Hello RTV Fanatics Unite fans! From Ricky the Rat, Rufus the Rat Terrier, And of course me, Catlover04! Hello RTV people, How are on you this fine but very rainy Sunday morning? It's supposed to pour all day - for me, an excuse to stay indoors. I don't mind weather like this. News on the upcoming reality TV for the fall... We're not too far away from the start of "Survivor 45". The website "Inside Survivor" has an article for "super fans" who have seen every season and miss early "Survivor": this year will remind you of "old school" (there's a link to the article, if anyone is interested). I think it was a conversation with Tyson A and a podcast producer. Didn't know Tyson HAD a podcast - but these days everyone has a podcast so I shouldn't be surprised. Survivor Producer Says 90-Minute Episodes Will 'Remind Fans of Older Seasons' - Inside Survivor But, Probst? It will only feel like old school Survivor to me if you restore the use of the phrase "Come on in, GUYS" and admit you were being an idiot when you dropped that phrase for "political correctness" reasons. That being said, this article has given me a reason to hope for a pretty great season. Or maybe I'm just ready for some NEW "Survivor" on my TV. Either way, I will spend some time looking for some good Dalton Ross EW teaser articles to post on the Survivor blog. My countdown timer tells me it's only ten days away. Also, a new "Australian Survivor" should be coming in January. Always look forward to this, but don't have a lot of details yet: only that the theme which is "Titans vs. Rebels". Hmm..... In other RTV news, "Traitors Australia Season Two" and "Traitors New Zealand Season One" have both finished. I was surprised to find I enjoyed New Zealand more of the two. Did anyone else watch either? Anyone at all? No word on when other versions of the series will get airtime. I checked UK and US; neither has confirmed start dates. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the US makes it exclusive to Peacock. It really should be a network show. With the ongoing writers strike, maybe they will change their minds. But they would first have to air season one for RTV fans who do not have Peacock. I recall last year at this time, there was a reboot of "The Mole" on Netflix. I've been trying to find news of season two. That HAS been given a go-ahead but no word on when. Stay tuned, I guess. And finally, "The Amazing Race 35" is also to air soon. This is always a fun show. In October, there will be a new "Amazing Race Australia" season. It will be a "celebrity" version (why?) and will have in its cast none other than King George and his sister. All "Australian Survivor" fans know who King George is (a self-appointed "king" who has never won a season). I might have to watch this one. That's all I've got. Time to move onto our TV week. Sunday, September 17th "The Chosen: I Saw You" Season 2 Episode 2, 8 pm to 9:30 pm on the CW A mysterious visitor seeks to meet Jesus, but the disciples are hesitant; tension builds between Simon and Matthew; as the group heads to a new city, word arrives that Jesus' fame is growing. I only have to read the episode title to know what the plot is (I've seen these so many times). We will be introduced to Philip and Nathaniel (#TeamComeAndSeeForYourself [AmazingRaceHumour]). Jesus to Nathaniel: "I saw you under the fig tree". "Yellowstone" Season 1 Premiere on network TV, CBS at 8:30 pm. John Dutton, patriarch of a Montana ranching family and owner of the largest ranch in the U.S., fights to defend his land and his family from the modern-day forces that threaten his way of life. If you were like me - never watched a single episode of "Yellowstone" and wondered if you were missing something huge - now is your chance to find out. However, "Big Brother" fans who do not want their show postponed till 10:30 tonight might find this an annoyance. "Big Brother", Season 25, Episode 20, 8 pm on CBS Seriously? 10:30 to 11:30 for what is traditionally the least important episode of the week (admittedly, we will find out who the new HOH is tonight, an especially important revelation this time)! Thank heavens this is just a one-time only event. "When Calls the Heart: What IS and What Should Never Be", Season 10 Episode 8, 9 pm on Hallmark. Elizabeth encourages Gowen to seek forgiveness from Rosaleen to heal old wounds; Montague continues to raise suspicion. So weird: when this series first began, Gowen was the biggest villain with the hardest of hearts. Now he's a teddy bear! Talk about a character arc change for the better. Monday, September 18th Still wide open. Plenty of stuff to catch up on though. For me: so many rom-coms, so little time! Tuesday, September 19th A quick glance at last week's page tells me "The Amazing Race Canada" is done... Nope. That was an error on our part. Tonight is the season finale. We are down to the final three teams: a heroic duo who survived a recent Canadian tragedy that left one member handicapped; a madly-in-love duo who we (okay, maybe just me) are praying will not surprise with a proposal on the final mat; and one duo (who, incredibly, are just friends and NOT twin brothers!) who might just be peaking at the right time. Prepare for challenges in scenic Nova Scotia! Seriously, network TV is giving us so little to chat about these days. Wednesday, September 20th "Big Brother", Season 25, Episode 21, 8 pm on CBS Will the two people on the block be changed? Is there a backdoor being planned? That will be discussed and planned and cancelled and re-planned several dozen times during the day. By people who sit around in their bathrobes until five o'clock in the afternoon! "Masterchef United Tastes of America: Finale Parts 1 and 2" Season 21, Episode 15 and 16 at 8 pm on Fox The final three home cooks take on their last challenge, with each chef whipping up a spectacular three-course meal; the judges crown the next champion. The finale is tonight, so it will be finished in time for "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" to start next week. Will Jennifer - the one most of us thought should have been cut early but for some reason kept skating by - win? And why is it I can't even recall who is in the top three with her? Seriously, I'm drawing a blank #BrainFart. Oh well, moving on.... Thursday, September 21st "Big Brother", Season 25, Episode 22, 9 pm on CBS Double eviction night! Two HOH comps, two veto comps, two people walking out the door. Warning, players: this will be the best chance you'll get to evict Jared, because mom Cirie will not be able to fall on her sword to let him win (we all know she will do that if it's her only option). People! Did you put your lives on hold and work so hard just to come in third? Because Cirie and Jared are certainly planning that for all of you! Is anyone watching "The Buddy Games"? Because if NOT.... "Heartland: Head Over Heels", Season 16 Episode 11, Streaming exclusively on UpTV in the US Amy agrees to let Logan take the lead with a new client horse (uh, does this mean the "horse" belonging to a "new client", or the "new client" is a horse?) A furious Tim goes after the person responsible for Jack's accident (a furious Tim is a dangerous Tim! At least it is on "The Rookie"). Lou struggles to reconnect with Katie (after, you know, reading her private diary just to be nosy!) Remember WMisms? The above paragraph might be the last one we got to see. Hee hee. Special note to Ali: UpTV is starting the season sixteen episodes TONIGHT on the app, so episode eleven is finally available to stream. New ones will be on Thursdays, just like before. If you want to work it in at 9 pm, I'm game. If you would rather wait until Friday, I'm okay with that too. Just let me know. "The Challenge USA: A Less Perfect Union" Season 2 Episode 10, 10 pm on CBS WM? Sorry, I haven't watched this for a few weeks now. All I know is that Sea Bass and Challenge winner and physical powerhouse Tori might just be the oddest couple in reality TV history. And yes, I'm including all the woefully mismatched pairs we've seen on "The Bachelor"! Friday, September 22nd Wide open, but I'm sure there is a missed "rom com" I could catch up with. Yesterday, I did a page dedicated to seasonal rom coms. If you are one who just can't get enough of them, I'll keep these pages up-to-date all Christmas season.
