Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And, of course me, Catlover04! Happy Memorial Day Weekend! For all of our Veterans, thank you for your service. For all those dealing with the pain of loss for one who served and lost their life in battle, our thoughts and prayers for comfort and peace are with you on this Memorial Day. For our friends in the US, hope you are all having a very enjoyable long weekend. And now for sad news: we must say goodbye to actor Gavin MacLeod. Some may remember him as seaman “Happy” Haines on “McHale’s Navy". Or maybe as news writer Murray Slaughter on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show". But I knew him best as Captain Merrill Stubing, the lovable captain of "The Love Boat". Just a few minutes after hearing of this sad news, I read another headline. Those of us who were around in the seventies surely remember singer B.J. Thomas. I don't know if I can say he was my FAVORITE, but I have fond memories of singing along to some of his songs as a kid. Of course, this one was first to come to mind for me: Elementary school music class - ah, those were the days. Sad to lose these two familiar faces within twenty-four hours of each other. Rest in peace, Captain Stubing and BJ. Moving on.... Sunday, May 30th Nothing much TV-wise to enjoy this evening. Might take a look at TCM or Hallmark or something else once I get home from our family event. Hmm... will have to think on that. Monday, May 31st "American Ninja Warriors: Qualifiers 1" Season 13, 8 pm on NBC A new generation of ninjas takes on the course at the famed Tacoma Dome; for the first time, competitors as young as 15 compete in round one of qualifiers, where the ninjas face up to six challenging obstacles, including four new ones. I admit, I'm reluctant to start this. While I always enjoy the parts of it I watch, I never stick with it for long. But this summer, there won't be a "So You Think You Can Dance" (very likely, there never will be again). And even "World of Dance" got cancelled. So.... maybe there's time for this show after all. Anyone planning to watch? Tuesday, June 1st "America's Got Talent", Season 13 Premiere, 8 pm on NBC Yeah, I'm going to watch. But I won't look into the back history of anyone so as not to ruin it for myself (I dislike previous competitors from other country's versions of this show). Here's hoping for some fantastic acts - at least one fantastic DOG act would be nice! Looking forward to some great summer fun with this one. Will do a page and hope for the best as far as participants. It DOES have some competition from FOX... "Lego Masters" at 8 pm followed by "Mental Samurai" at 9pm. I didn't watch either show last summer ( and now I guess we see why - because I followed AGT from beginning to end!) Wednesday, June 2nd "Masterchef Legends", Season 18 Premiere, Emeril Lagasse, 8 pm on Fox Finally, the return of a "loved-by-some" show that has not had a new season in quite a while. This will be fun! "Legends" must mean they will be pulling in legendary chefs to help judge this one, starting with Emeril. Very curious to see who will show up from week to week. And also to see who finds their way here for our boards. Tigger has always been an enthusiastic watcher of this show. Maybe even Polly Pocquet will show up - at least the next day, to leave her always entertaining thoughts. There will, for sure, be a live chat of this one. "Crime Scene Kitchen: Meet the Competition", Season 1 Episode 2, 9 pm on Fox A second group of bakers is challenged to scour the kitchen for clues and ingredients to figure out what has been baked. Based on first episode, this one is a keeper for me. **Hey Tigger, if you show up for "Masterchef", you should stick around for this one. I think you would enjoy it as much as we did** (well, two of the three who watched it anyway). Thursday, June 3rd "Manifest: Duty Free", Season 3 Episode 11, 8 pm on NBC Episode synopsis reads like this: The consequences of Ben's actions test his marriage and send Grace reeling; Michaela makes a difficult decision regarding Saanvi's secret; Cal, following his intuition, provides secret refuge to an outcast. I think we have a couple more episodes of this before it is through. Starting tonight at the same time, we have.... "Beat Shazaam", Season 4 Premiere, 8 pm on Fox I enjoy this fun little show, although I don't think had much in the way of chats for it. Once "Manifest" is over, maybe we can try to initiate one. Friday, June 4th "Survivor South Africa" Season... hmm. Not sure. Eight? Or maybe seven? Will find out all the info and update. I do know the first episode airs in South Africa on Thursday, June 3rd. I'm trying to start a Group Watch either Friday or Saturday night. Will do some research to find out how viewers can get access to this country's version (I'll put it out there as soon as I can). Planning to dust off the old "Survivor" blog for this one. For a site that was built upon our love for all things "Survivor", that page has been silent far too long. Starting with this SSA season, hopefully that will all change moving forward. Anyway, these are my Rat Musings for the day. If I missed anything, or if you have something to add, please do so in the comments. Have a fantastic Sunday!
