Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! In an uncharacteristic twist of fate, I will be gone tonight until about 10:00 pm. NOOOOOO! That means no American Idol. No being able to chat through the season finale of Zoey! How did I let this happen? Out of my control. Okay, now that my internal temper tantrum is out of the way, we will move on. Spring is in full swing here in my neck of the woods. Pretty weather. Lots of sun (and a fair amount of rain). Yes, signs of the season popping out all over, in the form of blooming flowers and trees. Lots of people taking strolls outdoors (much pet-walking out there; love having the chance to say hello to the neighborhood doggies) Doing yard work. And if they could, I'm sure everyone would be filling up the malls and stores and restaurants, etc. Soon... very soon, I'm told. AND... lots of high school and college kids preparing for graduations - except that most celebrations will be virtual this year. Such a tragedy for those who have waited forever for this moment. I have one graduating from college this year myself. Next weekend was supposed to be filled with family events for it. Big sigh! Hoping things will return to normal soon. In the meantime, lets take a look at the upcoming TV week. Sunday, May 3rd "American Idol: On With The Show" Homeward Bound Here is what we are in for tonight: "The top 10 are revealed; the judges must choose whether to save a contestant; the judges give the finalists a master class on what it takes to be a superstar; Phillip Phillips performs." A performance by PHILLIP PHILLIPS! I'd be all in to see that. There won't be a live chat (last week's page had a total of three comments on it) but I will enjoy watching the reveal of the top ten, either later tonight or tomorrow. Any chatter I care to do, I'll do on Monday's Daily Chat page. "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist: Zoey's Extraordinary Dad" Season 1 Episode 12 FINALE, 9 pm on NBC Episode synopsis reads like this: After hearing an ominous song, Zoey does everything in her power to stop something bad from happening. This sounds bad. I hope that Peter Gallagher isn't a one-season-only character because I adore the "mom and dad" story. But alas, it is looking as though Dad may not be long with us. Last week's episode strongly suggested this, since they were shopping for a final resting place and all. Plus, introducing a star (with an exceptional voice!) like Bernadette Peters doesn't seem like a one-episode-only event. She might be needed for all next season as mom's grief consultant. I'm prepared to be very sad when this episode ends. So, as mentioned, I will not be on hand to watch this on time but WILL be home before 10 pm. I plan to watch this as soon as I walk in the door, so you guys go ahead and chat on time. I'll add my comments shortly thereafter. Did you all notice that CBS is returning the "Sunday Night Movie" to their lineup? No idea if that is for the whole summer or just temporary. Tonights movie is the eighties classic "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (which daughter and I watched last night on Netflix. Heh. How funny!) Just thought I'd mention. Maybe I can find a list of upcoming titles. If they do any good ones... maybe we can do channel chats for them. "Galaxy Quest"! "The Princess Bride"! "The Rookie: The Q Word" Season 2 Episode 18, 10 pm on ABC Episode synopsis reads like this: "Officers Nolan, Chen and West are squeezed harder than ever before as their training officers evaluate whether they are truly ready for the job; one of the rookie classmates is involved in a shooting." Oh! Oh... forgot about The Rookie! Will I be able to wait on Zoey till 11 pm? Not sure. Sorry Officer Nolan, but Zoey is probably the higher priority for me. I guess we will see tonight. (Is the "Q" word "quit"? An offensive homophobic slur? Or is Quentin Tarantino guest-starring?) Monday, May 4th "The Voice: Road to the Live Shows. The Top 17 perform!" Season 18 Episode 12, 8 to 10 pm on NBC Wait... the first ever winner of a four-way knockout (question: is that a four-chair turn, or something different?) is revealed? Somehow I missed the four way knockout. I suspect I was watching "Prodigal Son" and forgot to go back and catch the last hour. At least from this episode forward, PS is not standing in the way of "The Voice" so I'll be doing a page and actually live chatting through the entire thing. The jury is still out on whether I will take the time to go back and re-watch missed moments. Nothing else on Monday I care to do a page for. I believe we are in that "lull" between spring shows ending and summer shows starting up. Tuesday, May 5th "The Voice" IS having a "result show" at 8 pm. I'm sure I'll watch and use Monday night's page for comments. Nothing else to see here.... Wednesday, May 6th "Survivor 40 Winners At War: The Penultimate Step of the War" Season 40 Episode 13, 8 to 10 pm on CBS The synopsis isn't giving much away. "In a crucial immunity challenge, the remaining seven castaways make their final push toward the $2 million prize". Wow, most generic preview ever written? We have made some speculation that this two-hour episode may have the final "Edge of Extinction" challenge where one returnee will re-enter the game. We can't be sure this is the case, although it's good that the producers aren't spoiling the surprise like you might expect ("Next week on Survivor... one "Edge of Extinction" player is going back in the game! And his name rhymes with "Roston Bob"!) You can bet we will be having a Live Chat for this one. Remember, it's a TWO HOUR episode this week. If our buddy Lydia shows up, can we hit a thousand comments? "The Masked Singer: A Quarter Mask Crisis", "The Quarter Finals; After the Mask: A Quarter Mask Crisis". The Quarter Finals The final five singers compete in the quarterfinals; comic Jeff Dye (who? Seriously...who?) joins the panelists; celebrity guests discuss the night's best moments. The chat for this will be Thursday at 8 pm. Last week's episode confirmed that the Astronaut was indeed country sensation Hunter Hayes - as my daughter KNEW from the first note he sang on performance number one!. She never wavered from this conviction. Not once. He obviously didn't do a very good job of masking his identity (but to be fair, he managed to conceal his five foot four inch stature! Also, his slight claustrophobia, which, according to his interview, should have eliminated him on the spot from participation on this show. Take heed, future wannabe masked singers: NEVER mention your fear of enclosed spaces!) Thursday, May 7th The Masked Singer is the only chat I know of for Thursday.... unless WM and Ali wish to continue Council of Dads. (We do! Second episode improved on the first and showed great potential. Yes, it sometimes feels it's trying too hard to be another "This Is Us" but you must put that aside and judge it on it's own ample qualities!) "Council of Dads: Who Do You Wanna Be?", Season 1 Episode 3, 8 pm on NBC *****Just noticed this show moved to 8 pm. Dang it... interfering with our Masked Singer watch! Shall we move TMS to 9 pm then?***** Show synopsis reads like this: "Larry presents an offer to Robin that will impact the future of the Crab Shack; Luly digs deep into personal experiences to make an impression in her writing group; Evan contemplates a return to school; Oliver makes strides with Theo." I've chosen to not follow this one but if you guys want to continue, we can move TMS to 9 pm. Friday, May 8th Nothing planned for a chat. Anyone care to start one up? A "Survivor" rewatch perhaps? Something international? Let me know. Announcement! CBS pulled a dirty trick on us (those *****ers!) They announced that "The Amazing Race" would start on May 20th - then they reneged on that promise! No idea when it starts now. So frustrating for the fans, CBS. Quit dissing on TAR! That's it for today. I haven't really been looking ahead to upcoming TV schedules. I'll get to it someday. OH.. forgot to do "Britain's Got Talent" last night. Whoops! Will do it sometime soon - tonight or maybe tomorrow. These are MY Rat Musings for the week. If I missed anything or if you have anything to add, please do so in the comments. Have a great day!
