Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Good morning! We are still in an "in-between" place: only a few new summer shows (mostly of the RTV variety) are kicking in this week. Not a lot of new scripted shows - except the one we've all been waiting for, that is. Stay tuned for the Wednesday section. North Carolina is having some gorgeous weather after several days of rain... and more rain... and more rain. Finally some sunshine! If I didn't have to work all afternoon, I would spend some time outside enjoying it. Oh well... Hope you all are well. Moving on to the upcoming week: Sunday, May 24th Wide open! I see nothing I want to initiate a chat for. A good movie night, perhaps? I saw the "Sunday Night Movie" CBS is showing.... Good movie. Though I recall when it came out hubby's reaction was "Why would anyone care to see that? We ALL know how it ends!" So he never did find out that as a sneak twist, this time James Cameron had ship MISS the iceberg and land safely in New York! Not sure I care to watch it tonight though. Might go for something lighter... we shall see. Monday, May 25th First, here in the US, Happy Memorial Day! And a deep and very heartfelt thank you to all who have served! God bless you. The Titan Games, Season 2 Premiere, 8 to 10 pm on NBC Show synopsis reads like this: "Following Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's belief that people have the potential to be the best they can be, exceptional everyday people test their strength and spirit as they compete head-to-head in hopes of reaching their goal of becoming a Titan." I know we had a few who followed this show last summer. I think I watched a few episodes but didn't really follow it to the end -not with my full attention anyway. I will do a live chat page for this and we will see who shows up to play. Tuesday, May 26th "America's Got Talent" Season 15 Episode 1 Premiere, 8 to 10 pm on NBC AGT is back; despite a couple of pretty bad seasons I'm not ready to give up on it completely. Show synopsis simply states: "Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews return with new judge Sofia Vergara." Just as a sidenote: I don't know... though I'm an episode or two behind on BGT, I don't feel like AGT is really THAT much different. I'm willing to give AGT a shot, realizing I might be the only one. At least we have Heidi back. I'll do a page for this first episode; then decide after that if I'll continue. "World of Dance" Season 4 Episode 1 Premiere; The Qualifiers, 10 pm on NBC I am not sure if I'm going to watch this show or not; wanted to mention in case anyone else is interested. I liked the first season but haven't been able to get excited about it since. Is my love for these kind of shows waning a little? Is my annoyance of all things JLo and her constant "goosies" the deterrent for me? I mean, it IS her show. Her production. Her concept. But her seasons judging "American Idol" really left a bad taste in my mouth that I just can't really shake. (May I suggest switching brands of mouthwash?) The problem is, there is very little in the way of good network TV shows, this week in particular. But there are a lot of great streaming options other places. This might end up being the summer of very little actual network TV. We'll see. Wednesday, May 27th THIS might be of interest: an ABC showing of... "THOR: The Dark World" 8 pm to 10 pm on ABC I mean.... it's THOR! And his Hammer! Followed by... "MARVEL Agents of Shield, Season 7 Premiere: The New Deal", 10 pm on ABC An episode that involves time travel is always of interest to me. There's always a chance they will run into Doctor Who! Can't wait to see what the finale season of this show brings. There will, for sure, be a live chat. **OOOOH..... just had a thought. If anyone would be interested in finding a moment to relive the last couple of episodes of last season before this premiere, I might be in for that. If no one has access, I might just find time to do that myself. Maybe tonight (Sunday).. anyone? If you are not interested in "Thor", we COULD do a channel watch at 8 pm of the premiere episode of Ultimate Tag (since I didn't watch the premiere and have been told it was pretty good) followed by a channel chat of the second episode. "Ultimate Tag: Real Men DO Cry", Season 2 Episode 1, 9 pm on Fox This Wednesday night MIGHT be the most active TV chat night we have for the week. Anyone interested? Thursday, May 28th "Council of Dads: Tradition" Season 1 Episode 5 Episode synopsis reads like this: "Robin tackles the fall holidays bravely but feels she can't compare to how well Scott handled them; Oliver struggles with Peter's transgression; Theo makes new friends, but they aren't the best influence; Luly gets news about her adoptive family." Not really following this one but some are. WM? "Holey Moley: That's One For The Scrapbook" Season 2 Episode 2 The fun of this show can often be found in the slapstick, goofy, elementary school humor of the hosts, Rob Riggle in particular (while I prefer sly straight man Joe better; he says so much with just his facial expressions) **Fun Fact: Watched the animated movie "Ugly Dolls" last night (voiced by Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and pre-"Voice" coach Nick Jonas) which had a robot that wa voiced by none other than Rob Riggle! Perhaps explains where the "robot" concept from the last "Holey Moley" came from. And the ingenuity is that it doesn't REMOTELY resemble any kind of mini-golf I've ever played! This season is looking MUCH more "Fear Factor" than golf! But I find it a very fun diversion. There will be a live chat. I suppose there are times when I possess an "elementary school" level of humor myself... Case in point: how amused I was by the USTA announcement about "You can kick your opponents balls but you can't touch them". Glad they clarified that for the eight to eighteen year old boys (and girls) they were showing that video to in the USTA Junior Tennis circles. Last week, following "Holey Moley", I let the episode of... "To Tell The Truth" 10 pm on ABC ...play through and really enjoyed it... a lot. Of course, Joel McHale makes everything more fun, and he was last week's guest. Might spend some more time with this show. You know how I truly love guessing games. My goodness... one of the people they had as a diversion trying to convince the panel he was a bee keeper was none other than Will Shortz the Puzzle King! Know of him; have never seen a picture of him. He did a great job fooling people. Friday, May 29th "Survivor 15: China" (Picked by WM) will be the next rewatch. Interested in another walk down Survivor memory lane? The rewatch will begin as close to 8 pm as we can. Sources to watch episodes through would be CBS All Access, Hulu, and Prime all three. If you have none of those, I'm sure we can find good links on YouTube or Dailymotion. Going to leave it here for now, as I have to work shortly. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fun and relaxing Sunday!
