Hello RTV people, Welcome to our first official "Holiday Page" here on the new Weebly site. Traditionally, this page has been the place to share holiday fun: favorite holiday clips from a TV show or movie; favorite song; favorite story from your childhood; favorite holiday recipe. Christmas is MY favorite time of year. But it CAN be a bit stressful if you forget to remember the reason why we celebrate - which is so easy to do in the hustle and bustle of the season. So I love the holiday shows that remind me of these reasons. For example: Charlie Brown, whose sweet character Linus goes out of his way to remind us what Christmas is all about. One of my all time favorite Christmas Songs is "Mary Did You Know". Did YOU know it was written in 1984 (music written in 1991 by Buddy Green) by this man, Mark Lowry (a member of the Gaither Vocal Band, a Christian music group). But since then, the song has been covered a million times by people from all genres. From the original recording of Michael English in 1991 to Clay Aiken to Kenny Rogers to Cee Lo Green to "American Idol" alums David Archeletta and Danny Gokey ..... ...to most recently, Pentatonix, who turns everything they do to gold. Such beautiful harmonies. Why do I love this song so much? Because it beautifully expresses the reason why we take the time every year to remember and to celebrate Christmas. A celebration of the birth of Jesus "who is and was and is to come" (Revelation 1:4). Thank you Mark Lowry for the gift of this wonderful song that has become a Christmas season favorite across all genres of music. Moving on to something more humorous... I cannot get through one of these pages without wanting to remind you all of Straight No Chaser's version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". and their Christmas Can Can.... These guys are hilarious. Now it's YOUR turn! If you have any Holiday wishes you'd like to share, this is the place to do it! Can't wait to see what you all come up with. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish friends. Hope you all have a wonderful and joyous Holiday season!
