Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course, me, Catlover04! Good morning, RTV people, Hope you all are well on this fine and somewhat rainy Sunday morning. I'm taking a few days off this week so I'll be around a little bit more than I have been - at least until Thursday. Breathing a sigh of relief just talking about this. I think I've needed a good rest for a while. But come October, I will be taking a trip and will be gone for about a week. That means I might be asking some of you to fill in for me. Not sure what we will be consistently chatting yet come fall - sometimes I don't know until the seasons get underway - so once we know, we will come up with some back up plans for creating pages. Do we still have any "Dancing with The Stars" Fans? If we do, then you probably already know that GMA hosted the reveal of the cast already. Here is a link if anyone is interested in checking it out. Dancing with the Stars 2022: Season 31—New Network, Cast, Premiere, Host, Judges, Dancers, Spoilers, News - Parade: Entertainment, Recipes, Health, Life, Holidays I haven't watched in a couple of seasons, ever since Tyra Banks replaced longtime beloved hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews. I never forgave them for that. It was an unnecessary change that damaged the format of the show. Also, they have moved the show to Disney Plus this year instead of keeping it on network TV - another weird change that will probably hurt its ratings considerably. Not everyone is willing to pay to watch something that has been free to watch for many many years. Just saying... However, they do have a couple of folks in the cast that are interesting. Selma Blair, for one. Wayne Brady. And the most interesting to ME... Trevor Donovan, who has done a ton of cheesy Hallmark movies and has now made the switch from Hallmark to Great American Family. Tempting to watch for him - but not sure I will as Tyra is still hosting. Not sure even the inclusion of Alfonso Ribiera, who I do like a lot and who seems to be destined to follow in Tom Bergeron's footsteps as far as hosting shows goes (he also hosts AFV after the Bergeron run), can change my mind. But thought I'd mention it for those who might still have an interest. The "Heartland" watch is going well. Did I mention last week how much I've fallen in love with this wonderful little show? Fifteen seasons have passed. There will be a sixteenth season... and I am JUST now getting hooked! Last Sunday I mentioned people appearing on this show as guests that are fun. For example, Megan Follows who despite being a little older now, will always Anne Shirley in the fantastic adaptation of the "Anne of Green Gables" books done back in the eighties for me. Great to see her. An actor who was new to me when I saw him in the first "GAC Family" Christmas movie "Much Ado About Christmas" last year was Torrence Coombs. That was what introduced me to GAC Family and was exceptionally done. While I wouldn't have known him by his real name (had to look it up), I knew him immediately as Claude from back then. Fun to see a younger Torrence show up here. Let's see, I should mention Gabriel Hogan, because Ali tells me WM is obsessed with him though he doesn't know why he should be... or something. Including this just to get the story from WM. (Apparently he's a ubiquitous presence on all Canadian television yet somehow I manage to miss his every appearance! Or maybe see him but don't recognize his face? This has been happening for decades now!) That's enough for now. Just know I will be making my way through this lovely little show until I'm fully caught up. Now, let's move on to our TV week: Sunday, September 11th "Big Brother: Season 24, Episode 28", 8:30 pm on CBS How will the game change now that presumed shoo-in winner Michael was eliminated in Thursday night's double eviction? Victory is truly up for grabs now; several people can make a case for why they should win - even players we have a great dislike of. Let's see how it starts unfolding tonight! "Monarch: Stop At Nothing" Premiere, 8 pm and then again at 9 pm on Fox Episode synopsis reads like this: When dangerous truths bubble to the surface threatening the Roman family's reign as country royalty, Nicky Roman -- the heir to the crown -- will stop at nothing to protect her legacy. Well, we have one new drama starting tonight. Susan Sarandon starring in another country music royalty show. I'm a little confused whether the same episode is airing twice (at 8 pm and at 9 pm) or if it's a two-hour episode. I'm kind of on the fence about watching, but giving it a mention since it's a new fall network show. But of course, 8 pm is.... "Chesapeake Shores: L-O-V-E", Season 6 Episode 5, 8 pm on Hallmark Still enjoying this lovely show. It will occupy my eight o'clock viewing. Monday, September 12th "The Bachelorette", Season 19 Episode 9, 8 pm on ABC No new show tonight - Monday Night Football is taking over ABC tonight. Football season is underway, interfering with regular network TV for all of us. Heh. 74th Annual Emmy Awards, 8 pm on NBC Well, you ALL know how I feel about these kinds of events: no interest whatsoever. But I know some of you will want to watch so I'll give this a mention. I'll probably be continuing my "Heartland" watch until.... "Snake In the Grass: Costa Rica Karen!" Season 1, Episode 7, 11 pm on USA A survivalist from "Naked and Afraid" clashes with the team as clues to the Snake's identity mount. This is turning out to be a fun little show - anyone actually watching but me? Last week I ended up watching it next day. If they do any more seasons, can I please suggest putting it on NBC and at 9 pm or something? You'd get more people interested in watching. Tuesday, September 13th "The Bachelorette", Season 19 Episode 11, 8 pm on ABC One Bachelorette essentially announced her choice last week (although problematic high school photos of him have since begun appearing!) while the other still has her three to select from. Will everything be resolved for next week's finale? "The Amazing Race Canada" Season 8 Episode 8, is on at 9 pm for our Canadians. Is this still a thing? I noticed last week that WM had no edits (yes, I mentioned that we'd be watching "The Bachelorette" live and would have to select another night to rewatch. Ditto for this week....) Also, AGT is finishing tonight. Wonder if I will care to watch. I'm so far behind... Wednesday, September 14th "Masterchef: Final Finale Part Two with Guest Christina Tosi", Season 20, Episode 20, 8 pm on Fox The three remaining chefs rush against the clock to complete their final entree and whip up a gourmet dessert with the help of former judge Christina Tosi; a new champion is crowned. Our final three contestants are Christian, Dara and Michael. Must say, I have a soft spot for Dara, the youngest in the competition and a former participant in "Masterchef Junior". I think she has represented herself exceptionally well this season. But I do like both Christian and Michael, so really I can't lose here. I'd be okay with any winner, but rooting for Dara the most. "Big Brother" Season 24 Episode 26, 8 pm on CBS Veto night can always change who is on the block..... "The Challenge USA: Home of the Brave", Season 1 Episode 10 Finale, 9:00 pm on CBS Only one more to go! Tonight is the finale episode. Now that we are there, I can say I have enjoyed this version but will probably not be watching on MTV. Keep it watered down for me please. For the most part, it has been a fun watch. A Tyson victory has been telegraphed since the season began; is that to surprise us with an upset victory? "Resident Alien: Cat and Mouse", Season 2 Episode 14, 10 pm on Syfy Harry goes head-to-head with one of his biggest enemies. I'll try to stay awake tonight. For some reason, I fell asleep last week. But I did watch the complete show next day. Weird ending. Will be fun to see where this one goes. Thursday, September 15th "Big Brother" Season 24 Episode 27, 9 to 11 pm on CBS No twists expected, so we'll be down to the final five after tonight's eviction. As often happens, the jury house footage becomes much more interesting than the game itself! Friday, September 16th Not finding anything else to ramble on about and running out of time. Hope you all have a great day.
These are my rat musings for the day. If anyone has anything to add, please do so in the comments.
