Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV folks.. BIG WEEK for all of us as it is... CHRISTMAS WEEK! Merry Christmas to you all! I never got around to doing a Christmas page. Strange year, 2020. I know we are all a bit weary and worn out. Praying for everyone to have a nice break from a that as we celebrate the Christmas season. We should use these daily pages to have a Holiday party all week long. Favorite movie / TV Christmas clips. Songs. Memories while we gear up for Christmas and New Years and the end of this long, long year. I will start. Since I didn't get to see her on TMS (when I was convinced she was half of the duo Barn Owls), how about a nice Amy Grant Christmas song: One of my favorites. And I have so many. Will do my best to remember to use the daily page this week for Christmas fun. Now, moving on to our TV week: Sunday, December 20th And to start our week: as mentioned last Sunday, tonight is our annual viewing of the "not really a Christmas movie but still a wonderful film which for some reason has been designated a Christmas picture even if it is not in any way about the Christmas season"... "The Sound of Music", 7 pm on ABC "I have confidence in sunshine; I have confidence in rain; I have confidence that spring will come again.... " Ahhh... great words to live by. "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things" "Doe... a deer, a female deer / Ray... a drop of golden sun" / Just a sampling of some of the wonderful songs you will be regaled with if you watch this movie. It's a lovely opportunity to chat through one of the classic movies of our time. So grab a bowl full of popcorn (or your snack of choice) and a glass of whatever... and join us as we chat and sing our way through this wonderful Holiday (no, not really in any way Christmas) favorite. Monday, December 21st "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, Season 16 Episode 12, 8 pm on ABC "Tayshia takes her relationships with Brendan, Ivan and Zac to the next level in the fantasy suites; JoJo Fletcher and Rachel Lindsay lend Tayshia their support and advice." WM? We suspect no "windmill" jokes tonight, except on our board! Tuesday, December 22nd "The Bachelorette: Tayshia, The Men Tell All" Season 16 Episode 13, 8 pm on ABC More of this.... "When Tayshia introduces the remaining bachelors to her family, her father voices concerns that she might make a big mistake; on proposal day, Tayshia is overcome with emotion." (That is an error: "The Men Tell All" was last week. Tuesday is the the season finale - traditionally, proposal, acceptance and "After the Finale Rose", with accompanying false suspense creation and manufactured drama to create (nonexistent) doubt in the audience's mind. Even less for ATFR this year, since we already know who the next "bachelor" is. Wednesday, December 23rd Not much to see here. Christmas Eve Eve. I'm sure I will have a ton of stuff to do. If TV happens at all, it will be Christmas something. Thursday, December 24h HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE Wish I could find THESE in my stocking! Another great - and ACTUAL - Christmas movie will air this night. Frank Capra's classic "It's A Wonderful Life" I'm sure everyone will be busy with their own families, and I have an actual copy of this movie on hand that I can watch whenever. But it IS a great one. If anyone was interested in a Christmas day chat through this great old classic, let me know. Where you might here this..... "Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight / Won't you come out tonight / Won't you come out tonight / And dance by the light of the moon." "I wish I had a million dollars... HOT DOG!" "Hark the Herald Angels Sing; Glory to the Newborn King!" George Bailey... the richest guy in town! "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets it's wings." Atta boy, Clarence. Ah... such a wonderful and inspiring movie about one man, in his most desperate moment one Christmas Eve, learning just how valuable and precious his life truly is. One of the greatest classics of all time! Friday, December 25th Merry Christmas Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas day! One more favorite... let's see. How about one by Lauren Daigle. Believe it or not, it was our own Mike C who introduced me to her. She has become a favorite. And if you're an American Idol fan, you know THIS guy: Danny Gokey - who I have always thought bears a slight resemblance to Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr) I'm going to pretend that the Barn Owls on TMS (weren't they the "Snow" Owls, or am I confusing them?) were REALLY Amy Grant and Vince Gill as I listen to this beautiful song written by Amy many years ago (but so appropriate for today). I have so many favorites. I could be doing this all night. Think I'll stop here and save some for another day. These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Merry Christmas and Happy Sunday!
