Hello RTV People If you are all caught up on anything you care about from last night's TV, you are safe to enter. Truth be told, this page has become a pretty fun one, full of randomness. No one here will post anything that hasn't already aired on TV. You only need to worry if you missed something from last night that you don't want spoiled! So if you are NOT caught up on LAST NIGHT'S TV..... yada, yada, yada. Have a great day!

Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV folks... Not a lot to report for this upcoming week. Going to keep this a little short. An early morning tomorrow. Right now distracted by a movie with daughter - a musical version of Freaky Friday... (FREAKY!) and also blind blogging with WM over the wonderful "Sound of Music". Speaking of which, it has become a tradition on our site to have an annual "Sound of Music" watch and chat during the Christmas season. Why, you might ask? This film is, in no way, a Christmas movie. There is not a single scene in it which deals with the Christmas season. Not a one. The closest it comes is the song "My Favorite Things", which mentions "bright paper packages tied up with strings" and "silver white winters that melt into spring". These are the only references anywhere. Clutching at straws, right? So why do the networks insist on only showing this movie a week before Christmas? It wasn't made and destined to be a Christmas movie. Oh well. It's one of those unsolvable mysteries I mentioned last week. Still, it IS a wonderful movie. So next week on Sunday, December 20th we will watch and chat through the ABC network airing of "The Sound of Music" at 7 pm. It's a tradition, after all. We can even do it as a sing-a-long, so you can chant to your heart's content without any of us actually hearing you sing! (small favors, or in my case, very generous favours!) If you have the same love for this movie as WM, Ali and myself, we would love to have you join us. Sunday, December 13th Still nothing I care about on Sunday. More Hallmark Christmas, I guess. Monday, December 14th "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, The Men Tell All" Season 16 Episode 10, 8 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Tayshia agonizes over which of the men's families to meet for hometown dates; some of the men look back at the season's romance, drama and heartbreak. Apparently moved to Monday. WM? No, two episodes this week. The "hometowns" are on Monday and "The Men Tell All" on Tuesday. Tonight we'll meet the families of the guys (sad back stories alert!) then tomorrow it's shout and fight and rehash old grudges (with one spoiler over who isn't moving on revealed in the promo!) "The Voice: Live Top 9 Finale, Part 1" Season 19 Week 8, 8 pm on NBC This is the first season in a long time that I didn't keep up. Maybe 2021 will be better.... Tuesday, December 15th "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, The Men Tell All" Season 16 Episode 11, 8 pm on ABC Ah. TWO episodes this week! "The Voice Finale Part 2 " 8 pm on NBC We'll use the same page as Monday - if a chat happens, that is. "Big Sky: A Good Day To Die" Season 1 Episode 5, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis: Jenny and Cassie race against the clock to close in on Legarski as he and Ronald prepare to move the girls; Jerrie makes one last attempt to convince Ronald to let them go; Cassie visits Merilee to question her about her husband. WM? It's the fall finale! Does that mean....leaving with a cliff-hanger, or maybe completely wrapping up this season and introducing a new case for Jenny and Cassie to solve in the spring? We never know what kinds of twists these producers might throw at us - and I can't wait to find out! Wednesday, December 16th "The Amazing Race: Now It's About Winning" Finale, Season 32 Episode 12, 8 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: "With the $1 million prize on the line, the final three teams travel to New Orleans; one team is crowned the winner." One more episode. Do we care who wins, or do we only care that one team DOESN'T win? "The Masked Singer: Road To the Finals" Season 4, Episode 12, 8 to 10 pm on FOX followed by Episode 13 Finale "Last Mask Standing" Episode synopsis: The three finalists perform one last time before all are unmasked and one singer takes home the trophy. Two episodes tonight, but the first one seems like a recap show. Would you all care to do the finale at 9 pm after TAR? I think I would. I don't need the recap. Hmmm.... "Last Mask Standing". Wonder if Tim Allen will be the guest panelist? heh. His final season of "Last Man Standing" is soon to premiere on Fox. Final season... awwwww. I'll miss that show. Thursday, December 17th Star Trek Discovery: Despite Yourself", Season 1 Episode 10, 10 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: "While in unfamiliar territory, the crew must get creative to survive against opposing forces and return home." Okay... this doesn't look like Michael OR Tilly. What gives? Who is this chick? And she looks nothing like an older Demi Moore! Friday, December 18th I've given up on trying to initiate any kind of chat right now. Everyone is too busy right now, I guess. Holiday Season and all. But I DO have some news. Here is a full list of upcoming winter premieres, if you are interested. I will repost the link in the comments because for some reason the link never works up here in the heading. No idea why. Won't have time in the morning to figure it out. https://www.tvinsider.com/973524/midseason-tv-schedule-2021-premiere-dates/ A few of interest to ME: "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" second season premieres on Tuesday, January 5th at 8 pm. It's the prime spot, right before "This Is Us" on NBC. In the "going to the well once too often" department comes "The Masked Dancer", yet another in the "Mask" franchise. This one is hosted by Craig Robinson, and will premiere on December 27th at 8 pm (Finally! Something of interest on Sunday). But this is only for the premier. It's real time slot is Wednesday at 8 pm. "The Resident" and "Prodigal Son" on Fox both making their return on January 12th. I'm sure there are some others but for now, I'll leave it at that. And... found an article of interest to "Survivor" fans. It's dated November 30th and I have found no more recent update since, but... here it is. https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2020/11/survivor-41-42-updates-dominican-republic-2021/ There COULD be three seasons of "Survivor" filmed in 2021. Here is an excerpt from the article written by Andy Dehnart of "Reality Blurred". "The new news is that CBS has been pushing to film three seasons in 2021 and airing one of them in the summer” Holmes reported, noting that Survivor 41 could air next summer, with season 42 in the fall and season 43 in spring 2022 (when they would have aired normally). But he notes that “there is some push back on the production side regarding filming three seasons consecutively.” Read the full article linked above for more detail. We'll see. Seems to me like filming three seasons so close together could be a very tall order. It does sound like they are back to casting the seasons though. Feeling a bit hopeful. These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments.

Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hey! What happened to my heading? See, I did this page last night and had a heading here before I saved the draft. And now... poof!... the heading is gone. There really wasn't much to it; just a "Oops, almost forgot to do this page. Day off. Kids all home. Christmas decorating. Dinner out. Family fun." Then sitting through all the missed Masked Singer episodes daughter missed so she could catch up! Always fun even the second time around. Then somewhere around 10 pm, I remembered I needed to get this done tonight - or be scrambling in the morning. So I pulled up a Hallmark movie to watch in the background (as has become my tradition) and went to work (It was the newest Godwink one, in case anyone wants to know). Anyway, wonder why it didn't save? It seems the rest of the page did - just not the heading. Oh well, life is too short to worry about solving unsolvable mysteries. Moving on..... Sunday, December 6th Still not seeing anything I care to follow on Sunday; will probably do a Hallmark. But for TCM fans out there, it seems to be Marilyn Monroe night. heh. (Marilyn Monroe night! Right on!) Monday, December 7th "The Voice: Live Top 9 Performances" Season 19 Week 7, 8 pm on NBC Dropped from 17 to 9 in ONE WEEK? Wow. Need to spend some time catching up. However, on this particular Monday, there is a conflict. I was going to try to catch up on The Voice before the new episode airs so I'll be ready to go on time. But then I noticed this.... "I Can See Your Voice", Season 1 Episode 9, 8 pm on Fox Regulars Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Houghton and guest panelists Nicole Byer and Jeff Dye; one contestant performs with Robin Thicke. ROBIN'S turn to be the end of show singer! Anyway, this is what it is: Monday plays episode nine, the second to last ep. Then the Finale will air on Wednesday right after TMS (as usual). Will have to check with my Canadians as to whether or not their "Private Eyes" viewing conflicts with this. Watch on time or delay chat? Hmm... that is the question! Tuesday, December 8th "The Voice Continues" 8 pm on NBC We'll use the same page as Monday - if a chat happens, that is. "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, " Season 16 Episode 9, 8 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Bennett and Noah continue to confront one another on the impromptu two-on-one date; JoJo Fletcher explains to the men that a rose this week will be their ticket to a hometown date with Tayshia; Adam Hambrick performs. WM? (No, the synopsis sums it up completely: When the episode ended last week, Tayshia was quickly loosing patience with her two misbehaving boys - some of us will be happy if BOTH get sent home and we get to watch the most awkward reject-limo conversation ever; Chris Harrison must still be taking his son to college, so JoJo will be hosting again this week; and as always, one couple will be serenaded during their date by an artist who must be googled to be recognized. "Big Sky: Unfinished Business" Season 1 Episode 4, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Unsatisfied with the investigation now that the girls' disappearance has made headlines, Cassie and Jenny take things into their own hands; Danielle and Jerrie tend to Grace, who makes a painful decision in an attempt to save them all." Missed the last episode... anything to say WM? (Offhand, can't think of anything that you would have taken particular offense to, notwithstanding the original themes, but still plenty of excitement and twists to keep everyone on their toes. "I swear you picked the two worst girls to kidnap". Wednesday, December 8th "The Amazing Race: Run On Your Tippy Toes" Season 32 Episode 11, 8 pm on CBS Episode Synopsis: In the first city sprint, the final four teams race through Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Saw there was quite a discussion the other day on the Daily Page about the "alliance-gate" issue on TAR this season. Sorry I missed out on participating in the conversation. My only deep feeling is that the reason I have always loved The Amazing Race is the simple fact that it is, in it's purest form, a foot race. Not a "hang out in a house with nothing to do all day but find ways to out think all the other players and where building some goofy named alliances and sub-alliances and sub-sub-alliances is just a normal part of the game." Not a "hang out on a beach in Figi for 39 days with nothing to do but find ways to outwit, outlast, and outplay all the other players and where building good alliances then finding ways to backstab them without them getting mad at you is not just smart but sometimes very necessary to make it to the end." But a foot race - where your goal is simply to get from point to point the fastest way possible in order to be the last one standing on the very last episode. Reading and following the clues. Making good choices of who should do what task, etc. Great teamwork and all. Sort of like a huge scavenger hunt, like the ones I used to do at a church group with teens, back in the day. The team leader would be given a list of things to grab at a place they would visit, something to prove they'd been there (e.g. a paper menu of a particular restaurant, or the McDonald's container for the large order of fries everyone on your team shared), etc. The goal was for the adult driving their team of kids to assemble everything on the list then meet back at the church. Team who got there first with the correct items wins something. No big money prize, something fun like, maybe a new Bible or a music CD or a "Veggie Tale" DVD or something. This was long before The Amazing Race was even a thing but watching this show sometimes triggers memories of stuff like this. Now how would it have been if two or three teams had banded together to ensure the the one team of kids no one liked couldn't finish their tasks, ensuring they had no chance at the prize? It would have felt like cheating... in fact it WOULD have been cheating in this scenario As a leader I would have had to say something stern to put a stop to the behavior. Building alliances the way these teams did, for me, truly disrupted the flow of the purity of the foot race The Amazing Race is and I didn't appreciate it at all. Focus on your own team's race... get from point to point to point the fastest way you can without leaning on other teams for help or without ganging up on other teams not in your alliance.... use the game boosts such as a Yield or a U-Turn strategically if you need to to save your race if you are falling behind or have a strong team right at your heels and you want to slow them down, but don't use them just to punish a team you don't like especially if that team is already IN last place with no chance to catch anyone. Such a waste of a Yield, in my opinion. This show is about great team work and good decision making. Not about cut throat alliance deals and targeting other teams to make sure they fail. Not about making your race decision based on what other teams are doing. It's a foot race. I don't know.... it just feels wrong the way this alliance of five took over and I truly hope that if there ARE more seasons of this show, this doesn't become a thing. It's a race, folks. Get your tasks done and get to the pit stop the fastest way you can without wasting a lot of energy focused on building alliances or worrying about helping the other teams in your alliance. Was it effective for the five teams? Yeah, sure. It was. But, the alliance thing just distracted away from the idea of it being a "foot race". Sure messed with MY enjoyment of watching the show, anyway. These are MY feelings on the subject. Now... who we need to hear from on this is No. 2 Tyrants and his sidekick Anonymous. Have seen no sign of them this season and I'm sad about that. Would love to hear his (and her) take on the subject. "The Masked Singer: The Holiday Sing-A-Long" Season 4, Episode 11, 8 to 10 pm on FOX The final three singers perform never-before-heard holiday songs, with all-new animated clues; the already unmasked celebrities join together to perform their favorite holiday jingles. Seems like a Holiday show. Followed by: "I Can See Your Voice", Season 1 Episode 10 FINALE, 9 pm on Fox Regulars Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Houghton and guest panelists Joel McHale and Niecy Nash; one contestant performs with Katharine McPhee. The second episode this week AND the finale episode. Regardless of what we do with the Monday episode, I suppose Wednesday's TMS and ICSYV will be delay-chatted Thursday at 8 pm. Thursday, December 10th Delayed Watch of "The Masked Singer" and "I Can See Your Voice"... beginning as close to 8 pm as possible. Star Trek Discovery: Into The Forest I Go", Season 1 Episode 9, 10 pm on CBS Episode Synopsis reads like this: "Bypassing Starfleet's orders, Lorca uses the U.S.S. Discovery crew's ultimate asset, the ship itself, in an effort to end the war with the Klingons once and for all." Hopefully, Disqus will hold off any "maintenance moments" so that our chat can happen on schedule. Those who participate in this show know what I'm talking about. Friday, December 11th I give up on Survivor 29. How about we wait till after the Holidays when things might be less busy? These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Merry Christmas and Happy Sunday! I love that the one in the middle is sounds asleep and not participating in the head shaking. And the second one is winking at me. Cute.
