Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! It only took me until midnight to remember, but... today was the day of the big "Carol Burnett Show" marathon on Shout Factory TV! Jumped right into a skit that featured Carol with Lucille Ball. Two comedy legends. I wish I would have remembered about this earlier but now I suppose I will be Rat Paging Carol. Find a way to twist that phrase around, WM. Cat Paging Rarol? Paging Carol Rat? Page Rats Carolling? Sorry, don.r think it can be done! Looks like we were cool before our time. Watching TV as a channel. Chatting with each other as we watch. Seems now lot of people are getting this idea. And why not? It is a pretty fantastic way to interact with people. I know I've never met any of you personally but I do consider all of you friends. Nice we have a way to socialize. (While I wait for Mrs. O'Wiggins to answer the phone) let's check out our upcoming TV week fun. Oh wait! She finally answered, and the next clip is.... Tim Conway as James Blonde.... heh... with Harvey Korman as Doctor Nose. For the first time ever, these are FULL episodes (not the "best of" which lack all the musical numbers) but complete ones available to stream on Shout Factory TV beginning Monday, June 1st. Carol Burnett... guaranteed for a good laugh. And speaking of chatting while watching... Shout Factory TV apparently has this down pat. You can watch their shows LIVE and chat on TWITCH (Twitch?) with other channel fans while you watch. So maybe we weren't the FIRST ones to think of this. But I'll bet we ARE the best! Okay, really moving on now.... Sunday, May 31st Lots of game shows on ABC... CBS: The Sunday Night Movie: "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade", 8 pm I believe this is the third installment. I've always liked this one, actually. Apparently it wasn't the LAST crusade, since there has since been a fourth edition and a fifth in the works. Still, this is a pretty good one. Sean Connery as Indiana Jones senior! If you don't want to watch the movie, you COULD (if you missed them) catch up on: ___________ Wait! The channel is doing random Carol Burnett trivia questions. Here is the current one: "Carol started doing her famous "Tarzan" yell when she accidentally stabbed her foot on something backstage and let out a loud yell." True or False. (False) ***The Shout Factory TV Channel is accessible for free online, if anyone is interested (its also on the Pluto TV App or as an app on a Roku or Fire TV). A few other places too. Not sure if you Canadians can access it but... wouldn't it be fun. We could all make Twitch accounts on the Shout Factory TV website and invade their chat room (Hee hee... just kidding). _____________ Moving on (and finishing the first thought - you can catch these Sunday night to be ready for this Monday) "Titan Games" premiere from last Monday, at 8 pm on NBC and "America's Got Talent" premiere from last Tuesday... at 9 pm on NBC Monday, June 1st "The Titan Games" Season 2 Episode 2, 8 to 10 pm on NBC The good news for The Titan Games is that it doesn't have a lot of competition on network TV. The premiere was a good and the chat pretty successful. As mentioned, you do have a chance on Sunday to catch the repeat of the premiere if you'd like to be up-to-date for episode two! There will be a Live Chat Tuesday, June 2nd But first, "Tim Conway didn't always want to be in show business. What profession did he want to do instead?" Surprising answer to this one. "America's Got Talent" Season 15 Episode 2, 8 to 10 pm on NBC After what I considered to be a very strong premiere... it's time for episode 2. ______________ HA... A spoof of disaster movies entitled... "Disaster '75" Wonder what movie we're spoofing here? Titantic Air. Flight 1313... probably flying out on Friday the 13th. Delayed because of a family of black cats crossing the runway. ________________ Anyway, as mentioned above the premiere of AGT is being repeated on Sunday at 9 pm. So if you missed it, you have another chance. Then hopefully tonight I WON'T be talking to myself. Who knows... maybe there will be a good dog act! Wednesday, June 3rd The ABC Wednesday Night Movie: "Up" 8 pm on ABC Who doesn't love "UP". This is a fun one. One of my favorites. Grumpy Old Man voiced by Ed Asner (who we think was on "To Tell the Truth" last week!) What's not to love? Followed by.... "MARVEL Agents of Shield: Know Your Onions" Season 7 Episode 2, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Agents wonder if preserving the future as they know it is worth the destruction they could prevent." That's right... last week's episode ended with (paraphrasing) "To save Shield, we must save Hydra". SAVE HYDRA?! The final season of this show is underway and once again.. the season begins with Fitz missing. Will Fitz and Simmons EVER be together (better question, since this happens so, so often: is Fitz always trying to get away from her/ #HeeHeeHee) Or will they keep being separated by their circumstances for all eternity? Come on, they HAVE to find a way because... DEKE! There will be a live chat. "Know your onions"? Curious title. _________________ "Some characters played were based on real people. Which real life star did Carol portray on the show." Anyone know? I do. _________________ Thursday, June 4th "Council of Dads: Heart Medicine" Season 1 Episode 6 _________________ But first, just so you know... I'm seeing the Carol Burnett version of "Gone With The Wind" ("I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist!") So great. So memorable. So.... laugh out loud funny! _________________ Moving on, episode synopsis reads like this: "The Perry family and the Council all come together when Charlotte needs emergency surgery; Luly has a powerful meeting with her original adoptive parents that will change her life." Any thoughts, WM? What the hell happened to Charlotte? On a "montage of holidays" episode, finally a happy "late Dad's birthday" one - and at the end, Charlotte collapses on the ground in the middle of a paintball game! Mom, a doctor, is unable to get a pulse and desperately does CPR as they wait for the ambulance to arrive! WTH??? "Holey Moley: That Man Knows How To Ride A Weiner" Season 2 Episode 3 Are we sure that is title for THIS week's episode? I could swear this line was said last week ("I gotta say, he looks like he's ridden the wiener before" About to become a running gag?) Oh well, I guess we will find out. Fun little show. Anyone care to check it out? Followed by: "To Tell The Truth" 10 pm on ABC This weeks celebrity panelists are Jason Alexander, Dermot Mulroney, Amanda Seales and Abbi Jacobson. Jason Alexander could be fun! And Dermot! Our Prodigal Son villain! Anyone care to play along? Friday, June 5th "Survivor 15: China" Rewatch Episodes 3 and 4. Last Friday we began another walk down "Survivor" memory lane with a rewatch of Survivor China, Season 15. A few of us have seen the season; a few of us have not; a few think they have but have forgotten most of it. Whichever camp you are in, if you'd care to watch the first two episodes then join us for the rewatch (starting with episode 3 at 8 pm ish) you'd be more than welcome. __________________ Which Sketch from the Carol Burnett show was featured in all 11 seasons?" Fairly certain it was NOT the twenty-minute "Gone With The Wind" sketch. Heh. Oh yeah... now that I see the answer, it makes sense. __________________ Speaking of "Walks down TV memory lane", I'm really enjoying this Carol Burnett marathon. This show really does remind me of my Mom, who is no longer with us. But you know how our board always invoke the "Survivor Law" when a new episode of Survivor is airing? My mom had a "Carol Burnett Show" law: no big conversations, fights or problems with anything that needed her input were allowed to happen during The Carol Burnett show. It was a weekly tradition in our house. Recall this show began in 1967 when I was five years old. The tradition went on for most of my upbringing. It was "Bring on the popcorn and park yourself in front of the TV for the weekly fun!" We never missed it! So if I seem a little TOO excited at the idea of being able to re-live this show, just chalk it up to it a very nice memory I have with my MOM and her love for all things Carol Burnett. Other fun the Shout Factory TV site has to offer is "Mystery Science Theater 3000". Now, it has been a long time since I've seen an episode of this and I admit, it was NOT a show I never missed. It was big during my single years and I have some fond memories of doing Mystery Science Theater 3000 watches with a group of friends. Anyone else remember this show? It also has tons of classic TV and movies. Episodes of the old "Johnny Carson" show, for example (the original and the best nighttime talk show host) Anyway, moving on.... Not really seeing a lot of new TV premieres for anytime soon but there is one... "Tough As Nails", premiering July 8th at 9 pm, hosted by none other than channel favourite Phil Keogan! I'd watch this just for PHIL. CBS has already released a full list of cast photos on the CBS Press Express page. When it gets closer, I'll do up a page with a full cast and show information. I'm sure most of us The Amazing Race fans will be on board with at least checking this show out if for no other reason than to support Phil, who we all love and miss. Awww.. Phil. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fun and relaxing Sunday!

Hello RTV People, If you are all caught up on anything you care about from last night's TV, you are safe to enter. Truth be told, this page has become a pretty fun one, full of randomness. No one here will post anything that hasn't already aired on TV. You only need to worry if you missed something from last night that you don't want spoiled! So if you are NOT caught up on LAST NIGHT'S TV..... yada, yada, yada. Have a great day!

Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Good morning! We are still in an "in-between" place: only a few new summer shows (mostly of the RTV variety) are kicking in this week. Not a lot of new scripted shows - except the one we've all been waiting for, that is. Stay tuned for the Wednesday section. North Carolina is having some gorgeous weather after several days of rain... and more rain... and more rain. Finally some sunshine! If I didn't have to work all afternoon, I would spend some time outside enjoying it. Oh well... Hope you all are well. Moving on to the upcoming week: Sunday, May 24th Wide open! I see nothing I want to initiate a chat for. A good movie night, perhaps? I saw the "Sunday Night Movie" CBS is showing.... Good movie. Though I recall when it came out hubby's reaction was "Why would anyone care to see that? We ALL know how it ends!" So he never did find out that as a sneak twist, this time James Cameron had ship MISS the iceberg and land safely in New York! Not sure I care to watch it tonight though. Might go for something lighter... we shall see. Monday, May 25th First, here in the US, Happy Memorial Day! And a deep and very heartfelt thank you to all who have served! God bless you. The Titan Games, Season 2 Premiere, 8 to 10 pm on NBC Show synopsis reads like this: "Following Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's belief that people have the potential to be the best they can be, exceptional everyday people test their strength and spirit as they compete head-to-head in hopes of reaching their goal of becoming a Titan." I know we had a few who followed this show last summer. I think I watched a few episodes but didn't really follow it to the end -not with my full attention anyway. I will do a live chat page for this and we will see who shows up to play. Tuesday, May 26th "America's Got Talent" Season 15 Episode 1 Premiere, 8 to 10 pm on NBC AGT is back; despite a couple of pretty bad seasons I'm not ready to give up on it completely. Show synopsis simply states: "Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews return with new judge Sofia Vergara." Just as a sidenote: I don't know... though I'm an episode or two behind on BGT, I don't feel like AGT is really THAT much different. I'm willing to give AGT a shot, realizing I might be the only one. At least we have Heidi back. I'll do a page for this first episode; then decide after that if I'll continue. "World of Dance" Season 4 Episode 1 Premiere; The Qualifiers, 10 pm on NBC I am not sure if I'm going to watch this show or not; wanted to mention in case anyone else is interested. I liked the first season but haven't been able to get excited about it since. Is my love for these kind of shows waning a little? Is my annoyance of all things JLo and her constant "goosies" the deterrent for me? I mean, it IS her show. Her production. Her concept. But her seasons judging "American Idol" really left a bad taste in my mouth that I just can't really shake. (May I suggest switching brands of mouthwash?) The problem is, there is very little in the way of good network TV shows, this week in particular. But there are a lot of great streaming options other places. This might end up being the summer of very little actual network TV. We'll see. Wednesday, May 27th THIS might be of interest: an ABC showing of... "THOR: The Dark World" 8 pm to 10 pm on ABC I mean.... it's THOR! And his Hammer! Followed by... "MARVEL Agents of Shield, Season 7 Premiere: The New Deal", 10 pm on ABC An episode that involves time travel is always of interest to me. There's always a chance they will run into Doctor Who! Can't wait to see what the finale season of this show brings. There will, for sure, be a live chat. **OOOOH..... just had a thought. If anyone would be interested in finding a moment to relive the last couple of episodes of last season before this premiere, I might be in for that. If no one has access, I might just find time to do that myself. Maybe tonight (Sunday).. anyone? If you are not interested in "Thor", we COULD do a channel watch at 8 pm of the premiere episode of Ultimate Tag (since I didn't watch the premiere and have been told it was pretty good) followed by a channel chat of the second episode. "Ultimate Tag: Real Men DO Cry", Season 2 Episode 1, 9 pm on Fox This Wednesday night MIGHT be the most active TV chat night we have for the week. Anyone interested? Thursday, May 28th "Council of Dads: Tradition" Season 1 Episode 5 Episode synopsis reads like this: "Robin tackles the fall holidays bravely but feels she can't compare to how well Scott handled them; Oliver struggles with Peter's transgression; Theo makes new friends, but they aren't the best influence; Luly gets news about her adoptive family." Not really following this one but some are. WM? "Holey Moley: That's One For The Scrapbook" Season 2 Episode 2 The fun of this show can often be found in the slapstick, goofy, elementary school humor of the hosts, Rob Riggle in particular (while I prefer sly straight man Joe better; he says so much with just his facial expressions) **Fun Fact: Watched the animated movie "Ugly Dolls" last night (voiced by Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and pre-"Voice" coach Nick Jonas) which had a robot that wa voiced by none other than Rob Riggle! Perhaps explains where the "robot" concept from the last "Holey Moley" came from. And the ingenuity is that it doesn't REMOTELY resemble any kind of mini-golf I've ever played! This season is looking MUCH more "Fear Factor" than golf! But I find it a very fun diversion. There will be a live chat. I suppose there are times when I possess an "elementary school" level of humor myself... Case in point: how amused I was by the USTA announcement about "You can kick your opponents balls but you can't touch them". Glad they clarified that for the eight to eighteen year old boys (and girls) they were showing that video to in the USTA Junior Tennis circles. Last week, following "Holey Moley", I let the episode of... "To Tell The Truth" 10 pm on ABC ...play through and really enjoyed it... a lot. Of course, Joel McHale makes everything more fun, and he was last week's guest. Might spend some more time with this show. You know how I truly love guessing games. My goodness... one of the people they had as a diversion trying to convince the panel he was a bee keeper was none other than Will Shortz the Puzzle King! Know of him; have never seen a picture of him. He did a great job fooling people. Friday, May 29th "Survivor 15: China" (Picked by WM) will be the next rewatch. Interested in another walk down Survivor memory lane? The rewatch will begin as close to 8 pm as we can. Sources to watch episodes through would be CBS All Access, Hulu, and Prime all three. If you have none of those, I'm sure we can find good links on YouTube or Dailymotion. Going to leave it here for now, as I have to work shortly. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fun and relaxing Sunday! Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hope everyone is doing well on this fine Sunday. We are in an "in-between" time as far as TV goes: not a lot new to chat about. Still, there's much in the way of content to consume. I know there are plenty of things I haven't seen before that I might enjoy checking out. Saturday night, the family decided to try "The Art of Racing In The Rain". First time watch for me; probably won't be the last. Quite a moving story. You have he great Milo V (who we all know and love as Jack Pearson on This Is Us) playing a race car driver who has quite a special relationship with his dog (what breed?) The story is told from the perspective of the dog (voiced by Kevin Costner). It's sad, true (oh, the dog doesn't die at the end, does it? Why would they do that?) But it has its heartwarming (as all good dog movies must), funny and sentimental moments too. Anyway, moving on to this week's TV fun... which is pretty sparse, for sure. Here goes: Sunday, May 17th "American Idol: On With the Show, Grand Finale", 8 to 10 pm on ABC Here is what we have to expect from the finale (which arrived a LOT faster than I would have thought): "The top five perform a song that celebrates their induction into this group, plus a previously performed song. America's real-time vote determines the winner; special performances from music legends, including a performance of "We Are the World". Only one more episode... hard to believe. I'm sure I will watch on time and I'll go ahead and put up a page. Just in case. Sunday Night Movie: Mission Impossible at 8 pm on CBS If you have no interest in American Idol, you could always watch the Sunday Night Movie on CBS! Not sure this is a movie I'd care to watch again. But someone might. Monday, May 18th "The Voice: Finale Part 1" Season 18 Episode 15, 8 to 10 pm on NBC This one is finishing up in a hurry too. So hard to believe we are already at the end. Not sure if I should bother with a page since we do have the Bachelor conflict. "The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart" Finale, Season 1 Episode 6, 8 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Nashville is the backdrop for the final three couples as they compete for musical fame, fortune and love; celebrity judges Kaitlyn Bristowe, Jason Tartick, Taye Diggs, Rita Wilson and Jewel select the winning couple." Which is also having it's finale. That was quick (Well, this isn't a surprise. We knew when it started it was only for six weeks. I've watched three episodes, and it bored me so completely I genuinely do not care who wins. Not one bit). WM? Tuesday, May 19th "The Voice" is a three hour finale from 8 to 10 pm. Since we haven't really been channel chatting it much, we will use the same page from Monday. There is also this... "The Masked Singer: The Road To The Finale!" 8 pm on Fox ...which I think will be mostly filler before Wednesday's finale. Wednesday, May 20th "The Masked Singer: Couldn't Mask For Anything More" Live Chat, 8 pm on Fox The moment we've all been waiting for. Who is the Turtle? The Dark Angel? The Frog? This is the night we will have all revealed and we will have a winner. And BEST of all, no need for a delayed chat since Survivor has finished. But unlike last week, we don't think tonight's winner will remove his mask and be revealed as..... Tony Vlachos, winning his second consecutive Wednesday night reality show! Ultimate Tag: You Better Run, 9 pm on Fox Not sure if I care to watch; I might. Sometimes these random RTVs can be kind of fun. Anyone plan to check it out? "Disney Fun" on ABC: Moana, at 8 pm If none of these RTVs are of interest - and you are a Disney Fan with no access to Disney Plus (where you can watch this movie any time you want) - here is a fun option! Thursday, May 21st "Holey Moley: Literally Jumping The Shark" Season 2 Episode 1 Looking at the schedule for Thursday, it's FULL of goofy RTV. A "Celebrity Maze" with Jack Black. A Celebrity Watch where we can see a bunch of celebs doing exactly what WE do: watch TV and chat remotely, laughing hilariously at Tigger's speech-to-text errors, jinxing each other when they make the same comment simultaneously, and making annoying references to Survivor New Zealand's first boot Josee, just to irritate Catlover. Why does Hollywood think we care to see THAT, I Wonder? Or we can skip all that and just focus on the one we KNOW is fun! Holey Moley, celebrity hosts colour-commenting on amateurs playing miniature golf, returns for season two. Can't wait for the fun to begin. Friday, May 22nd Wide Open... So, would anyone like to begin a rewatch? A Survivor rewatch perhaps? Or an Amazing Race rewatch? Or something international, maybe? I'll see if I can come up with a few suggestions soon. In the meantime, these are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything or if you have anything to add... please do so in the comments. |
