Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! It only took me until midnight to remember, but... today was the day of the big "Carol Burnett Show" marathon on Shout Factory TV! Jumped right into a skit that featured Carol with Lucille Ball. Two comedy legends. I wish I would have remembered about this earlier but now I suppose I will be Rat Paging Carol. Find a way to twist that phrase around, WM. Cat Paging Rarol? Paging Carol Rat? Page Rats Carolling? Sorry, don.r think it can be done! Looks like we were cool before our time. Watching TV as a channel. Chatting with each other as we watch. Seems now lot of people are getting this idea. And why not? It is a pretty fantastic way to interact with people. I know I've never met any of you personally but I do consider all of you friends. Nice we have a way to socialize. (While I wait for Mrs. O'Wiggins to answer the phone) let's check out our upcoming TV week fun. Oh wait! She finally answered, and the next clip is.... Tim Conway as James Blonde.... heh... with Harvey Korman as Doctor Nose. For the first time ever, these are FULL episodes (not the "best of" which lack all the musical numbers) but complete ones available to stream on Shout Factory TV beginning Monday, June 1st. Carol Burnett... guaranteed for a good laugh. And speaking of chatting while watching... Shout Factory TV apparently has this down pat. You can watch their shows LIVE and chat on TWITCH (Twitch?) with other channel fans while you watch. So maybe we weren't the FIRST ones to think of this. But I'll bet we ARE the best! Okay, really moving on now.... Sunday, May 31st Lots of game shows on ABC... CBS: The Sunday Night Movie: "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade", 8 pm I believe this is the third installment. I've always liked this one, actually. Apparently it wasn't the LAST crusade, since there has since been a fourth edition and a fifth in the works. Still, this is a pretty good one. Sean Connery as Indiana Jones senior! If you don't want to watch the movie, you COULD (if you missed them) catch up on: ___________ Wait! The channel is doing random Carol Burnett trivia questions. Here is the current one: "Carol started doing her famous "Tarzan" yell when she accidentally stabbed her foot on something backstage and let out a loud yell." True or False. (False) ***The Shout Factory TV Channel is accessible for free online, if anyone is interested (its also on the Pluto TV App or as an app on a Roku or Fire TV). A few other places too. Not sure if you Canadians can access it but... wouldn't it be fun. We could all make Twitch accounts on the Shout Factory TV website and invade their chat room (Hee hee... just kidding). _____________ Moving on (and finishing the first thought - you can catch these Sunday night to be ready for this Monday) "Titan Games" premiere from last Monday, at 8 pm on NBC and "America's Got Talent" premiere from last Tuesday... at 9 pm on NBC Monday, June 1st "The Titan Games" Season 2 Episode 2, 8 to 10 pm on NBC The good news for The Titan Games is that it doesn't have a lot of competition on network TV. The premiere was a good and the chat pretty successful. As mentioned, you do have a chance on Sunday to catch the repeat of the premiere if you'd like to be up-to-date for episode two! There will be a Live Chat Tuesday, June 2nd But first, "Tim Conway didn't always want to be in show business. What profession did he want to do instead?" Surprising answer to this one. "America's Got Talent" Season 15 Episode 2, 8 to 10 pm on NBC After what I considered to be a very strong premiere... it's time for episode 2. ______________ HA... A spoof of disaster movies entitled... "Disaster '75" Wonder what movie we're spoofing here? Titantic Air. Flight 1313... probably flying out on Friday the 13th. Delayed because of a family of black cats crossing the runway. ________________ Anyway, as mentioned above the premiere of AGT is being repeated on Sunday at 9 pm. So if you missed it, you have another chance. Then hopefully tonight I WON'T be talking to myself. Who knows... maybe there will be a good dog act! Wednesday, June 3rd The ABC Wednesday Night Movie: "Up" 8 pm on ABC Who doesn't love "UP". This is a fun one. One of my favorites. Grumpy Old Man voiced by Ed Asner (who we think was on "To Tell the Truth" last week!) What's not to love? Followed by.... "MARVEL Agents of Shield: Know Your Onions" Season 7 Episode 2, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Agents wonder if preserving the future as they know it is worth the destruction they could prevent." That's right... last week's episode ended with (paraphrasing) "To save Shield, we must save Hydra". SAVE HYDRA?! The final season of this show is underway and once again.. the season begins with Fitz missing. Will Fitz and Simmons EVER be together (better question, since this happens so, so often: is Fitz always trying to get away from her/ #HeeHeeHee) Or will they keep being separated by their circumstances for all eternity? Come on, they HAVE to find a way because... DEKE! There will be a live chat. "Know your onions"? Curious title. _________________ "Some characters played were based on real people. Which real life star did Carol portray on the show." Anyone know? I do. _________________ Thursday, June 4th "Council of Dads: Heart Medicine" Season 1 Episode 6 _________________ But first, just so you know... I'm seeing the Carol Burnett version of "Gone With The Wind" ("I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist!") So great. So memorable. So.... laugh out loud funny! _________________ Moving on, episode synopsis reads like this: "The Perry family and the Council all come together when Charlotte needs emergency surgery; Luly has a powerful meeting with her original adoptive parents that will change her life." Any thoughts, WM? What the hell happened to Charlotte? On a "montage of holidays" episode, finally a happy "late Dad's birthday" one - and at the end, Charlotte collapses on the ground in the middle of a paintball game! Mom, a doctor, is unable to get a pulse and desperately does CPR as they wait for the ambulance to arrive! WTH??? "Holey Moley: That Man Knows How To Ride A Weiner" Season 2 Episode 3 Are we sure that is title for THIS week's episode? I could swear this line was said last week ("I gotta say, he looks like he's ridden the wiener before" About to become a running gag?) Oh well, I guess we will find out. Fun little show. Anyone care to check it out? Followed by: "To Tell The Truth" 10 pm on ABC This weeks celebrity panelists are Jason Alexander, Dermot Mulroney, Amanda Seales and Abbi Jacobson. Jason Alexander could be fun! And Dermot! Our Prodigal Son villain! Anyone care to play along? Friday, June 5th "Survivor 15: China" Rewatch Episodes 3 and 4. Last Friday we began another walk down "Survivor" memory lane with a rewatch of Survivor China, Season 15. A few of us have seen the season; a few of us have not; a few think they have but have forgotten most of it. Whichever camp you are in, if you'd care to watch the first two episodes then join us for the rewatch (starting with episode 3 at 8 pm ish) you'd be more than welcome. __________________ Which Sketch from the Carol Burnett show was featured in all 11 seasons?" Fairly certain it was NOT the twenty-minute "Gone With The Wind" sketch. Heh. Oh yeah... now that I see the answer, it makes sense. __________________ Speaking of "Walks down TV memory lane", I'm really enjoying this Carol Burnett marathon. This show really does remind me of my Mom, who is no longer with us. But you know how our board always invoke the "Survivor Law" when a new episode of Survivor is airing? My mom had a "Carol Burnett Show" law: no big conversations, fights or problems with anything that needed her input were allowed to happen during The Carol Burnett show. It was a weekly tradition in our house. Recall this show began in 1967 when I was five years old. The tradition went on for most of my upbringing. It was "Bring on the popcorn and park yourself in front of the TV for the weekly fun!" We never missed it! So if I seem a little TOO excited at the idea of being able to re-live this show, just chalk it up to it a very nice memory I have with my MOM and her love for all things Carol Burnett. Other fun the Shout Factory TV site has to offer is "Mystery Science Theater 3000". Now, it has been a long time since I've seen an episode of this and I admit, it was NOT a show I never missed. It was big during my single years and I have some fond memories of doing Mystery Science Theater 3000 watches with a group of friends. Anyone else remember this show? It also has tons of classic TV and movies. Episodes of the old "Johnny Carson" show, for example (the original and the best nighttime talk show host) Anyway, moving on.... Not really seeing a lot of new TV premieres for anytime soon but there is one... "Tough As Nails", premiering July 8th at 9 pm, hosted by none other than channel favourite Phil Keogan! I'd watch this just for PHIL. CBS has already released a full list of cast photos on the CBS Press Express page. When it gets closer, I'll do up a page with a full cast and show information. I'm sure most of us The Amazing Race fans will be on board with at least checking this show out if for no other reason than to support Phil, who we all love and miss. Awww.. Phil. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fun and relaxing Sunday!
