Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, Hope you are all well on this fine and beautiful - though a little bit chilly - spring morning. Daughter was having snow yesterday up in the mountains. SNOW! On April 9th in North Carolina! Mind blowing. I've been so busy during the week that yesterday I could not have mustered up the enthusiasm to do much of anything. So, I puttered. Around the house; out in the yard; accomplishing a little bit but I can't say I put any kind of dent in all the projects I should have. But somehow, I managed to do enough to avoid actually getting in the car and going anywhere. Ever had a day like that? Where the thought of having to leave the comfort of home was so overwhelming, you just wanted to do all you could do to avoid it? Today this will not be the case. Heading to church shortly; after, have a lunch thing to go to. Then tomorrow. the "overwhelming busy" will start all over again. I guess all those years of raising kids and only working part time had me very spoiled. Don't get me wrong, I like my job. I do. But full-time, no time for much else work is almost more than I want. That being said, I'm very thankful for this job and for the people I get to be around every day. It really is a good place for me and once we are at last fully-staffed (and so much extra stops falling on me) it will be perfect. Anyway, a four-day work week due to the upcoming Easter Holiday, so relief is coming soon! Now, how about our TV week? Sunday, April 10th There was once a day when I would make a big deal out of advertising... "American Idol", 8 pm on ABC But I'm hopelessly behind and haven't really been able to catch up. No one has been showing up anyway. So instead... I know... I've seen it a million times. And I will probably watch it a million times more. But it has come to my attention that the folks at "The Chosen" have planned Sunday night watch parties - two episodes per night - starting TONIGHT at 8:30 pm. Seems a wonderful thing to do through for Easter season, certainly. Also, season three will be coming around in the fall. The thing is... you might recall, I had talked about launching a second site. It would be attached to this same Weebly account but separate from this one. The second one would feature family-friendly, inspirational television, movie, music, and other such content. I actually built the site - about four months ago - but haven't launched it yet. Why? Job went full time, and I just don't feel like I have the time to do it justice. Or do the work necessary to find an interested audience. It WAS; however, built with "The Chosen" as its main blog page... sort of like Survivor is on this one. The original intention was to spend the summer doing a weekly watch of an episode or two with a discussion page. Then when season three starts in the fall, do "real time" watch parties as each episode is released. Might still do it at some point, if I can find a few people to participate. OR I might continue to put it off until work slows down, or I go part time again (which COULD happen). But at this point it seems unlikely it will be anytime soon - or even at all. All that to say, "American Idol" will probably lose out to "The Chosen" on Sundays because I love it, find it completely inspiring, and never tire of the experience. If anyone was interested in having this amazing experience with me... let me know and you might help encourage me to launch the new site sooner. Heh. "The Rookie: Backstabbers", Season 4 Episode 18, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: The team is called to investigate a train robbery; Officer Chen has doubts about being Sgt. Bradford's aid; Officer Harper takes matters into her own hands and makes a life-changing decision about her personal life. Now, if I do the "Chosen" watch party, it will run into this, so chances are good I will not be on hand to participate in this chat. I'll just have to catch the episode later. Will let you all know what the decision is. Oh, who am I kidding? I truly cannot resist a good "Chosen" watch party! Monday, April 11th Now that "Australian Survivor" is over (and what an amazing season it was... completely satisfying end. And yet many reviews are lukewarm...), I'm not seeing anything on Monday we normally chat. Well, there's that second AI episode that I will probably miss. Unless you all know of something. Night off? Or, maybe a continuation of that "Raising Dion" watch. I've been getting a lot of good out of my "Frndly TV" streaming app these days. They can't completely claim ALL family-friendly now, but they still are the best streaming deal you can get for ten bucks a month. If nothing else, I have about a million mystery movies I can choose from (a million!) Or maybe take a night off TV and read a book. I keep threatening to do that - one day I will follow through. Heh. Tuesday, April 12th There was a day when I would mention "The Resident" in the 8 pm time slot because it was my favorite medical drama. Then this season opened with the loss of Nic, which I found devastating, followed by a Halloween episode that I had to turn off in the middle because I found it so disturbing. So I haven't watched another second of the show. That Halloween episode completely turned me off of the series. "This Is Us: Katoby" Season 6 Episode 12, 9 pm on NBC Episode synopsis reads like this: Kate and Toby's relationship evolves over a few years. Aww. this is going to be a sad one, I bet. Bring Kleenex. "The Thing About Pam: She's A Killer", FINALE, 10 pm on NBC The finale episode synopsis reads like this: Pam goes to shocking and absurd extremes to extricate herself from the web of lies she has spun; some measure of justice, redemption and hope is finally found. They will finally figure out what we have known all along... Pam did it! Can't wait to see her brought to justice. But can I be the first one to applaud Renee Zellweger for her portrayal of Pam? She has created a truly original character that completely absorbs you, for better and for worse. A lot of things to marvel about; Renee's fantastic performance, Judy Greer's dark hair, Josh Duhamel's dark, curly hair (which makes him look even less like himself). Heh. So much to say about this series, and for some reason I can't get over the hair on these two people! Wednesday, 13th "Survivor Season 42: You Can't Hide On Survivor; The Devil You Do or The Devil You Don't", Episode 6 and 7, 8 - 10 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: Castaways drop their buffs and rearrange tribes before an intense immunity challenge; one castaway is taken to another island and has the power to change the game. Did I know it would be a two-hour episode tonight (yes, you did)? And I wonder if episode six is the swap mentioned, followed by the actual merge on episode seven? (As long as episode seven ISN'T the result of the "hour-glass smashing" decision! For the love of all that is good and holy, please do NOT repeat that travesty of Survivor 41!) That would be nuts. Surely not... right? Guess we will find out. "Beyond the Edge: You Ain't In Hollywood No More", Season 1 Episode 5, 9 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: The eight remaining celebrities push themselves past their limits as their physical injuries begin to take a toll; two celebrities step up to earn more money for their charities; one celebrity seeks medical attention after taking a dangerous fall. The two-hour Survivor has bumped this show to 10 pm. And it is interfering with the Domino show for ME. Dang it. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. Thursday, April 14th Has anyone been watching the "Law and Order" reboot? Just curious. I haven't, but have wondered if it is any good. "Masterchef Junior Edition: Daphne's Baby Shower", Season 19 Episode 4, 8 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: To celebrate the approaching birth of her baby, judge Daphne Oz challenges the remaining 12 young chefs to divide into two teams and create the ultimate savory and sweet balanced meal. I keep mentioning this because I AM really enjoying it; but for some reason getting home at 8 pm is proving difficult these days. But the show is very fun. If anyone besides me is watching, let me know if a chat page should be done. Having a little trouble buying that eight-year-old little Ivy, who is as adorable as they come, can cook better than me (though if I'm being honest, that wouldn't take much) Still, little Ivy lights up the room whenever she smiles so I will keep watching just for her. "Ghosts: Attic Girl", Season 1 Episode 17, 9:00 pm on CBS Episode synopsis reads like this: An eighties "mean girl" ghost named Stephanie, who died on her prom night, is awakened in the attic, triggering Sam to confront what happened on her own prom night; Alberta discovers she has another special gift. She's been asleep in the attic since the eighties and no one KNEW? Maybe her physical body was in a coma all that time and she just passed away! Look at me, trying to put some LOGIC into this show. What am I doing? No new "Big Sky" tonight. Did the season end? WM? Two - or three? - week break, starting up again to close out the season on the first week of May. I confess; I did check out the Fox comedy called "Welcome to Flatch". Just the first three episodes. Have not yet decided if I will continue. Not the WORST show to watch (Heh... see what I did there?). The comparison to "Parks and Recreation" is legit. A Fox (the network this airs on) documentary crew is visiting Flatch to do a series on a small town in Ohio... even though it is filmed entirely right here in North Carolina. So a lot of the dialogue is to the camera, similar to "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation". But I'm not sure the quality of the writing for this comedy is quite there yet. It has potential though; might just need a bit more time. And to be fair, I haven't seen all episodes available. I admit, I like most of the characters' quirkiness. Except the one I dislike the most is the one the show seems to center around (not the one pictured above). But the one in THIS pic. She is a bit over the top for me (although HE is pretty funny). They aren't a romantic couple; just best friends who grew up together in this town. Both are struggling to find their footing as young adults - seem to be floundering a bit, though both have a friendship with the town's new pastor, a man who at one time was a member of a contemporary Christian music boy band. This I don't trust; I'm sure they are planning to make much mockery about THAT as time goes on - which might end up causing me to give up on it. But if they end up letting the pastor be a GOOD influence on these two messed up kids, it might keep me watching. Time will tell, I guess. We will see how it goes; in particular, whether I actually catch up the available episodes. Friday, April 15 Wish you all a wonderful day. I actually have this day off work, which will be fun. A drive up the mountain to pick daughter up. Probably dinner out somewhere. Not sure what time I'll be available but with daughter home, don't know about the "Raising Dion" chat. Ali, will have to get back to you on this. And... STILL worried about Ololuge. It has been a couple of months since she has commented anywhere. Praying for her that she is doing well, and nothing is seriously wrong. Hope she drops in soon to let us know. I do not have an email for her so not able to check in on her that way. Prayers for Ololuge. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
