This blog has temporarily been converted to a "travel blog". That's right, EJETSON is taking a road trip. Those of us who never get to go anywhere would love seeing pics and hearing interesting tidbits from along the way. I'll let HIM tell you all about where he is going and what he hopes to enjoy - baseball, baseball, and more baseball, from what I understand - but I'm sure that he has other activities planned too. Right, EJetson?
The site will go back to normal when his vacation is over... awwwww. But until then, what fun might we all get to have with him along the way! Estimated time of departure is Thursday morning, 8/26/21. We look forward to hearing all about EJETSON'S vacation. Hope you have a fabulous time! Catlover04

Hello Fans of the Olympic Games, The final day of competition. The closing ceremonies. All this marks the return of a normal TV schedule. I was sort of hit and miss with this Olympics. Too busy, for one. To many evening TV conflicts. Maybe the next one will strike my interest in a bigger way. I love the Winter Olympics, generally. So we will see. I tried. Hope it's readable. heh. Who wants to chat the final day of The Olympic Games. Not sure of the source Ali is using for the medal count... Help. I'll keep looking and post it when I find a good one.... in the meantime, here is the chat page for Day 15. Good morning everyone! Happy Friday! Happy Day 14!
I swear, every time I'm making this post, Canada wins another medal! This time for our long distance track runner, Mo Ahmed. Also right now, the women's soccer/football team is playing for Gold against Sweden. Other noteworthy things from yesterday - the Chinese 10m divers. Absolutely incredible dives. Both girls are so young, only 14 and 15, so we may see them again in Paris in 3 years. On to the standings as of 8:40: I was just setting up this page for today when Canada won a Gold in the Decathlon! Incredible performance by Damian Warner. So now I have to wait for the medal standings to update before I post them. What a start to my day!
Last night was the first ever award for the C-1 200m for women. Congrats to the US for the Gold and Canada for the Silver. I love when our two countries can celebrate together! On to the updated medal standings as of 8:50am: Happy Wednesday!! I'm just anxiously sitting here waiting for Andre de Grasse to run his 200m. Should be any minute now! Maybe he'll manage to get our second medal by a male at this Olympics. Also to keep an eye on for Canada, Aaron Brown, who is also running in the 200m, Damian Warner who is currently in first place in the Decathalon and Pierce LePage who is in third after 4 events, the women's soccer final. For the US, every event is an opportunity for a medal! If there's anything to keep an eye on, let me know in the comments below.
Here's the standings before the 200m. It may likely change but I don't want to jinx it. Back to work means back to normal schedule of posting this page. Good morning everyone!
Simone Biles did participate in the balance beam final this morning - though I haven't seen it yet. I'm sure I'll be able to see it about 50 times before the end of the day. I'm so happy that she was able to do the one event! Great job Simone! Here's the standings: Extra late posting today. That's what comes with a Civic Holiday in Ontario. I get lazy and post late. Back to regular time tomorrow!
A lot happened yesterday, but frankly I can't remember it. I do remember that Qatar and Italy were tied in the high jump and both were so exhausted that instead of doing a jump off, the athlete from Qatar asked if they could just share the Gold. A really touching moment and they were both so happy with the decision. I don't blame them. It's freaking HOT in Tokyo right now! I'm surprised any of the people can do what they do! On to day 10! Here are the standings so far: |
