Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Good morning RTV people, How are you on this fine and cloudy but threatening-to-rain Sunday morning? Ah.. another Super Bowl Sunday. Another opportunity to say goodbye to the NFL taking over the TV on Sunday afternoon. And Monday night. And Thursday Night... heh. Not that this is really an issue here: hubby likes to enjoy stuff like that in his mancave. Normally, I could care less. But this year... the Kansas City Chiefs have once again made it to the Super Bowl with quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way. Patrick might be the best thing that has ever happened to the Chiefs. Great news that the chiefs have another shot at the BIG WIN! The KC girl in me will have to pay more attention this year. This week is also Valentines Week so.... Happy Valentines Day! We have more than one family occasion scheduled so will have to let you know how everything will affect ME. When big things like this come up on workdays, we generally go light on the weeknight plans: do something small and nice on the actual day, but save the big event for the weekend. This week will be the same, with Valentines Day on Tuesday and hubby's birthday on Wednesday. It doesn't necessarily mean I'm out for the night. It just might mean I'm late for the chat. Will keep everyone posted. Anyway, moving on to our TV week! Sunday, February 12th As mentioned.... THE SUPER BOWL LVII: KC Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles As mentioned,, I'm not much of a football fan. But when it's the KC Chiefs up for another Super Bowl win, I'll at least catch some of it because you KNOW it will be on our TV. I was raised in Kansas City so I have bragging rights for my home team. GO CHIEFS!! But before that, if you have Great American Family, you should catch some of THIS. Hallmark ditched "The Kitten Bowl"... those heartless fiends! ... a couple of years ago (#HeartlessFiends). That wonderful program that helped find rescue kittens homes on Super Bowl Sunday. Stepping up was Great American Family, who resurrected the wonderful program and expanded it to include puppies. One more reason to love this new network. "Next Level Chef" Season 2 Premiere, right after the Super Bowl Really enjoyed the first season of this so I'm all in for the second one. The wrinkle: I believe it's regular time will be Thursday at 8 pm, which causes a real conflict for some on this channel. "Australian Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains" Week 3 And yes, we DO have the third week of "Australian Survivor" to work in as well. Now, I never watch the full game but if any of you want to do the Super Bowl (thinking of Tigger here), we can find other nights to do this. Let's go through the rest of the days to see what we can do. Monday, February 13th "The Bachelor: Zach", Season 27 Episode 4, 8 to 10 pm on ABC Zach begins his international journey to find love with a deep-sea dive and all-terrain vehicle adventure on the romantic beaches of the Bahamas. Okay, what's going on here? One lady is made the season villain... and gets cut on that very same episode! WTH? A lead who is opposed to drama? And LISTENS to the women speaking and treats them respectfully? What show are we watching? "Alert: Missing Persons Unit, Shannon" Season 1 Episode 7, 9 pm on Fox Jason and Nikki utilize a twin sister when a missing person case turns into a possible murder investigation; Kemi helps C with his dating life; Keith gets reckless. I keep mentioning this show as an alternative to "The Bachelor"... but since I'm the only one really keeping up with it, I think I should stop. Still, pretty good so far. "Quantum Leap" is taking a break. But never fear: NBC has become the new home of.... "Magnum PI"! We have the season one premiere airing in its place, for anyone who didn't already become a fan of this show when it was on CBS. Might have been a big mistake to let this one go. Nope, that's not Magnum. Believe it or not, it's Higgins! He might look a lot different, but the dogs look the same. Tuesday, February 14th Hope you all have a lovely day! More typical for MY house.... "The Rookie: The Con", Season 5 Episode 15, 8 pm on ABC With help from the FBI, Lopez puts everything on the line to help Elijah Stone take down a gang leader in exchange for her safety; Nolan and Bailey must deal with the secrets and shady dealings his late mother left behind. OH yes, forgot that after an entire episode of Nolan blowing off his MOM, she passed away. I'm sure he's got some real emotional baggage to deal with over this. Word to the wise, folks... don't blow off your mom. EVER. Jeez, this story line is on the Valentines Day episode? "La Brea: The Return", Season 2 Episode 10, 9 pm on NBC A ruthless enemy holds the clearing captive, threatening to kill a beloved survivor if their demands for an unexpected item aren't met; Gavin and Sam lead the rescue attempt, aided by an old friend whose return holds more questions than answers. All in for continuing this one. Bizarre story. But sometimes bizarre is fun. "Will Trent: Should I Go Get My Tin Foil Hat?", Season 1 Episode 6 A double murder leads the unit on a chase to investigate a software firm's activity behind closed doors; Angie does her best to ensure a key witness testifies in her case. I missed the last episode and didn't feel compelled to catch up. I really wanted to like this one. I tried. But I'm over it. Sorry folks. Will keep a chat page going for those who wish to continue. Wednesday, February 15th "The Masked Singer" Season 9 Premiere, 8 pm on Fox Really? Season nine already? It seems like just yesterday when a few people chatted. Now it's just me, all by myself. Honestly, this show is a lot more fun with a chat. We will see if I go the distance this season. **Actually, this would be a good "Australian Survivor" night. I can on demand TMS later if we should decide to work in AS tonight. Thursday, February 16th "Next Level Chef: Party Like A Guac Star", Season 2 Episode 2 8 pm on Fox The chefs each prepare a dish from Mexico; one contestant is eliminated. Mexican food: right up my alley! This show might turn out to be my first priority over "Ghosts". Now, I'm sure I'll keep up with that one too. But I think I'm more interested in watching this one in live time. If anyone is with me, let me know. A chat page could surely be done. New Comedy alert! One that stars JOEL MCHALE and has animals in it. "Animal Control: Weasels and Ostriches", Season 1 Premiere, 9 pm on Fox A group of local animal control workers' lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. Leading the crew is Frank, an opinionated, eccentric animal control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. In his past life as a cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, leaving him cynical and curmudgeonly. Despite his rough exterior, he is blessed with an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Joel McHale.... cynical and curmudgeonly? Does his appearance on THIS show mean that there will not be a season two of "Crime Scene Kitchen" after all? An article in November confirmed there would be. Hmm. Maybe it will be a summer show? I could see me check this one out. Anyone care to join me (Skipping "So Help Me Todd" at nine?) "Ghosts: A Date To Remember", Season 2 Episode 15, 8:30 pm on CBS Sam and Jay help Thorfinn create a perfect first date with Flower; Hetty feels slighted by the ghosts' new housemate, Nigel. Again, chances are very good I'll do this on demand later in favor of "Next Level Chef". We shall see. I'll do a page for both and see who shows up where. As I recall, babyinastraightjacket came out of hiding for the first season of "Chef" so it's possible she will want to chat for season two. Maybe Tigger as well? "So Help Me Todd: Swipe Wright", Season 1 Episode 14, 9 pm on CBS Margaret asks Todd for help on a seemingly straightforward wrongful termination case over a dating app, but with Todd's investigation, they quickly realize it's much more complicated, tensions between Margaret and Gus simmer. Fun little show which always comes up with good wordplay for their episode titles. "Will Trent" should take note: don't do funny titles if the show isn't really a comedy. It confuses me. (Is this a repeat? They did a "dating app" story before and discovered "happily married" sister Allison was actually on this app, starting the story line that she is not as happy as she always says she is. And I know they've used the title "Swipe Wright" before, although Zap2It often makes errors like that). Friday, February 17th
Another good "Australian Survivor" night for whatever episodes we don't make it to before now. These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
