Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, Hope you all are well on this beautiful Sunday morning. Of course, it is Memorial Day weekend here in the US; a day to remember with love and appreciation all those wonderful heroes who died while serving in the military. Our fallen heroes. I have a couple in my family history; I'm sure most of us do. But somehow it has become a day for all big box stores to offer huge deals. Now everyone wants to go shopping instead of remembering the meaning of the day. I am thankful to have a long weekend, and two beautiful little kittens to play with, always a treat. I like my job a lot, but I must say, the week before a holiday is so busy for me it has become a nuisance (just kidding!) The person who did these tasks before me used to say, "This is the only job I've ever had that has made me hate holidays." HA! I so get what he means. I don't work this Monday but the prep time for being able to take the day off is a huge, massive project that has now fallen on me. What HAVE I gotten myself into? Gone is the era of much free time during the day, back when the kids were growing up back when a part-time job meant "part-time". Somehow, this job has gone full time and is taking over my life. Not complaining... just stating a fact. Looking ahead to the TV week, things are looking pretty bleak. While trying to find International "Survivor" info, I saw THIS little tidbit. Attention, anyone who loves iconic Survivor players: Two of MY personal favorites! Must say, this concept sounds a bit "Mole"ish. Of course, being on Peacock, I would imagine only those with the Peacock network can watch. Is it offered some other way in Canada? Will be looking for more details as they become available. "Survivor South Africa" will air in July, I learned during my search. But no details yet about when in July. I also do not see any sign that there will be more "Australian Survivor" this summer, which surprises me. For some reason, I thought I had heard that there would be two this year. Where is DNA42 when you need a question like this answered? Anyway... moving on to this week: Sunday, May 29th Not seeing anything I care to chat tonight. Will probably check out what new movies might be available on the Frndly App. Or maybe I'll take the night off TV. Am I allowed to do that? HA. It's been a while. Monday, May 30th In loving memory of all those who lost their lives in service to our country. We appreciate you all. Thank you for your service. "American Ninja Warrior All-Star Spectacular!" 8 pm on NBC Fan favorites compete in the wildest head-to-head ANW competition ever; iconic obstacles get super-sized -- some as high as 80 feet (you mean...Angelina's ladder?) -- as all-star ninjas face off on challenges including the Big Dipper, Spring Forward and the first-ever Cat Grab. Have not decided if I'm watching this but a page could, for sure, be done. It's one of those competitions I enjoy every now and then, but I rarely stick with for an entire season. I don't believe this is the start of a new season; instead, it's an extra that is part of the previous one. Let me know if anyone cares to chat. Tuesday, May 31st Hey! Noticed that Fox is airing a repeat of "Crime Scene Kitchen" season one which prompted me to do a search. and learned that there actually WILL be a season 2 See this link for details... Crime Scene Kitchen Season 2: Ready to solve the clues again? (foodsided.com) Same unnecessary host, poor Joel McHale. Same judges Curtis Stone and Yolanda Gampp. No premiere date announced yet but at least we now know we are getting a second season 2! Good news to me. "Holey Moley: Can You Feel The Urge!" Season 4, Episode 5, 8 pm on ABC Eight contestants joust their way to victory on King Parthur's Court, attempt to avoid a slip-up at Hole Number Two and face off in a neck-and-neck race that erupts at Polecano. I now have a dilemma...... And I must say, since I have such a difficult time with ABC, I might just resort to doing this show next day on Hulu. Because.... "America's Got Talent; Auditions" Season 17 Premiere, 8 to 10 pm on NBC I always enjoy this show... and it is kicking off on this night. My choice will come down to whether anyone else cares to chat me. If so, I will watch AGT as it airs because NBC is so much easier to work with than ABC for me. I can get ABC shows on demand next day via Hulu with no issues. However, missing the chat for "Holey Moley" would be sad. Okay, just decided - I will do a page for both and watch AGT in live time. We will see how it goes this week. Wednesday, June 1st "Masterchef: Back to Win, Audition Battles Part 2", Season 20 Episode 2, 8 pm on Fox The audition battles continue; three chefs who previously competed in the junior edition return to compete for the first time as adults. Completely forgot that this show got underway last week. Will make sure to catch episode one, probably today, so that I can be ready to live chat tonight. "So You Think You Can Dance", Season 17 Episode 3, 9 pm on Fox Also forgot to watch episode two of this! Heard that one of it's judges - former "Glee" star Matthew Morrison - was removed from the judges panel, some time between the audition phase and the live shows. Wonder what he did to "break protocol"? It's a shame. Not sure if I'll be sticking with this. Wish they had kept Mary and Nigel. Thursday, June 2nd "Masterchef Junior Edition: Alexander In a Box", Season 19 Episode 12, 8 pm, Fox followed by Episode 13 "WWE Tag Team", 9 pm on Fox Previous junior edition winner Alexander Weiss guest judges; the chefs must filet as many fish as they can in 15 minutes; the three chefs who filet the least number of fish need to create a show-stopping salmon dish to make it to the final four. and then... The four remaining junior chefs pair up with WWE superstars, who are much more comfortable in the ring; the winning junior receives tickets to a WWE match; in the elimination challenge, the chefs prepare one of Gordon Ramsay's signature dishes. That's right, back-to-back episodes tonight. EJetson, if you think you'd like to chat these two episodes, I'll go ahead and do a page. "The Orville" Season 3, released this day on Hulu. "The Orville" is releasing it's long-delayed third season on Hulu today. I'm still not sure if I still want to watch. I read an article about Seth McFarlane and why he preferred it move from Fox to Hulu. He wanted fewer restrictions on content and an escape from the Fox network (which is finding success mostly with game shows these days). I see his point there, I truly do. However, I was sort of on the bubble with this show as it was - could be great fun sometimes, then really make me mad other times. With the ability to avoid network TV restrictions, I have a feeling I won't care to continue with this. Might watch the first episode just to see. Do we know yet if Canadians have access to this show? WM? Ali? That might help me make my choice: if we can get a chat going, I might at least start it with you just to see. Friday, June 3rd "Raising Dion", Season 2: Beginning with Episode 4 We seem to be having issues finding time to finish this. Might be free this week, but I'm not really sure yet if I have any special plans. Maybe they can wait until Saturday, so ... shall we try again?
These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments
