Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Good morning, RTV people. Our boards have been pretty quiet lately: not a lot of TV to chat about, and a lack of enthusiasm for any Survivor rewatches. Seriously, we need some NEW Survivor. I was hoping at least we'd get a new "Survivor Australia" after reading they are doing a new season (in Queensland instead of Fiji). Still don't know just when. This article was on "Inside Survivor" in February and I haven't seen any more recent news. Australian Survivor To Film in Queensland - Inside Survivor Usually new seasons air mid-summer. We will have to see if they are able to keep that schedule. As for US "Survivor", this article from "Monsters and Critics" five days ago mentions that it is currently filming in Fiji and expects to have its premiere on schedule, around late-September when "Big Brother" is ending. Great news! Survivor 41 start date: When will new season of Survivor air on CBS? (monstersandcritics.com) But some things I've read make me wonder if it will be anywhere close to the enjoyable show I know and love. Still, this channel needs some fresh Survivor in order to breathe life back into us. Seriously, we were BUILT on the fun of Survivor! There are some people who only visit this channel during the Survivor seasons: ConorL, MadamP, DNA42, to name a few. We miss you people terribly! Maybe I need to dabble in some Survivor fan fiction? Heh. Or resurrect Jasper for some "Never Gonna Happen" fun. I still would love to do a rewatch. Survivor 33 - Millennials versus Gen X is the season I'm looking at, but the issue is WHEN? Friday had been the traditional time but I've had zero success getting that off the ground - am I beating a dead horse trying? So if anyone is interested in some "Survivor" fun, please let me know. Would love to make something happen. Moving on to this week's TV chat schedule, which is a bit better than last week: Sunday, May 2nd "American Idol: Top 16" Season 19 Episode 16, 8 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "The results of the comeback show; the top nine travel to Walt Disney World for a one-on-one session with a celebrity mentor; the top seven finalists are revealed." Only one episode this week! And "Zoey" is creating a conflict. As is typical for me, if daughter is home I'll probably just watch this till the end since she likes it too. If she is NOT home, I'll switch at 9 pm for Zoey and finish this later. "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: Zoey's Extraordinary Double Date" Season 2 Episode 11, 9 pm on NBC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Zoey attempts to throw all her energy into her relationship, but things get complicated when a double date doesn't go as planned." Surely she and Simon are not double dating with Max and his girl? That seems crazy. "The Rookie: Brave Heart" Season 3 Episode 11, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "After rushing his son to the hospital following his collapse, Nolan is reunited with his ex-wife, and they must come together to help their son; Detective Lopez discovers La Fiera is in the same hospital and wants to find out exactly why." Reading this synopsis is making me realize that we haven't seen Nolan's doctor friend (played by Ali Lartner) all season. I can't recall how that ended. Whimsicali? Do you remember? I recall we agreed the doctor was good for our Nolan - but something happened to break them up. Details...they are escaping me. On my proofread, I seem to recall something about her ex-husband coming back in the picture? I think that was it... now I remember. Anyway, moving on. Monday, May 3rd "The Voice: Knockouts Part 2", Season 20 Episode 11 Awww... filler show. Probably won't even bother to watch. Which is leaving Monday WIDE open. Survivor 33 rewatch anyone? Unless there is a BB CAN in the way. HEY! Just realized I've been forgetting to add Big Brother Canada on this page for WEEKS.... WM? Not even sure when it airs these days. This is the last week of Big Brother Canada! We're down to the final four, about to find out who the final HOH will be. The show airs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, when a two-hour special will crown the winner of Big Brother Canada season nine! Tuesday, May 4th One more repeat week for "This Is Us" - what is up with that, I wonder - but all that means is that those of us who like "Prodigal Son" can watch in live time. "Prodigal Son: You Can Run", Season 2 Episode 11, 9 pm on FOX Episode synopsis reads like this: "After a terrifying incident at Claremont, Malcolm is in a race against time to track down multiple killers; the NYPD realizes someone close to home might be the key to finding them." Multiple killers, one of whom is none other than the Surgeon himself! Malcolm would have to be the key. The Surgeon, for all his terrifying faults, loves his son. This will be an interesting episode. "Big Sky: Nice Animals", Season 1 Episode 14, 9 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Cassie, Jenny, Jerrie and Lindor work to get things back on track when the motel is reduced to rubble; at the ranch, Cheyenne seizes an opportunity to shift the family power dynamic in her favor." I know I haven't been watching this show but is this pic not of the Truck Driver? I thought he was out of the picture. Or am I confused. Explain, WM? That is indeed Ronald the truck driver, cleverly disguised and still very much a part of the season. The only thing changed about him is his appearance: his homicidal ways and obsession with his (now deceased) mother remain as strong as ever! But his story is more of a subplot right now: the violently criminal Kleinsasser who run a town by fear are generating all the action now). And while you are at it explain why I cannot remove the BOLD for any of this paragraph but the word "watching" (No idea. I cannot fix it either). Wednesday, May 5th "The Masked Singer: The Spicy 6" Season 5, Episode 9, 8 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: "The final six sing for the golden mask trophy; guest panelist Chrissy Metz." Chrissy Metz! Awww. Fun! She is jumping ship from NBC to do this? Is this allowed? Plan to watch and chat this on time, right? Thursday, May 5th "Manifest: Precious Cargo" Season 3 Episode 7, 8 pm on NBC, followed by episode 8 "Graveyard Destination Unknown" at 9 pm. Episode synopsis of "Precious Cargo": "Michaela questions Ben's developing relationship with Eureka; a new adversarial group suspicious of Ben takes drastic measures to gain answers; Saanvi proves her worth through a scientific breakthrough; Angelina reaches a breaking point." Episode synopsis of "Destination Unknown": "Michaela and Ben join forces to aid a desperate Flight 828 passenger; Saanvi grapples with a discovery at Eureka and the burden of secrecy that comes with it; Grace and Angelina's bond deepens; a maturing Cal enlists Zeke's help in a personal matter." Another double episode week for "Manifest". Two weeks in a row. Not that I mind, but it does seem like they are trying to get the season over with quickly. This show IS compelling TV though. Friday, May 6th I am open to Survivor 33 on this night - but this is the weekend that my daughter is moving home from college. Right now, it looks like I'll be doing that on Saturday morning. That could change though: I'll just have to let you know. Running through this, I have picked Monday night as a possibility to work in a couple of Survivor 33 episodes. And maybe Friday night. Anyone interested in any of this at all. Let me know. If not, I'll just give up and watch the season alone. But don't be surprised if I STILL make all kind of comments somewhere, just for kicks. We need some Survivor conversation somehow.. somewhere... "Over the rainbow / bluebirds fly..." And monkeys observe from their treetops. Heh. I really miss Survivor as you can tell by my Survivor-themed page today. These are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a great day!
