Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV folks... Not a lot to report for this upcoming week. Going to keep this a little short. An early morning tomorrow. Right now distracted by a movie with daughter - a musical version of Freaky Friday... (FREAKY!) and also blind blogging with WM over the wonderful "Sound of Music". Speaking of which, it has become a tradition on our site to have an annual "Sound of Music" watch and chat during the Christmas season. Why, you might ask? This film is, in no way, a Christmas movie. There is not a single scene in it which deals with the Christmas season. Not a one. The closest it comes is the song "My Favorite Things", which mentions "bright paper packages tied up with strings" and "silver white winters that melt into spring". These are the only references anywhere. Clutching at straws, right? So why do the networks insist on only showing this movie a week before Christmas? It wasn't made and destined to be a Christmas movie. Oh well. It's one of those unsolvable mysteries I mentioned last week. Still, it IS a wonderful movie. So next week on Sunday, December 20th we will watch and chat through the ABC network airing of "The Sound of Music" at 7 pm. It's a tradition, after all. We can even do it as a sing-a-long, so you can chant to your heart's content without any of us actually hearing you sing! (small favors, or in my case, very generous favours!) If you have the same love for this movie as WM, Ali and myself, we would love to have you join us. Sunday, December 13th Still nothing I care about on Sunday. More Hallmark Christmas, I guess. Monday, December 14th "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, The Men Tell All" Season 16 Episode 10, 8 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: Tayshia agonizes over which of the men's families to meet for hometown dates; some of the men look back at the season's romance, drama and heartbreak. Apparently moved to Monday. WM? No, two episodes this week. The "hometowns" are on Monday and "The Men Tell All" on Tuesday. Tonight we'll meet the families of the guys (sad back stories alert!) then tomorrow it's shout and fight and rehash old grudges (with one spoiler over who isn't moving on revealed in the promo!) "The Voice: Live Top 9 Finale, Part 1" Season 19 Week 8, 8 pm on NBC This is the first season in a long time that I didn't keep up. Maybe 2021 will be better.... Tuesday, December 15th "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, The Men Tell All" Season 16 Episode 11, 8 pm on ABC Ah. TWO episodes this week! "The Voice Finale Part 2 " 8 pm on NBC We'll use the same page as Monday - if a chat happens, that is. "Big Sky: A Good Day To Die" Season 1 Episode 5, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis: Jenny and Cassie race against the clock to close in on Legarski as he and Ronald prepare to move the girls; Jerrie makes one last attempt to convince Ronald to let them go; Cassie visits Merilee to question her about her husband. WM? It's the fall finale! Does that mean....leaving with a cliff-hanger, or maybe completely wrapping up this season and introducing a new case for Jenny and Cassie to solve in the spring? We never know what kinds of twists these producers might throw at us - and I can't wait to find out! Wednesday, December 16th "The Amazing Race: Now It's About Winning" Finale, Season 32 Episode 12, 8 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: "With the $1 million prize on the line, the final three teams travel to New Orleans; one team is crowned the winner." One more episode. Do we care who wins, or do we only care that one team DOESN'T win? "The Masked Singer: Road To the Finals" Season 4, Episode 12, 8 to 10 pm on FOX followed by Episode 13 Finale "Last Mask Standing" Episode synopsis: The three finalists perform one last time before all are unmasked and one singer takes home the trophy. Two episodes tonight, but the first one seems like a recap show. Would you all care to do the finale at 9 pm after TAR? I think I would. I don't need the recap. Hmmm.... "Last Mask Standing". Wonder if Tim Allen will be the guest panelist? heh. His final season of "Last Man Standing" is soon to premiere on Fox. Final season... awwwww. I'll miss that show. Thursday, December 17th Star Trek Discovery: Despite Yourself", Season 1 Episode 10, 10 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: "While in unfamiliar territory, the crew must get creative to survive against opposing forces and return home." Okay... this doesn't look like Michael OR Tilly. What gives? Who is this chick? And she looks nothing like an older Demi Moore! Friday, December 18th I've given up on trying to initiate any kind of chat right now. Everyone is too busy right now, I guess. Holiday Season and all. But I DO have some news. Here is a full list of upcoming winter premieres, if you are interested. I will repost the link in the comments because for some reason the link never works up here in the heading. No idea why. Won't have time in the morning to figure it out. https://www.tvinsider.com/973524/midseason-tv-schedule-2021-premiere-dates/ A few of interest to ME: "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" second season premieres on Tuesday, January 5th at 8 pm. It's the prime spot, right before "This Is Us" on NBC. In the "going to the well once too often" department comes "The Masked Dancer", yet another in the "Mask" franchise. This one is hosted by Craig Robinson, and will premiere on December 27th at 8 pm (Finally! Something of interest on Sunday). But this is only for the premier. It's real time slot is Wednesday at 8 pm. "The Resident" and "Prodigal Son" on Fox both making their return on January 12th. I'm sure there are some others but for now, I'll leave it at that. And... found an article of interest to "Survivor" fans. It's dated November 30th and I have found no more recent update since, but... here it is. https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2020/11/survivor-41-42-updates-dominican-republic-2021/ There COULD be three seasons of "Survivor" filmed in 2021. Here is an excerpt from the article written by Andy Dehnart of "Reality Blurred". "The new news is that CBS has been pushing to film three seasons in 2021 and airing one of them in the summer” Holmes reported, noting that Survivor 41 could air next summer, with season 42 in the fall and season 43 in spring 2022 (when they would have aired normally). But he notes that “there is some push back on the production side regarding filming three seasons consecutively.” Read the full article linked above for more detail. We'll see. Seems to me like filming three seasons so close together could be a very tall order. It does sound like they are back to casting the seasons though. Feeling a bit hopeful. These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments.
Merry Christmas and Happy Sunday!
