Come on in, Guys! Dare we hope to have a few more participants tonight? I guess we will see. I'm anticipating I might be running a bit late but 8:30 should be do-able. Who wants to chat Survivor 29 at 8:30 pm ish?

Come On In, GUYS! After a grueling, accelerated 26-day season filled with new twists and advantages, castaways skillfully navigate their way to the final three, with one crowned the Sole Survivor; Jeff Probst hosts the after show.
We all know how I feel about the drop from 39 to 26 days so I guess I don't need to rehash THAT. I'll just say I wish I was more enthusiastic for this finale. Here's hoping I'll be more excited for next season, when we finally get longer episodes after years of begging and pleading. Even if it took a writers' strike to make it happen. I would have LOVED longer episodes during, say the "Winners at War" season. Or maybe "Cagayan" , one of my absolute faves (the more Spencer the better, right? :) We will see how I feel come fall. As for tonight... since Caroline escaped elimination last week, I am still feeling the season could be hers. And I wouldn't mind that at all. As quirky as she is, there is no denying she is also quite astute and would be a worthy Sole Survivor. We shall see. Who wants to Live Chat the Season Finale of Survivor at 8 pm? Come on in, GUYS! Hey WM, wanted to ask you this the other night: if you've watched through this season four times, where did you get the links THEN? Are they still on Dailymotion?
Anyway, hoping to continue our rewatch if WM can find links and and if Ali can ditch her board meeting, heh. We seem to be having trouble getting everyone available at the same time. Who wants to re-watch Survivor 29 at 8 pm ish. Come on in, GUYS! Castaways must get the ball rolling in the right direction at the reward challenge to win a relaxing evening at the sanctuary; with only six castaways left, it is an emotional struggle to decide which castaway will be going home.
I would never have believed I'd ever think this when the season first started, but... are we in for a Caroline win? I hear this is RobC's prediction (Dalton Ross leans more and more towards this every week too). Has the edit has been pointing us this way all season? Who knows? We could all be wrong. WM? Any thoughts? (Maybe the elimination of Danny - this season's Xander / Rick Devens obsession you sometimes get that blinds you to the possibility of any other winner - will allow you to watch the finish with a fresh perspective?) **Excuse me, WM, but... never have I once suggested I thought Danny was the one who should win. I like Danny. I think he is the ONE player in this cast with an old school heart trapped in the wrong season. But never did I suggest he should win. There was NO obsession with Xander. I just felt, plain and simple, that he should have won his season based on the season and the edit I watched. The person who got the win got no edit to prove why she deserved it. Editor's fault? Maybe? I felt the same way about Aubry that season SHE should have won. No one is obligated to agree with me though. As far as Devins go... that was far and away the shows worst season with the most undeserving winner and underwhelming end. Devins was the entertainment of the season, and I was sad when his run was over; I don't know anyone who wasn't flat out frustrated over the winner of the Edge of Extinction season, Chris Underwood. I almost think ANYONE would have been a better winner. Nothing against Chris. It's just a person shouldn't be the first one voted out, then brought back in at the last minute to win the game. Blame the producers for their stupid "edge of extinction" twist or blame the jury for rewarding him the win over whoever else was at the end with him that they were bitter against? I don't remember much about the season to remember if Devins was the CLEAR winner; but he would have been a more satisfying winner then the one we got. Anyway, back to current season .... I do feel like Carline is FAR more astute than most were giving her credit for since the beginning. Her superpower is that she is deeply underestimated, and she has used that to her advantage. I guess we will see soon enough. Who wants to Live Chat Survivor at pm? Hello Survivor fans, ,
So, we've made it through the first three episodes. The last one was the one I was dreading most: now it's over and I can enjoy the rest of the rewatch. Planning to pick up where we left off at episode 4 at close to 8 pm as I can manage. Hopefully we can work at least two episodes in. Hope you've caught up, WM (This is the fourth time I've rewatched SJDS. "Catching up" is not required!) This is how serious I am: I got up a lot earlier than normal this morning just so I could arrive at work ahead of schedule. I've already "wordled" and "quordled" and am almost ready to go. The earlier I get there, the earlier I'll be done with my day and can come home to Survivor fun! Okay, that's a bit misleading. While I AM getting to work early this morning, the reason has nothing to do with our Survivor 29 rewatch, and everything to do with a co-worker taking the day off. That means I need extra time to start my day properly. But I will continue to claim that my motivation is a love for "Survivor" and my appreciation for the greatness of Keith Nale in particular. Yep, THAT'S what had me tumbling out of bed earlier than normal this morning! Who wants to re-watch "Survivor 29" tonight 8 pm ish? Come on in, GUYS! Castaways must keep their heads above water in the immunity challenge (another repeat of last year's, where the players were waterboarded for nearly a week until the tide in the Pacific ocean stopped completely? And Probst mentioned that every thirty seconds for the rest of the episode?) to be guaranteed a spot in the final six; it's a mad dash before tribal council as castaways must decide who to target.
This season has flown by. How did we get to end game so fast? Seems like the season just started. Btw, not a fan of this "waterboarding" challenge, if that is what it is. Who wants to live chat "Survivor" at 8 pm? Hello Survivor fans, It's always fun to relive older seasons (in fact, my favorites are even older than THIS one). But we are watching this to honor a fan favorite player who recently passed away, Keith Nale. If you want to join us, you're welcome; we've only watched the first episode so it will be easy to catch up. The season is easily available in the US via Paramount Plus and Hulu both. Outside the US, you might have to look a little bit harder.
Planning to do episode 2 on Friday, as close to 8 pm as possible. (Oh, who am I kidding? It will at least be 8:30 for me unless some miracle happens, heh). Amazing how many Season 29 cast members I had zero recollection of; I'm sure it's because they went out early or something. I suppose we'll find out. Who wants to continue our re-watch of Season 29 Survivor at 8 pm ish... (8:30, more like). :-}}. Good morning, Castaways must land a win at the reward challenge to earn a night at the sanctuary and letters from home; castaways need to snake their way toward a win in the immunity challenge.
Aww. The "Letters from home" episode. Seems like the season just started; how did we get HERE already? btw, I checked the "Inside Survivor" site for any new news about internationals - but sadly, found nothing to report. Dang it, I was hoping for news about an upcoming "Survivor South Africa" (though we never actually watched the last season of that). Perhaps we should try this summer, since we seem to be lacking in good TV? Who wants to Live Chat "Survivor" at 8 pm? |
