Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Going to keep this kind of short today. Not sure why, but I couldn't find anything clever to ramble on about. Got a late start on this last night and didn't get it fully done - and NOW church is calling, so I need to wrap it up quickly and get out of here. So... here we go: Sunday, June 27th "The Chase: I Don't Think We've Seen Anything Like THAT Before" Season 2 Episode 4, 9 pm on ABC The BEAST is a fun addition to this season. There used to be a "Chase" game app (that my daughter introduced me to years ago) in which you were competing against "The Beast". I'm not sure at the time I knew there was a REAL guy - I hadn't heard of the show yet. Now it's funny to see that App graphic in real person form. I'm sure the show must have been on quite a long time ago in the UK. Anyway.. moving on again. "To Tell The Truth: Brad Garrett. Michael Ealy and Jeannie Mai. " Season 7 Episode 4, 10 pm on ABC Wow... I know two of the three on this week's panel! Brad Garrett is sure to be a hoot. What happened to all of our fans of this show? We used to get quite a few interested parties. Whether I chat these shows or not will depend on who is at home at my place - I'll have to let you know. OOH.. unless we want to have a good old-fashioned "movie group watch". A classic film from 1960 telling the creepy story of Norman Bates is on tonight. That's right... "Psycho" is playing on Turner Classic Movies! Actually, not sure I care to watch this. It triggers a really bad memory from my childhood. Heh. Shall I tell the story? Maybe not the complete one. Let's just say that one of my siblings decided to pull a very mean practical joke on me late one Friday night after I watched this movie and it took a long, long time to settle me down. I was far too young for a movie like this in the first place. Parents weren't home; older sister baby sitting; other sibling with a bit of a mean streak. Use your imagination. Did any of you ever see the TV show "Bates Motel"? I saw the premier episode one night when the power had gone out and only had my phone to use. I sure regretted it - never went past the first episode. I only checked it out for Freddie Highmore. Won't do that again.... Anyway, moving on... Monday, June 28th "The Bachelorette: Katie Thurston", Season 17 Episode 4, 8 pm on ABC WM? One trouble-maker gets sent home, and another one pops up to take his place - his fate will be determined at tonight's rose ceremony (suspect the producers will keep this guy around a bit longer). Two front-runners had been established in the early episodes - last week, a widowed dad trumped them both and moved solidly to the front of the pack. Okay guys, we've got our extremes established. Now all you middling players need to step up your games or risk becoming after-thoughts! Tuesday, June 29th America's Got Talent, Auditions, Season 16 Episode 5, 8 to 10 pm. Enjoyable season so far but sadly, not enough time to walk down memory lane right now (Simon pulls practical joke on Sofia Vergara?) Maybe later. Hey... another episode of TTTT this week. 10 pm on Fox. Okay, it's not a new one (an episode from season four) but I don't think I've seen this one. This was three years ago before I knew this was a "thing". But check out these guests! Featured celebrities "Weird Al" Yankovic, Rob Riggle, Jesse Williams and Sherri Shepherd. Weird Al and Rob Riggle on the same show? I bet this was a fun one. Maybe I'll watch it just for fun. Wednesday, June 23th "Masterchef Legends", Season 18 Episode 5, Sherry Yard - Desserts, 8 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: "One of the world's most influential pastry chefs, Sherry Yard, visits the kitchen; the dessert challenge puts the spotlight on the home cooks' baking skills for the first time." Never heard of Sherry Yard. Heh. I'm really not up on my cooking legends. **Alert. I may not be home this evening - or at least not till kind of late. I'll do the pages early just in case. But if I'm not here, it's because there is an event I want to attend at church. If I get out of work in enough time to make it happen, I plan to. Or I'll catch up these two shows later, in the event that I miss the chat. "Crime Scene Kitchen: Red, White and Clue", Season 1 Episode 6, 9 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: The bakers head back into the kitchen to take on a new challenge; the best dessert detectives continue on in the competition and the duo that falls short will head home; guest judge Aarón Sánchez. HEY! Looks who's chiming in on "Crime Scene Kitchen"! How fun!! I'm just waiting for the day when Gordon Ramsey himself makes an appearance! Thursday, July 1st "Making It: Random Crafts of Kindness", Season 3 Episode 2, 8 pm on NBC Episode synopsis reads like this: Nick and Amy embrace the theme of sharing as the Makers create a dozen unique cookies for a cookie swap; the sharing continues as the Makers create a lending library themed to something they would want to share with their own neighborhood. Aw, love that title. What a fun show to celebrate what for many is an enjoyable hobby, the art of making crafts. The creativity that comes out of these people can be astounding. Makes me want to find a craft fair to go to as soon as possible. "Holey Moley: Earth Wind Fire Donuts", Season 3 Episode 4, 9 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Golfers face three new holes, including Putt-A-Saurus, Parcade and Donut Hole; those who succeed face off on Dutch Courage En Fuego and joust their way to victory on King Parthur's Court. That picture... heh. Those hosts! They both are a hoot. Love this show so much.. such goofy entertainment. "The Hustler: Pick The Weird Stuff", Season 2 Episode 3, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Ivy League schools and truffles are clues to discovering the identity of the hustler. So funny that while last week's Hustler was obvious to all of us watching, it was completely missed by the two guys because they were so busy pointing fingers at each other. I do enjoy this very much. Friday, July 2nd "Survivor South Africa" Episode 5 (8 pm for all interested parties). If you want to join in but need to catch up with the first four episodes, let me know- I'll see if I can help. Such a fun season so far... it would be well worth your time to catch up and join in - if you love Survivor like I do! These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fantastic Sunday! Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, First, before anything else, let me just say... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! To all of our dads, step-dads, granddads, great granddads... whatever kind of dad you are, I wish for you a wonderful day! Have a great one! So in honor of this, I am currently watching a movie which centers around Einstein and his daughter. Okay, she is his niece, not daughter. so it really has nothing to do with Father's day at all. But I remember I loved this movie at one time. It is, of course, "IQ" starring the wonderful Walter Matthau as Albert Einstein himself. Meg Ryan is his niece Catherine. Timothy Robbins is Ed, the young man who steals her heart. And not to be left out, we have Tony Shalhoub as one of Ed's co-workers and friends. Any movie with MONK in it must be good, right? Made in 1994, full of scientific and philosophical conversation done with humor, the movie is about Einstein (with the help of some old science buddies) working to help his young niece learn that she should marry for love, not for the hope of one day giving birth to a genius mind like her uncle's. She is engaged to a boring, no personality scientist who she doesn't really love. But she thinks this is the best thing she can contribute to science (Meg herself is a brilliant mathematician). Then a chance encounter with Ed, a garage mechanic, sets her course on a different path. Pretty good flick. Not sure what kind of popularity it had when it came out in 1994 but I loved it so the Academy probably hated it... for the most part, that is the way it goes for me and Hollywood. Einstein to Ed: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ed to Einstein: "What are the odds of THAT happening?" It's been nice to see some fun chats happening now with more people showing up to join. There have been so few chattable TV shows for a while, then last week was filled with great fun. Hoping we can continue the trend. Let's take a look at what the week has to offer: Sunday, June 20th "The Chase: Let's See If You've Got the Guts" Season 2 Episode 3, 9 pm on ABC The BEAST has arrived. Pretty fun show. I never know any answers unless they get me with an MGM musical question, like one about Officer Krupke, as they did last week. Of course, the song has been running through my head all week long... just because I heard that one question! "To Tell The Truth: Kevin Nealon, Retta, and Francia Raisa. " Season 7 Episode 3, 10 pm on ABC Celebrity panelists Kevin Nealon, Retta, and Francia Raisa. I can say I know who Kevin Nealon is.. not really a fan. The other two, absolutely no idea. But still a pretty fun show. Anyone care to chat it this week? Monday, June 21st "The Bachelorette: Katie Thurston", Season 17 Episode 3, 8 pm on ABC Episode Synopsis reads like this: "Former Bachelor Nick Viall helps the men share some of their personal stories; drama begins to boil over in the house." WM? American Ninja Warrior, Season 13, Episode 3 Qualifiers, 9 to 11 pm on NBC The qualifiers continue at the Tacoma Dome with a new generation of ninjas facing up to six challenging obstacles, including the new Air Surfer and Pretzel Twist in addition to the iconic Warped Wall. Thought I'd mention this since we had someone express an interest in it this week. Didn't realize it was bumped to 9 pm. Whether or not I watch will probably depend on who is home. Will decide on Monday. Tuesday, June 22nd America's Got Talent, Auditions, Season 16 Episode 4, 8 to 10 pm. Not a lot of good ones to talk about from last week but this ONE was pretty interesting... and quite entertaining. AND, The Golden Buzzer for the night. Wednesday, June 23rd "Masterchef Legends", Season 18 Episode 4, Chef Morimoto - Monkfish Challenge, 8 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: "Legendary Michelin Star chef Masaharu Morimoto sets the bar high with his monkfish demonstration, leaving the cooks desperate to impress in their first elimination challenge." Let the competition officially begin now that they have officially given out all of the coveted Masterchef Aprons. There will be a live chat. "Crime Scene Kitchen: Rock and Roll", Season 1 Episode 5, 9 pm on Fox I would post an episode synopsis but it pretty much reads the same way as last weeks. Enjoying this one quite a lot though. Fun little show. Thursday, June 24th "Making It: One In A Million" Premiere, 8 pm on NBC Nick and Amy get to know a new batch of makers; first in the faster craft, the makers make a toy that represents their personality and who they are; then in the master craft, they create a family portrait that shows off their birth or chosen family. Excited about the return of this fun little show. I know I can get a few to play along. "Holey Moley: No Apparent Fear of Death", Season 3 Episode 3, 9 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Two players face off on Holey Matrimony; a psychic goes up against a basketball mentor on the Agony of Defeat; the first contestant of the season survives the North Pole's Ho Ho Hole. More summer fun with Holey Moley. The show where the show hosts are almost more entertaining then the show itself. "The Hustler, Next Level Hustle", Season 2 Episode 2, 10 pm on ABC Five new contestants compete. This is all Zap2it had to say about this episode. Not very chatty, are they. But the show is fun. I never guess right but it's fun trying. Friday, June 25th "Survivor South Africa" Episode 4 (8 pm for all interested parties). If you want to join in but need to catch up with the first three episodes, let me know. I'll see if I can help. Excellent season so far. As always... These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fantastic Sunday!
