Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, First, before anything else, let me just say... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! To all of our dads, step-dads, granddads, great granddads... whatever kind of dad you are, I wish for you a wonderful day! Have a great one! So in honor of this, I am currently watching a movie which centers around Einstein and his daughter. Okay, she is his niece, not daughter. so it really has nothing to do with Father's day at all. But I remember I loved this movie at one time. It is, of course, "IQ" starring the wonderful Walter Matthau as Albert Einstein himself. Meg Ryan is his niece Catherine. Timothy Robbins is Ed, the young man who steals her heart. And not to be left out, we have Tony Shalhoub as one of Ed's co-workers and friends. Any movie with MONK in it must be good, right? Made in 1994, full of scientific and philosophical conversation done with humor, the movie is about Einstein (with the help of some old science buddies) working to help his young niece learn that she should marry for love, not for the hope of one day giving birth to a genius mind like her uncle's. She is engaged to a boring, no personality scientist who she doesn't really love. But she thinks this is the best thing she can contribute to science (Meg herself is a brilliant mathematician). Then a chance encounter with Ed, a garage mechanic, sets her course on a different path. Pretty good flick. Not sure what kind of popularity it had when it came out in 1994 but I loved it so the Academy probably hated it... for the most part, that is the way it goes for me and Hollywood. Einstein to Ed: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Ed to Einstein: "What are the odds of THAT happening?" It's been nice to see some fun chats happening now with more people showing up to join. There have been so few chattable TV shows for a while, then last week was filled with great fun. Hoping we can continue the trend. Let's take a look at what the week has to offer: Sunday, June 20th "The Chase: Let's See If You've Got the Guts" Season 2 Episode 3, 9 pm on ABC The BEAST has arrived. Pretty fun show. I never know any answers unless they get me with an MGM musical question, like one about Officer Krupke, as they did last week. Of course, the song has been running through my head all week long... just because I heard that one question! "To Tell The Truth: Kevin Nealon, Retta, and Francia Raisa. " Season 7 Episode 3, 10 pm on ABC Celebrity panelists Kevin Nealon, Retta, and Francia Raisa. I can say I know who Kevin Nealon is.. not really a fan. The other two, absolutely no idea. But still a pretty fun show. Anyone care to chat it this week? Monday, June 21st "The Bachelorette: Katie Thurston", Season 17 Episode 3, 8 pm on ABC Episode Synopsis reads like this: "Former Bachelor Nick Viall helps the men share some of their personal stories; drama begins to boil over in the house." WM? American Ninja Warrior, Season 13, Episode 3 Qualifiers, 9 to 11 pm on NBC The qualifiers continue at the Tacoma Dome with a new generation of ninjas facing up to six challenging obstacles, including the new Air Surfer and Pretzel Twist in addition to the iconic Warped Wall. Thought I'd mention this since we had someone express an interest in it this week. Didn't realize it was bumped to 9 pm. Whether or not I watch will probably depend on who is home. Will decide on Monday. Tuesday, June 22nd America's Got Talent, Auditions, Season 16 Episode 4, 8 to 10 pm. Not a lot of good ones to talk about from last week but this ONE was pretty interesting... and quite entertaining. AND, The Golden Buzzer for the night. Wednesday, June 23rd "Masterchef Legends", Season 18 Episode 4, Chef Morimoto - Monkfish Challenge, 8 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: "Legendary Michelin Star chef Masaharu Morimoto sets the bar high with his monkfish demonstration, leaving the cooks desperate to impress in their first elimination challenge." Let the competition officially begin now that they have officially given out all of the coveted Masterchef Aprons. There will be a live chat. "Crime Scene Kitchen: Rock and Roll", Season 1 Episode 5, 9 pm on Fox I would post an episode synopsis but it pretty much reads the same way as last weeks. Enjoying this one quite a lot though. Fun little show. Thursday, June 24th "Making It: One In A Million" Premiere, 8 pm on NBC Nick and Amy get to know a new batch of makers; first in the faster craft, the makers make a toy that represents their personality and who they are; then in the master craft, they create a family portrait that shows off their birth or chosen family. Excited about the return of this fun little show. I know I can get a few to play along. "Holey Moley: No Apparent Fear of Death", Season 3 Episode 3, 9 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Two players face off on Holey Matrimony; a psychic goes up against a basketball mentor on the Agony of Defeat; the first contestant of the season survives the North Pole's Ho Ho Hole. More summer fun with Holey Moley. The show where the show hosts are almost more entertaining then the show itself. "The Hustler, Next Level Hustle", Season 2 Episode 2, 10 pm on ABC Five new contestants compete. This is all Zap2it had to say about this episode. Not very chatty, are they. But the show is fun. I never guess right but it's fun trying. Friday, June 25th "Survivor South Africa" Episode 4 (8 pm for all interested parties). If you want to join in but need to catch up with the first three episodes, let me know. I'll see if I can help. Excellent season so far. As always... These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fantastic Sunday!
