Hello Fans of Christmas Movies! A couple of weeks into this... what movies have been the winners so far? Quite a few for me. Pretty much anything airing on Great American. I've loved them all. Last week, my favorites were... "Dash of Christmas" with Laura Osnos and Christopher Russell did not disappoint. Seriously, Christopher Russell could not Be more charming. "Mystery on Mistletoe Lane" on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries was a delightful bit of fun with plenty of mystery to solve. I really enjoyed this one a lot. "The Santa Summit" on Hallmark, was the surprise for me this past week. What a fun little movie. I liked it so much, I watched it twice. Honorable mention goes to UpTV's "We're Scrooged". A little slow at the start but overall, as is the case with ALL takes on this classic Dicken's tale, there was a fantastic, and very timely, message for today. So what do we have coming up this weekend? You know, I really should be doing earlier because the fun really begins on Friday. So, I'll be mentioning last night's movie on Hallmark first, even though we have already watched and chatted through it. Friday, November 10th "Everything Christmas", 8 pm on Hallmark, starring Cindy Busby and Corey Sevier A woman and her roommate embark on a road trip to Yuletide Springs, a town where Christmas is celebrated year-round. Delightful movie, as all movies with Cindy Busby are, but will save it for next week as far as rating it on the favorites list. We have so much more fun to have! Saturday, November 11th "Christmas Keepsake", 8 pm on Great American, starring Jillian Murray and Daniel Lissing A father (Lissing) bonds with his daughter and stumbles upon an unexpected romance (Murray) while tracking down the original owner of a Christmas time capsule. A couple of things I didn't know. Daniel Lissing is Australian? I heard we will get to hear him use his native Australian accent in this movie. Why did I always assume he was Canadian? Also, now that Great American and Pureflix have merged, it seems these new movies are available to stream on Pureflix before actually airing on the network. Good to know. "Christmas Island", 8 pm on Hallmark, starring Rachel Skarsten and Andrew Walker When a snowstorm diverts Kate's first private flight to Christmas Island, she must team up with an air traffic controller to secure her dream job as the family's pilot. This one does look fun. Always like Andrew Walker. And if you don't change the channel when it's over, you could get to see one of last year's favorites with Andrew Walker. "Three Wise Men and a Baby". Sunday, November 12th "Christmas Time Capsule", 7 pm on UpTV, starring Marco Deufemia and Paula Tiberius When Tiffany’s best friend James arrives at her house looking for the family heirloom engagement ring he left in her care, she quickly realizes that he wants to use it to propose to another woman. Now Tiffany has 3 days, a road trip and some Christmas magic to make James realize that the woman he really wants has been in front of him the whole time. "A Christmas Blessing", 8 pm on Great American, starring Lori Laughlin and James Tupper A TV chef is divinely inspired to take over her late aunt's charity with help from a new friend and handsome neighbor. "A Heidelberg Holiday", 8 pm on Hallmark, starring Ginna Mason and Frédéric Brossier Heidi Heidelberg receives a dream opportunity to sell her beautiful, handmade glass ornaments at the prestigious Heidelberg Christmas Market in Germany. While there, she meets Lukas, a local artisan who helps her reconnect with her lost heritage. Thursday, November 16th "A World Record Christmas", 8 pm on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries starring Nikki Deloach, Lucas Bryant, and Aias Dalman An autistic boy attempts to break a world record on Christmas Eve, uniting his family and community in the process. Inspired by real events. Not your typical Rom-Com, but wanted to include it because it could be a wonderful, heartwarming story. So many Christmas movies; so little time. The Christmas Movie season is up and running! Enjoy!

Hello fans of the Christmas Movie Season! I didn't make it to doing this page early, did I? My week gets away from me sometimes. In fact, I almost feel like I should just do this on the Sunday page but then people who could care less about it will be forced to see all the news. However, they are seeing it anyway so... will think some more on it but in the meantime... what about today and tomorrow's new movie premieres? Keep in mind, both Great American and Hallmark are running these movies 24/7 already so great time of year to re-live some of the oldie's and get to know some new ones. UPTV will begin their tomorrow. And, Lifetime, November 18th. Beginning with Great American Family.... Saturday, November 4th "A Dash of Christmas", 8 pm, starring Laura Osnes and Christopher Russell To apply for her dream job at a foodie startup, an executive must learn to bake. When she recruits a handsome baker to help her, she inadvertently ends up in a Christmas Bakeoff. Great American hasn't had a bad one yet.... I've enjoyed them ALL. On Hallmark, we have... "Never Been Chris'd", 8 pm starring Janel Parish and Tyler Hines Home for the holidays, BFFs Naomi and Liz reconnect with high school crush Chris Silver. A complex love triangle forms, forcing them to take stock of their lives and find the value of friendship. This one has potential... I think. Sunday, November 5th "We're Scrooged", 7 pm on UpTV, starring Tamara Duarte and Andrew Bushell When ex-high school sweethearts return to Minneapolis for the Christmas Snowball 10-year high school reunion weekend, they each check in to the hotel single and alone. Although their friends called them “Ross and Rachel,” Sarah and Scott parted ways after college and pursued their high-end careers. After a run-in at the kickoff event, they are both warned that they are going to be visited by 3 Christmas ghosts over the next 3 days. While dreaming each night, they have shared experiences reliving their past and present Christmases. These unsettling yet comedic visits help them both see what they gave up. And that they gave up on each other. When the Ghost of Christmas Future visits them separately, they must each make a choice to reunite or lose their love forever. A take on a classic Dicken's tale. Will have to make sure to catch this one. "Our Christmas Wedding", 8 pm on Great American, starring Holly Deveaux and Drew Seeley Roles reverse as Nicole's boss plans newly engaged Nicole and Michael's wedding in two weeks at Christmas. Is this a sequel to something? Anyone know? "The Santa Summit", 8 pm on Hallmark, starring Hunter King and Ben Hollingsworth Jordin returns home to regroup after setbacks, and attends the town's annual holiday celebration with friends. She bonds with Liam, but doesn't get his name before they're separated in a sea of Santas. Lost in a sea of Santa's. Sounds almost nightmareish. heh. Really like Ben Hollingsworth so I'm sure I'll try to catch this one. A full list of schedules for this Holiday Season... though I hear that Ion TV has some pretty good ones but a schedule is not yet available. So many Christmas movies; so little time. The Christmas Movie season is up and running! Enjoy!
Hello fans of the Christmas Movie Season! Our weekly look at Christmas movie fun. Next week, I will make it a point to do this early... say Thursday... to include anything new coming up on Thursday night and Friday and I really need to not neglect the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel, because some new ones are showing up there. But for right ... we are just concerned with tonight and tomorrow and I am focused only on NEW movie Premiere's. Keep in mind, both Great American and Hallmark are running these movies 24/7 already so great time of year to re-live some of the oldie's and get to know some new ones. UpTV will start their run on November 5th. Lifetime, November 18th Beginning with Great American Family.... Saturday, October 28th "Bringing Christmas Home", 8 pm, starring Jill Wagner and Paul Greene A professor of military history teams with an antique store owner to help track down the original owner of a historic World War II uniform and the love letters in its pockets. This movie sounds right up my ally so will probably be my first priority tonight. On Hallmark, we have... "Mystic Christmas", 8 pm starring Jessie Schram and Chandler Massey A woman reconnects with the owner of a pizza shop while working at a rehabilitation center and aquarium during the holidays. A pizza shop in Mystic, NJ. Sound familiar? Sunday, October 29th "Journey to Christmas", 8 pm on Great American, starring Ash Tsai and Joey Heyworth A winter storm forces a New York City fashion model to spend the week before Christmas with her chauffeur and his extended family in rural America. Two worlds collide, huh? Not an uncommon theme for a movie like this. "Joyeux Noel", 8 pm on Hallmark, starring Jaicy Elliot and Brant Daugherty When a romantic painting of a Christmas market captures the imagination of copy editor Lea, she travels to France with a pragmatic reporter to uncover the mystery behind the artist. Sounds interesting. Found a separate checklist for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.... If we have anyone who'd like to chat through a movie or two as the season goes on, we could just make these pages the place to do it! Let me know if there is any interest in that. So many Christmas movies; so little time. The Christmas Movie season is up and running! Enjoy! Hello fans of the Christmas Movie Season! I have good intentions, but just don't really have time in my life to do a full schedule every weekend as I did last season... so instead, we will focus on Movie Premiere's. Keep in mind, both Great American and Hallmark are running these movies 24/7 already so great time of year to re-live some of the oldie's and get to know some new ones. UpTV will start their run on November 5th. Lifetime, November 18th News for Christmas Movie Lovers for Today For NEW Movie Premiere's... we have "Twas The Text Before Christmas" Premiere, 8 pm on Great American Family Addie and Nana develop a close friendship after an accidental text message. Addie goes to visit Nana, where she meets Nana's only son, James. James and Addie start to view each other differently after years of spending holidays together. Two Rom Com Favorites, Trevor Donovan and Merritt Patterson, star in this one making it a "must see" for fans of Great American Movies. . If you missed last night's new movie on Hallmark, you have a second chance to catch it today! "Checking It Twice", 6 pm on Hallmark Starring Kim Matula and Kevin McGarry, Sparks fly between a hockey player and a real estate agent after he moves into a cottage in her family's backyard. An unplanned, spontaneous chat broke out over this movie last night (in the most unlikely of places - a chat page designated for Quantum Leap) - which turned out to be quite a fun one. I mean... it stars WCTH favorite Kevin McGarry. What's not to love. "Where Are You, Christmas?", 8 pm on Hallmark Starring Lyndsy Fonseca and Michael Rady. Addy wishes for a year without Christmas and wakes up in a black-and-white world. She must work together with the town mechanic to restore the holiday to all its glory. I wonder just what they must DO to restore Christmas? We will have to watch to find out. Why do I find it funny that in both of these new movies, the main character's name is "Addie (y)"? Sunday, October 22nd "Under The Christmas Sky", 8 pm on Hallmark Starring Jessica Kennedy and Ryan Peavey, Sparks fly between astronaut Kat and by-the-book David when they work on a planetarium exhibit that's opening right before Christmas. The Great American New Movie Premiere Schedule for Christmas 2023 The Hallmark List of New Christmas Movie Premieres for 2023! The UpTV New Christmas Movie Premiere List for Christmas 2023 Lifetime New Christmas Movie List for Christmas 2023 I hear that ION TV is another source but was unable to find a schedule. Will have to check again sometime. The Christmas Movie season is up and running! Enjoy! Hello Fans of what we have lovingly referred to on this site as "cheesy Rom-Com Fun". Technically, that used to be "cheesy Hallmark" which DOES still apply but I spend a lot more time on Great American these days. I am a bit late for Fall fun, but Christmas is right around the corner so I thought it might be fun to take a look at first... the rest of Fall; and then Preview the upcoming Christmas Rom-Com season. Since last season, we have had one huge development. Great American Media has merged with Pureflix to become "Great American Pure Flix". Bill Abbott, the CEO of Great American has purchased the Pureflix App and rebranded it as the "streaming wing" of Great American Media called "Great American Pureflix". What this means is that now, some of the fantastic Pureflix originals will find some air time on Great American. AND, the streaming app will include not just the incredible catalogue of faith based movies, but now also the Great American originals. The perfect blend, if you ask me. I'm excited about it and last night's watch of a Pureflix Original is proof of why. My FIRST Movie Highlight The Devine Influencer A wealthy 20-something influencer, loses financial support from her parents and takes a job at a homeless shelter for the wrong reasons. However, she soon discovers the true meaning of influence. This movie was amazing. Aside from starring lovely Lara Silva, who The Chosen fans know well as Peter's wife, Eden; it has such a beautiful message so timely for today's world of people who are self-absorbed and thinking the best way to earn a living for themselves is to brand their face all over social media as an "influencer". Our young 20-someting, Olivia, has parents who love her and want to see her re-direct her life to more selfless living and with a Godly purpose so they pull the plug on her financial support and pray that God will help their lovely daughter find her way. This "tough love" from Mom and Dad forces her to take a hard look at her life and the choices she has made and also helps her tap into the compassionate side of herself. I loved everything about this movie. It made me laugh, cry, smile... well worth the watch. And I'm sure I WILL re-watch more than once. Available to stream on Great American Pureflix and hopefully GAFamily will make room for it somewhere on their network soon. Now that we are mid-September and most of these sites have already begun their Fall Movie Fun, how about we take a look at what fun ones have already aired and what we have to look forward to upcoming. Great American Family Pureflix: Fall Movies A couple of the new Fall movies have already aired but never fear... they will air multiple times, I'm sure. But I still want to mention them.
Great American Family The Great American App is telling me we have 34 days until the Christmas Movie season begins, but until then, we have plenty to look forward to.
The Christmas season is right around the corner and while they have made some announcements about upcoming movies, I think I will save that for another page. One completely focused on Christmas. Soon... hopefully. Hallmark has had a couple of good ones this Fall as well... Of the ones I"ve seen...
Out of time to research more on Hallmark. I'm sure they have more but I need research deeper so will stop here. Not really seeing a lot of new movie content for Up; however, I did find a good graphic of their upcoming Christmas season. Oops... out of time. Will have to look deeper at the upcoming Christmas Season movie list for all sources soon. I wasn't able to come up with a good graphic for Hallmark or Great American even though movie titles are for sure available. Will try to compile a graphic of my own soon.
However, as I recall, some of my most favorite ones from last season were actually on UpTV. For now, out of time but it is a start for Fall/Christmas fun for those who love Christmas/Rom Com/Cheesy Hallmark movies. This is the final week I will be doing this page. It HAS been fun, but I admit, I haven't seen nearly as many of these as I thought I would make time for and it has become a bit of a chore. Last weekend, my favorites were... 1. The Crown Prince of Christmas on Great American was hands down my favorite. The story was sweet. The cast was fantastic. Loved everything about this one. 2. The Art of Christmas on Great American was a close second. 3. The Gift of Peace on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries was also very good. It was a movie for those who struggle at Christmas due to the loss of a loved one or due to hardships. A woman who lost her husband and couldn't find herself after, joins a Church support group to find healing. It was a nice movie as well. I also watched one on HBO MAX called "Holiday Harmony" which might be at the top of my favorite list for the year. I really loved it. "A young woman gets the opportunity of a lifetime when she is chosen to be one of five opening acts for an IHeart Radio Christmas Eve show but, on the way, there, she has an accident with her van that will require some expensive repairs so while she waits, she agrees to help the towns school music program prepare for a contest that could save their music program." That description sounds like a sappy romance, but it really didn't feel like one while watching; I was thinking of "Doc Hollywood" all the way through. The similarities were astounding. Moving on to this week... Starting with Great American Family - Where I am going to skip the calendar because it is not correct anyway. But I will post the link to their website schedule: Schedule - Great American Family Saturday, December 17th at 8 pm "Aisle Be Home For Christmas", starring Jennifer Freeman and Garrett Watson ![]() Two exes reconnect when a snowstorm leaves them stranded in a superstore (without cell service or Wi-Fi) just before Christmas. This one looks like fun and will probably be first priority for me tomorrow night. While I am taking a road trip tomorrow despite the frigid cold weather we are supposed to be having, but I should be home by this time. Sunday, December 18th "A Brush With Christmas" starring Jillian Murray and Joseph Cannata Disheartened and struggling to find time for her art, Charlotte throws out her latest painting, only to discover that it has been anonymously submitted to the Christmas art festival. This will be the third Jillian Murray movie I've seen this Christmas. One on UPTV (Christmas at the Pines), one on Pureflix (An Unlikely Angel), and now this one on Great American. She's quickly becoming a favorite. On Hallmark, we have three new ones this weekend. Friday, December 16th "Holiday Heritage" starring Lyndie Greenwood and Brooks Darnell Ella returns to her hometown to mend fences with her fractured family. With help from her ex-boyfriend, she encourages her family to celebrate Christmas and Kwanzaa and heal their past wounds before it's too late. Saturday, December 17th "Twas The Night Before Christmas" starring Torre DeVitto and Zane Holtz A former actress takes charge of a town's annual Christmas Eve courtroom production, in which the true authorship of the famous poem "A Visit From St. Nick" is debated. Fun theme. Sunday, December 18th Hanukkah on the Rye starring Yael Grobglas and Jeremy Jordon A matchmaker connects two deli owners during Hanukkah, but their new romance gets put to the test when they realize they're competing against each other. Two more weekends for UpTV... Saturday, December 17th Sappy Holiday starring Ariella Cannon and Troy Blundell Stranded in a small town after her car breaks down, Joy meets the charming James, a local trying to save his family’s maple farm. Sunday, December 18th An Eclectic Christmas starring Hannah Galway and Jeremy Walmsley When a smalltown vintage store owner leaves instructions in her will for inventory to be distributed as Christmas gifts, her out-of-town niece seeks help from a handsome local in identifying recipients from the clues provided. Saturday, December 24th The Snowball Effect, starring Rival meteorologists tracking a massive snowstorm in the town of Mistletoe must work together to get home in time for Christmas. Sunday, December 25th Christmas in Wolf Creek starring When a runaway reindeer threatens the annual Christmas play, a struggling couple must work together to save Christmas for the town and each other. I admit, I have some catching up to do on UpTV. And finally, "It's a Wonderful Lifetime", on Lifetime Saturday, December 17th "The Holiday Dating Guide" starring Maria Menounos and Brent Bailey Abigale Slater makes her lifelong dream come true when she finishes her first book -- a guide to dating in the modern world. However, to satisfy her publisher, Abigale must prove her advice works by making a man fall for her within the next 12 days. Sunday, December 18th Wrapped Up in Love starring "Christmas Queen" Ashley meets her match in Ben, a handsome new guy in town, who loves Christmas just as much as she does. They join forces to make Christmas even more meaningful.
And this concludes the "Christmas Movie" fun page for the season. My focus will now turn to the Annual Holiday Page, which will arrive on the site tomorrow morning. And "The Chosen", which began Season 3 last Sunday and will continue to drop episodes on Sunday Night at 7 pm until the season is finished. So many movies; so much to do; so little time. Tried to do this justice last night but it's late and Friday is my busy day so bear with me! I only made it through three movies last week. Those three were: 1. B&B Merry, the Sunday night offering from Great American Family. Starring Jen Lilly and Jesse Hutch about a family owned struggling B&B that invites a travel blog writer to come and visit in the hopes that she will give them a positive review. Of course, she finds more than just a well run B&B. She also finds love. Awww. Nice little movie. 2. Christmas on Candy Cane Lane, with Andrea Barber turned out to be a fun little movie. Who knew Andrea Barber could pull off a non-Kimmy kind of role but she did and she did it quite well. 3. A Fabled Holiday from Hallmark was a very enjoyable movie which sort of felt a little bit "Once Upon A Timey" to me, without the known fairy tale characters. heh. The plot a bit hard to explain but the movie was fun and worth the watch. Now let's move on to this week's fun - Beginning with Great American Christmas! Here is the link to the Great American Family website for your viewing pleasure: Which will actually give you a more accurate picture. This calendar is not the same as the schedule on the site for this weekend so I'm assuming the site is correct one?. Schedule - Great American Family Friday, December 9th The movie showing as scheduled here is actually next weekend. Nothing new here tonight. Saturday, December 10th, 8 pm "The Art of Christmas" starring Bridgette Kingsley and Joe Towne After her latest gallery exhibition literally goes up in flames, struggling artist Liv James accepts a teaching job at a local elementary school to make ends meet. I checked on the Frndly Guide and this is the movini showing and NOT the one you see listed above. Somewhere they made some changes and forgot to alert me. Sorry. Sunday, December 11th at 8 pm "The Crown Prince of Christmas" starring Cindy Busby and Jilon VanOver Madison jokingly tells her overbearing family that she is dating the prince of a small European nation. The joke goes too far as her friend/co-worker Sebastian is roped into impersonating the prince while visiting her family in New Jersey. Aww Cindy Busby. All of us obsessed "Heartland" fans know Cindy well. Well, and from a few pretty wonderful movies my favorite of which is Hallmark's "Autumn Stables" - another Kevin McGarry movie (he's EVERYWHERE just like Gabrial Hogan}. No idea why they chose to leave her "Prince" out of this picture. But looking forward to this one. But will dvr and on demand because.. wait for it! Keep reading.... Next, It's "Countdown to Christmas" on Hallmark! Friday, December 9th "The Most Colorful Time of the Year", 8 pm starring Katrina Bolden and Christopher Russell A colorblind elementary school teacher meets an optometrist who helps bring color into his life in time for the holidays. This one looks like an interesting story. Saturday, December 10th on The Hallmark Channel "The Christmas Class Reunion" starring Aimee Teegarden and Tyler Novan Reuniting at Christmastime for their 15-year high school reunion, two former classmates challenge each other to remember who they were, who they are, and who they want to be. What you DON'T see on this schedule is... Hallmark Moves and Mysteries at 8 pm "The Gift of Peace" starring Nikki DeLoach and Brennan Elliott Traci lost her faith after tragedy, but begins to find inspiration, hope, and peace with a new community when she joins a grief support group at Christmas. The movie they've been touting as their "first ever" faith-based movie - (wrong - if movies and TV Shows based on the writings of famed Christian Author Jeanette Oke are not considered FAITH BASED, then something is wrong. Hallmark has done a bunch of those. "Love Comes Softly and that entire series of movies that came after". "When Calls the Heart" to name a few. Not to mention movies based on the writings of famed Christian Writer Karen Kingsbury) - Anyway, THIS movie that they have been advertising so much as the FIRST EVER didn't even make it onto the above calendar. That being said, I will for sure try to catch this one. Sunday, December 11th "Holiday Sitter"... Johnathan Bennett I won't be watching this one... I will be..... beep, beep beep.... Interrupting this Christmas Movie info page for the following Public Service Announcement for Sunday, December 11th at 7 pm!!!!! - My enthusiasm runneth over for - The Chosen, Global Livestream at 7 pm! Available on their App which can be accessed by casting to your TV from your Phone, the app is available on both Roku and Fire TV, usually they do these Livestreams on YouTube and maybe even Facebook Watch. Will confirm this... You read that right - this night is the night when our friends from The Chosen are releasing the first episode of Season 3, which will include an interview with cast favorite Paras Patel, who plays Matthew. Also, there is that re-watch of the Christmas movie "The Messengers" from last season that I would like to do this weekend as a lead up to the main event on Sunday - maybe on Saturday night? This event might capture my entire weekend! So Christmas movies will be a bit on the back burner. I will, for sure, DVR any that I want to make sure to catch though, never fear. Okay, not a Christmas movie, per se... but the greatest story of all time told in a truly amazing way. HIGHLY recommend. Let me know if anyone cares to play along. Next, "The Most Uplifting Christmas Ever" on UpTV. A link to their website's schedule: Watch Uplifting Christmas Movies With Your Family - UPtv! Saturday, December 10th at 7 pm "A Royal Christmas Match" starring Jordanna Largy and Matthew McCaull Princess Camille travels to America to create a cross-cultural college exchange program and falls for Professor Rhett. But when she discovers he was hired by her father to escort her, aka babysit her, she wonders if he cares more about her or his career. I'm really behind on my UpTV movies. It might be after Christmas before I get to everything, I want to get to but the problem with THAT is, usually after Christmas, I'm over the desire to watch them. Better try to work a few in before Christmas is over. Sunday, December 11th, 7 pm "Santa's Got Style" starring Franko Lo Presti and Kathryn Davis When Madison is charged with coming up with a new idea for the holiday season, she decides that they would hire a young Santa with lots of fashionable styles. This one looks fun, but will have to wait until after The Chosen - Global Livestream! Did I mention how excited I am about Season 3? Not a once. :-}} And finally, "It's a Wonderful Lifetime", on Lifetime Thursday, December 8th Scentsational Christmas starring Nazneen Contractor and Mykee Selkin Sparks fly between a beautiful perfumer and a handsome writer as they work together to save her father's candle business. I thought I saw that this one was listed as "new" but maybe not.. still, new to me so might give it a watch. Friday, December 9th "A Recipe for Joy" starring Erin Agostino and Dillon Casey Sparks fly between a food correspondent and a shy chef as they work together to reopen his family's beloved diner. Saturday, December 10th "Kirk Franklin's The Night Before Christmas" starring Naturi Naughten and Luke James, Lorea Turner, and of course Kirk Franklin himself. Caught in a blizzard on Christmas Eve, a woman and her estranged daughter find refuge inside a church with a group of parishioners. The spirit of the holiday season soon takes hold as they reconcile their differences through music, faith and love. I could see me watch this one, for sure. Sunday, December 11th "Single and Ready to Jingle" starring Natasha Wilson and Edward Ruttle A woman's vacation plans go disastrously wrong when she mistakenly winds up in St. John, Alaska, during Christmastime. However, things take a turn for the better when she meets a local man who sweeps her off her feet. A romance set in Alaska! Running out of time - See you in the chat! Time once again to check out our Christmas Movie options for the upcoming weekend. But first, I must mention my top pics from last week. Great American Christmas won the weekend for me. All three of their new movies were fantastic. 1. "A Christmas.... Present". So nice to see a movie lay off the romance for a minute to focus on a real true meaning of Christmas faith message. I loved every minute of this movie. 2. "I'm Glad It's Christmas". An amazing cast. A wonderful story. Paul Greene, Jessica Lowndes, and Gladys Knight stars in this wonderful movie about a jingle writer and a wannabee Broadway star livening up a community with a Christmas event on Christmas Eve. Worth every second of the watch. To hear Gladys Knight teaching them how to sing "Joy To The World" from the heart alone!! 3. "Christmas at the Drive In". Danica Mckellar and Neal Bledsoe star in this nice little movie about an effort to save a Drive-In, considered to be a Landmark in this small town, from being torn down to make way for a Distribution Center. Sounds cheesy, but it was a really nice movie. "Don't give up before the miracle". 4. "A Royal Corgi Christmas", the only Hallmark I made it to but it was a really cute one. 5. "Steppin' Into The Holiday" with Jana Kramer and Mario Lopez on Lifetime was a pretty good one too. I enjoyed it. Something about it made me think of Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. You know, everything can be solved by a big show in a barn! heh. 6. "The Twelve Days of Christmas Eve", also on Lifetime was an epic adventure of an old Scrooge like character, played by Kelsey Grammar, who has a nearly fatal accident on Christmas Eve, and is somehow thrust into the presence of Santa who gives him twelve chances to re-do Christmas Eve to repair all the broken relationships in his life in order to make the decision about whether he will survive the crash or not. Sort of a Christmas version of Groundhog Day. heh. I liked it. Sounds a little morbid when you put it like I did, but it was actually kind of fun. Now let's move on to this week's fun - Beginning with Great American Christmas! Here is the link to the Great American Family website for your viewing pleasure: Schedule - Great American Family Saturday, December 3rd "Christmas At Candy Cane Lane" starring Andrea Barber and Dan Payne Everyone’s getting ready for Christmas in Icicle Falls, especially on Candy Cane Lane, where holiday decorating is taken very seriously. Tilda Morrison, town cop, is looking forward to celebrating Christmas in her first house…until she discovers that she’s expected to “keep up” with the neighbors, including Ivy Donaldson, the inspiration behind the whole extravaganza. But when a third neighbor’s Christmas display disappears, Tilda and Ivy will need to put aside their past differences and get on the case. It Kimmy... who forever will be known as the ditz from Full House to me. Great American is making me expect high quality from them. Will this one prove to be that? We shall have to see. Sunday, December 4th "B&B Merry" starring Jen Lilly and Jesse Hutch Graham Cooper invites renowned travel blogger Tracey Wise on a Christmas getaway in exchange for her review of his family's small bed & breakfast, Silver Peak. Unfortunately, the humble B&B is facing tough competition from an upscale hotel resort. I really like both of these actors so I'm sure I'll make sure to catch this one. Next, It's "Countdown to Christmas" on Hallmark! Friday, December 2nd A Big Fat Family Christmas starring Shannon Chan Kent and Shannon Kook and... Jack Wagner? (who we all know from WCTH). A photojournalist gets close to a co-worker as she shoots her family's annual holiday party for a cover story. Saturday, December 4th "A Fabled Christmas", starring Brooke D'Orsay and Ryan Peavey Talia and her childhood best friend unexpectedly reunite in a curiously familiar-looking town that's full of Christmas spirit. This one looks interesting. Sunday, December 4th "Undercover Holiday", starring Noemi Gonzalez and Stephen Huszar Returning home for the holidays, pop star Jaylen tells her protective family that Matt is her new beau, when in reality, he's her overzealous security guard. Why does this sound like a downplayed version of that Kevin Costner/Whitney filmed "The Bodyguard"? Next, "The Most Uplifting Christmas Ever" on UpTV - yep Gilmore the Merrier is done (didn't watch much of it at all - not enough time in the day). So, Christmas Movies are BACK! A link to their website's schedule: Watch Uplifting Christmas Movies With Your Family - UPtv! Friday, December 2nd at 7 pm. "Christmas In The Wilds", Kaitlyn Leeb and Victor Zinck, Jr. Buck and Jessica’s merry little Christmas together takes a dangerous turn when their journey through the wild turns into a battle for survival. Well, since i went through that "Heartland" binge, I know who this Actress is! Saturday, December 3rd at 7 pm Christmas On the Slopes starring Soma Chhaya and Oliver Renaud After a disappointing restaurant opening and an embarrassing break-up, a celebrity chef takes her first real Christmas vacation. When she wanders into the kitchen at a luxury resort and is mistaken for the sous chef by the handsome, but grouchy, head chef, their chemistry sparks a holiday romance. But will everything blow up when the head chef learns the truth about her? Sunday, December 4th at 7 pm. "Christmas On The Rocks", starring Khiyla Aynne and Bukola Ayoka A ski-lodge event manager’s task of hosting a corporate Christmas party goes awry when the resort is cut off by a snowstorm and the hard-to-please CEO turns out to be an old flame. The question is... who is it, exactly, that breaks their leg in this movie. Couldn't find any other promo pic for this movie that didn't just have this casted leg. And finally, "It's a Wonderful Lifetime", on Lifetime - which actually started last night; sorry, I missed that. Bet it will play again very soon. Thursday, December 1st "Serving Up The Holidays", starring Britt Irvin and Zach Roerig A top chef falls for a handsome rival while on a holiday cooking getaway to regain her Christmas spirit. Friday, December 2nd "Cloudy With a Chance of Christmas", starring Valerie Ortiz and Brandon Quinn Sparks fly between a TV weatherwoman and a talk show host as they get ready for an annual Christmas Eve festival. Saturday, December 3rd "A New Orleans Noel", starring Keshia Knight Pulliam and Brad James Sparks fly between an architect and her handsome counterpart as she spends Christmas with his family in New Orleans. Sunday, December 4th "Merry Textmas", starring Arriana Ron Pedrique and Rodrigo Massa Sparks fly between an app developer and a handsome graphic designer as he spends Christmas in Mexico with her family. We actually have made a bit of a plan to have an actual movie chat on Sunday night for the CBS movie, at 8 pm... "Fit for Christmas", starring Amanda Kloots and Paul Greene A Christmas-obsessed fitness instructor begins a holiday romance with a mysterious businessman. The new relationship soon complicates his plans to turn a beleaguered community center into a financially profitable resort. Paul Greene is the familiar face here. I'd watch it for him. Also, want to mention the Netflix world, which seems to be giving us a few Christmas movies too. The one I really want to mention is.... "The Noel Diary", which stars.... Wait... who is that? For all of us missing "This Is Us"... this movie gives us Justin Hartley, a.k.a. Kevin Pearson. This one was brought to my attention by Polly a few days ago and it is one I will be making time for. I read that this movie has been so successful, a sequel may be in the works.
Out of time so... hope to see you all in the chat! Time for a preview of the weekends "Christmas Movie" fun compliments of "Great American Family", "Hallmark", "UpTV", and "Lifetime". Honestly, it is getting to the point where these movies can be found EVERYWHERE. You don't have to try too hard or look too far to find one. Prime, Pureflix, Netflix, Hulu Live just added all the Hallmark's as did Peacock... seriously. IF it is all Christmas movies, All the time you want.... you are covered just about anywhere you look. As Usual, Let's begin our look at Great American Christmas. Saturday, November 19th Christmas in Pine Valley starring Kristina Cole and Andrew Biernat Natalie is the owner of a successful farm/homegoods store that garners the attention of a major magazine. The magazine sends a reporter named Josh to profile Natalie’s company thinking it’s a family-run business. Little does he know that Natalie’s business is run by her with the help of longtime family friends. Knowing how much the article will help struggling farm, Natalie must convince Josh that her “family” and Christmas traditions are all real. Farm/Homegoods... wonder if that includes a Christmas Tree Farm? Seems like a lot of these kinds of movies DO... heh. Saturday, November 20th My Favorite Christmas Tree starring Emma Johnson and Giles Panton Kyla is a skilled genealogy researcher who’s made a thriving business of putting together family trees. When she comes across new information regarding her mother’s mysterious extended family, she and her sister travel to the charming town of Conifer, hoping to piece together their ancestry. The search leads Kyla to a generations-old Christmas tree farm, its stubborn but handsome owner… and, possibly, love. See, I rest my case... yet another movie about a Christmas Tree Farm. Honestly, I could name at least four without trying too hard. Now, lets move on to "Countdown to Christmas" on Hallmark. I admit, I haven't seen many of these. The Up's and Great American's have had my full attention. Though, I did watch one Lifetime last weekend that I really loved. A link to the Hallmark Website Schedule for your reading pleasure: Countdown to Christmas - Movies, Sweepstakes, Photos (hallmarkchannel.com) Friday, November 18th Inventing the Christmas Prince starring Shelby is about to quit her job as a rocket engineer when her daughter becomes convinced that her Scrooge-like boss, Evan, is the Christmas Prince; a story Shelby invented years ago. Starring Tamera Mowry-Housley and Ronnie Rowe. Saturday, November 19th Three Wise Men and a Baby Three brothers get the surprise of their lives when they are forced to work together and care for a baby over the holidays. Starring Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, and Margaret Colin. Ah... Margaret Colin... Tom Selleck's love interest in that wonderful old movie "Three Men And A Baby". Fun. This makes me want to relive that old 80's flick with Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenburg and Ted Dansen instead of watching this one. Though, I think I liked its sequel - "Three Men and a Little Lady" the best. Sunday, November 20th When I Think of Christmas Sara comes home for Christmas to help her mom move, reconnects with a past love, and makes a surprising discovery for a holiday they will all remember. Starring Shenae Grimes-Beech, Niall Matter and Beth Broderick. Ah... Niall... well. Might have to watch this one. UpTV's Most Uplifting Christmas A link to their website's schedule: Watch Uplifting Christmas Movies With Your Family - UPtv! Friday, November 18th Josh Turner - King Size Manger Showcasing his unmistakable baritone voice, multiplatinum-selling recording artist and Grand Ole Opry star Josh Turner heralds in the holiday season with his unique interpretation of nostalgic classics as well as four original songs! Nope, more a concert than a sappy Christmas movie. A break from their scheduled 24/7 Christmas movie fun. Saturday, November 19th The Holiday Swap When two strangers mistakenly pick up the wrong piece of luggage at the airport, each must use the intriguing contents within to track down the other’s whereabouts in time for Christmas. THIS could be fun! So far, I think the UpTV's have been my favorite. Sunday, November 20th Christmas Lucky Charm Every boyfriend Jessica has had found the love of his life right after he dated her. Just as Jessica leans into her unlucky love life and swears off dating for the Christmas season, a handsome gallery owner moves in across the street. All Thanksgiving Week on UpTV - Gilmore The Merrier Hosted by..... UpTV Takes their Gilmore Girls fandom seriously!.... a weeklong party of nothing but Lorelei and Rory, Luke, Jess, Dean, Emily and Richard Gilmore!.... Taylor and Kurt (or is it Kirk - I'm never sure)... But loads of fun to be had here! "It's a Wonderful Lifetime Christmas", is what they officially call it! Now that I've seen a couple of them, I'm becoming a bit of a fan. Lifetime TV Schedule | Lifetime (mylifetime.com) Friday, November 18th A Country Christmas Harmony Estranged country music duo and former sweethearts run into each other years later and are forced to shelter together during a storm but soon realize they can only survive the holidays with each other's help. Saturday, November 19th Santa Bootcamp Hired to stage the ultimate holiday gala, an event planner rediscovers the magic of Christmas while searching for the perfect Santa. This sounds fun! Sunday, November 20th A Showstopping Christmas A passionate theater director has to find a way to keep her theater from being sold by making this year's play a huge success with the help of a handsome Hollywood actor.
This sounds like a fun one, too! Hope to see you in the chat!! Believe we will just keep this on the old "RTV" site. Yeah, I know: sappy Christmas movies are in no way reality TV. But there are those on this site that love them. We will start with "Great American Christmas" Here is the link to the Great American Family website for your viewing pleasure: Schedule - Great American Family Saturday, November 12th "A Merry Christmas Wish" starring Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison An NYC advertising executive returns to her hometown to sell the family farm but instead reconnects with her childhood friend and gets involved with organizing the yearly Winter Wonderland, which takes place on the property. Sunday, November 13th, 8 pm on Great American Family: "Christmas Sweethearts" starring Breanne Hill and Colton Little When a woman returns home to find her ex in a relationship, she enlists her best friend to act as her fake boyfriend. I prefer the original title, "My Best Friend's Wedding". Countdown to Christmas on Hallmark A link to the Hallmark Website Schedule for your reading pleasure: Countdown to Christmas - Movies, Sweepstakes, Photos (hallmarkchannel.com) Friday, November 11th, 8 pm on Hallmark "In Merry Measure" starring Patty Murin and Brendan Penny When pop star Darcy returns home to spend Christmas with her sister and niece, she unexpectedly finds herself coaching the high school choir with her onetime rival Adam, who never made anything of his life and certainly did not become as successful as she did! Saturday, November 12th, 8 pm on Hallmark "The Royal Ninny" starring Rachel Starsken and Dan Jeanotte Working under cover as a nanny, an MI5 agent must resist the charms of Prince Colin while keeping the royal family and their corgis safe during Christmastime. Sunday, November 13th, 8 pm on Hallmark "Christmas at the Golden Dragon" starring Kara Wang and Osric Chau When Romy and Rick's parents surprise them with news that they'll be closing their decades-old Chinese restaurant, the siblings soon find themselves reevaluating their futures, which become even more troubling when they run out of Calgon! UpTV's Most Uplifting Christmas A link to their website's schedule: Watch Uplifting Christmas Movies With Your Family - UPtv! Friday, November 11th, 7 pm on UpTV "The Christmas Retreat" starring (apparently UpTV doesn't hire actors for their Christmas movies!) When Kim’s boyfriend breaks up with her instead of proposing, her mom whisks her away to a Christmas retreat where she meets the owner’s unemployed brother, Mark. But will they be able to see past the mistakes neither one wants to admit to and let the magic of the season connect them? Saturday, November 12th, 7pm on UpTV "A Timy Home Christmas" starring ("Timy"? Obviously a typo here - but is it a "tiny" home, or a home belonging to a guy named "Timmy"?) In order to save her family’s contracting business, Blair reluctantly teams up with her ex-boyfriend and former co-star of a hit home design reality show to build a tiny home for the unsheltered in the community, rekindling old sparks in the process… and just in time for Christmas. Look! A reality TV theme for our reality TV site! Sunday, November 13th, 7 pm on UpTV "The Picture of Christmas" starring (Nope. Still no thespians!) An aspiring storybook illustrator in Manhattan returns home after inheriting her grandmother’s Christmas tree farm. Inspired by the magic of Christmas and the farm’s handsome caretaker, she is reminded of the things she once wanted in life. Lifetime Christmas I'm not as familiar with Lifetime, though I have seen one or two of their Christmas movies and enjoyed them. So we'll include their Christmas season product here. Found a link to the Lifetime schedule: Lifetime TV Schedule | Lifetime (mylifetime.com) Oops... They had a new one on Thursday... Thursday, November 10th, 8 pm on Lifetime "Mistle on Christmastoe Lake" starring Genelle Williams and Corey Siever This Christmas, interior designer Reilly finds herself in the town of Mistletoe Lake with no place to stay. She accepts an offer from Ray to stay on his boat and helps him renovate it for the town's Christmas Harbor Festival. Aww. Genelle Williams. "Warehouse 13"!! No Christmas movie that! Friday, November 11th "The Dog Days of Christmas" starring Georgia Flood and Ezekial Simat Annie Blake, an aid worker, heads home to North Haven, Vt., to spend the holidays with her family. When the local animal shelter closes, Annie steps in to save it with the help of the local vet and old school nemesis, Dylan. Awww. Doggies! A sappy movie just made for WindbagMark! Just checked and it's not on any Canadian channels! I would have live chatted it! #NotGonnaHappen November 12th, 8 pm on Lifetime "Reindeer Games Homecoming" starring Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening Sparks fly between a Vermont biology teacher and her high school crush as they compete in a holiday fundraising tradition. Sunday, November 13th at 8 pm on Lifetime "Six Degrees of Santa" starring Kathryn Davis and Steve Lund Believing she may be his soul mate, a leading internet entrepreneur searches for the mystery woman whose Christmas gift wound up in his hands.
If a movie has the words "Six Degrees" in the title, it MUST have Kevin Bacon, at least in a small cameo! Now, I admit - last weekend it was all "Great American" and "Up" for me. Let me just put in a big plug for the UpTV movies. The two I watched last weekend were very good. Looking forward to seeing what's in store for us this time! Hope to see you in the chat!! |
