the final two episodes of "Quantum Leap" last night. Fantastic end to the season, we thought. Tying up the season's story in an interesting way that makes you feel like if the story ends there, it at least ended well. But at the same time, giving us perhaps a little look at what a season three might look like. We decided if the show stops there, it was a satisfying conclusion. But how much fun will it be to see Ben and Addison leaping through time doing their missions together! So many possibilities there.... hope it continues in the fall. After doing a quick search for news, I'm thinking that it will. This upcoming week, we get the return of "Survivor Season 46". Wish I was more enthusiastic about the upcoming season. It's not just me that feels that the "new era" of Survivor is making the show nowhere close to what it used to be. I read they are dropping the "auction" again this season. Did they not notice how enthusiastic the fans were to see it return last time? Maybe the problem is that CBS doesn't want to give it as much of a budget anymore? Who knows? I read a conversation a while back with dedicated fans who feel that if the show makes it to season 50, that should be the last for Probst. They need to find someone NEW to take over; someone with the energy and drive to restore it back to something closer to the game we all fell in love with eons ago. Pipe dream? Perhaps. But one can hope. Sorry for my lack of enthusiasm. I hope this upcoming season is good; but, I admit to having low expectations. But I CAN say I did enjoy "Survivor 45" more than I thought I would. At least we have some fantastic internationals going on these days. Did you know that an episode of "Australian Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains" made the NY Times list of best TV episodes of 2023? Amazing, since the Australian version doesn't even air in the US. You have to use a vpn or find some other deep underground way to access it. And apparently the editors of the New York Times do! And yet, the NY Times recognized it on their "Best of" list. "US Survivor", I challenge you: prove us all wrong this season. Give us a season to be excited about! And then I looked at the cast. Uh, yeah... back to not expecting much again. But of course I will still watch and chat and enjoy the fun we on this site have with it. I just hope it's a good season. Please. I WANT to be proven wrong! Probst and CBS should ask themselves this; what is it about international "Survivor"s that has longtime-and-dedicated US Survivor fans flocking to underground sources to watch? What are those shows doing differently or better than the US these days? How can we bring American fans back into the fold with all the enthusiasm they used to possess? Fix "US Survivor", Probst. That's my plea. Okay, moving on to this week's TV Week.... Sunday, February 25th Of course, there are competition shows I enjoy: Tournament of Champions, Season 5 Ep 2, on Food Network at 8 pm American Idol Auditions, Season 22, Ep 2 on ABC at 8 pm. But as far as our "chat" shows for tonight.... "Tracker: Springland", Season 1 Episode 3, 9 pm on CBS As Colter helps a young woman locate her free-spirited sister, he digs deeper into how her last days may lead to a dark secret she unearthed in this tight-knit town. This sounds ominous.... "The Way Home: Long Time Gone", Season 2 episode 5, 9 pm on Hallmark Founder's Day in Port Haven brings up memories for Del, Alice and Elliot; Kat finds herself caught between two worlds in her search for answers. Elliot wearing a badge that says "Ask me about my family". Yeah, I would like to know more myself. About Elliot. There is some mystery there... I suggest "Tracker" at 9 pm followed by "The Way Home" on demand at 10 pm. A question for our "Australian Survivor" obsessed people: how would you feel about squeezing in episode 13 (the MERGE!) early.. perhaps 7 pm-ish? It was such fun last week... but so many schedule complications now! I'm going to go ahead and get a page ready for the week, just in case. Also, not really sure an episode will be available early tonight; we will have to see if one turns up. Monday, February 26th "The Bachelor: Joey Graziadei", Season 28, Episode 7, 8 pm on ABC Still in Canada! But out west this time,to Alberta. For outdoor activities and romance, and .... deciding who will get the coveted home-town dates - next week? The end is near;the stakes are higher! Time for final four predictions! "The Voice Blind Auditions, Season 25 Episode 1, 8 to 9:30 pm on NBC I know some of you get upset over "duets" as contestants on "The Voice". How do you feel about a "duet" Coaches team. Also, Reba is the only one representing for women? We've gone back to where the show started twenty-five seasons ago when Christina Aguilera was the only woman in a field of male coaches Blake, Adam and Ceelo. And they didn't just replace the one female coach with another guy... they replaced her with TWO guys! How is this fair? Just kidding. I enjoy this show sometimes. So will probably check it out... however, if we can't work in an "Australian Survivor" tonight, I might do "The Voice" on-demand so I can work one in before.... This! The much anticipated and over-promoted new twist on an old game show... "Deal or No Deal Island: Are You A Gambler", Season 1 Premiere, 9:30 pm to 11 pm . Thirteen players gather on the elusive banker's private island to hunt for briefcases worth more than $200 million in hopes of being the last contender standing. Yes, I'm going there. I know some have indicated extreme disinterest. However, I really would like to check it out. Yesterday I listened to an RHAP podcast between Rob C and Boston Rob. Entertaining chat they had - and now, I want to know more. If anyone would care to join me, I'll have a page ready. It DOES seem like a perfect kind of show for a site that calls itself "RTV Fanatics Unite", right? And, according to Boston Rob, great host and interesting concept (Howie Mandell is involved too. There was speculation that HE could be the Banker, and not just a producer? Hmmm) and has potential to be around for a long, long time. We'll see. Tuesday, February 27th "The Voice Blind Auditions Episode 2" 8 pm on NBC This is why I have trouble with "The Voice": two episodes a week on back-to-back nights. I can usually get the Monday in but then miss Tuesday nearly every week. Maybe I SHOULD reduce it to on-demand on Monday and use that time to work in "Australian Survivor". It's a thought (thinking out loud here). Oh, and if anyone doesn't catch "Deal or No Deal Island" on Monday, it is being replayed on Tuesday. :-}} Anyway, about Tuesday chats: "Will Trent: It's the Work I Signed Up For", Season 2 Episode 2, 8 pm on ABC Will confronts James at the prison, unraveling inmate secrets; Ormewood works on his familial relationships; Angie faces a pivotal moment that brings back memories from her past. I was very sad last week that we met Cricket - and immediately lost her. The big question is... will I continue to be interested in continuing the season? We shall see. "The Rookie: The Hammer", Season 6 Episode 2, 9 pm on ABC The team comes together to celebrate John and Bailey's wedding; Celina discovers a discrepancy in her case, leading to a new discovery; Lucy and Tim's relationship is put to the test. Is it wedding day? Think anything will go wrong (Ha!)? From the description, it doesn't sound like it. But what about Lucy and Tim? Their relationship has been put to the test ever since they began it, right? Such a fun show. Wednesday, February 28th "Survivor 46: This Is Where The Legends Are Made", 8 to 10 pm on CBS Eighteen new castaways embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they are left stranded on the islands of Fiji; tribes must be the first to crack the code to earn essential camp supplies; three castaways go on a journey away from their new tribes. After all the negativity at the start of this column, let me just say how much I'm looking forward to the challenge pictured where they are climbing over a giant Probst! Now THERE's a twist! There will, of course, be a page. I might do it early in order to introduce cast and all. We shall see. "Wild Cards: Con With the Wind", Season 1 Episode 7, 8 pm on The CW George gets a three-day pass from jail to spend his birthday with Max and feels the urge to pull one more con; Ellis helps a troubled youth charged with breaking and entering after he discovers it's a teen his brother used to know. My question is, will you guys still be able to work in a chat for THIS? "Resident Alien: 141 Seconds", Season 3 Episode 3, 10 pm on Syfy Harry tags along on Ben, Kate and Max's family trip, hoping the mayor will lead him to answers. For now, the chat for this show is safe. Whew! Thursday, February 29th "Ghosts: He Sees Dead People", Season 3 Episode 3, 8:30 pm on CBS When Jay's sister and her boyfriend visit Woodstone Mansion, Eric reveals a major change that took place after his near-death experience there over Christmas. I don't recall an Eric or any near-death experience that he had, and I think I've seen every episode. Hmmm. Remind me, someone. "Next Level Chef: 80 Degrees and Palm Trees", Season 3 Episode 6, 8 pm on Fox The 13 remaining chefs channel their vacation vibes when they're tasked with preparing a seafood dish inspired by tropical island cuisine; the winning dish gives the entire team immunity and claims the top-level kitchen for the next challenge. This one still my choice over "Ghosts" "So Help Me Todd: The Queen of Courts", Season 2 Episode 3, 9 pm on CBS Margaret and Todd defend the "Queen of Hearts," a notoriously unscrupulous lawyer accused of orchestrating a fraudulent accident that resulted in the death of a "fake victim." Just the show synopsis alone makes me chuckle. "Elspeth", Season 1 Episode 1, 10 pm on CBS When a college theater student is mysteriously found dead in her high-rise New York City apartment, Elsbeth immediately suspects foul play and enters a game of wits against the victim's popular theater director Alex Modarian. I've seen a bit of chatter over this show so thought I'd mention it. I was never a fan of "The Good Wife". Not sure about this one, but if anyone cares for a chat page let me know. Haven't decided yet. I mean, there are so many other shows going on right now. Not sure I have room for another one. But we'll see. I might check it out. Friday, March 1st "Fire Country: See You Next Apocalypse", Season 2 Episode 3, 9 pm on CBS When a family refuses to evacuate their property during a massive wildfire that is escalating quickly, Jake is faced with a heartbreaking decision. This is proving to be a great little show; however.... I would imagine this will be the main group chat night for "Australian Survivor" for this week so I plan to keep it wide open for that. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
