Hello Australian Survivor fans, Finale chat night! Hoping to be ready by 8 pm but realistically it might be 8:30 pm. Can't wait to see the end of this thing, even though we all know who is going to win. Who wants to group watch the finale of "Australian Survivor All Stars"?

Hello Aussie Australia fans, Just a few more episodes left! Who will win the game? Who will be the runner up? Wouldn't it be heartbreaking if one of the players comes in second TWICE? And lost by only one vote - FOR THE SECOND TIME? Brace yourself... it's sure to be a fun ride! The Aussies always make sure of that. Who wants to live chat "Australian Survivor All-Stars" episode 22 at 9 pm? "Survivor 40 Winners At War: We're In The Majors" a/k/a "A Portly Chap" Season 40 Episode 7 Recap3/25/2020 Lame A/K/A... sorry. For some reason, I just could not come up with a good quote. WM... any thoughts? You can come up with a more clever A/K/A if you want (as you command!) (Also considered "Hope this peanut butter can stick us together" [too many words] and Sandra's "I screwed myself" [just to throw a bone to the many Sandra non-fans] but finally went with old stand-by Tyson) In a "new school" versus "old school" winners season... so far the new schoolers seem to have it. Sitting at the Edge of Extinction are ALL the old school players but one ... Yul. We had such high hopes for Yul, our last-standing old school player. But now, Kim is the earliest winner still left in the game... I think? WM? (It's actually Sophie, who won season 23; Kim won season 24; Denise was next at season 25) So how did this happen? We start our episode at The Edge of Extinction, where Parvati has just arrived. "Voted out before merge... SO LAME!" she says. "I've never done that before." First time for everything, Parv. But... all is not lost. She is happy to be there with some of her "old school" mates such as Ethan, Rob and Amber - and to her utmost joy.... Sandra! Sandra comes in saying "I screwed myself", then explained what happened with Denise. Godfather Rob jumps in to give her fatherly advice/royal sh*t: "Why not just figure it out for yourself instead of giving her all that power?" "So unlike you." we hear from Amber. Sandra explains that she really liked Denise, wanted to give her some help - and it bit her in the butt. Sandra hears how sparse the food is and how hard they have to work for one shot at a challenge to get back in the game and decides "Nope, not for me". She is going to raise her flag and leave. (Yes, that will tarnish her image. But it was the right decision for HER. She was right; she no longer had a shot in the world at winning the game. Give her credit for being self-aware enough to recognize that). Right decision or wrong decision? For her, I think I'm not surprised or disappointed. As she leaves, we hear her say "I'm still the queen and I'll always be the queen." Blah blah blah... ...unless one of the women wins the game and ties your record... right, Sandra? Moving on... Sele Tribe Opens at Yul, frustrated with Wendell over his last tribal council performance. Yul confronts him about his proposal to Parveti: "What were you thinking? Do you have sh*t for brains?" Wendell says nothing to make Yul feel better. Later, we hear Wendell apologize to Michele for making her uncomfortable at tribal council. But then it appears he was mainly baiting her, just so he could reem her about trying to tell him how to handle himself at tribal. Sidenote: Wendell... you used to be such a nice guy! What happened? Yul and Michelle compare notes about their interaction with Wendell. Michelle then admits that she has basically had it with him and does not wish to move forward in the game with her ex. ...back at the Edge, where all the fun people are: Weird music. Strange whispering in the background (shades of "LOST"... that's what it made ME think of anyway). Setting the tone for what is to come next. Ethan talking about the struggles of the Edge: "Why am I here? Where is the hope? Days are long. Nights are longer". A quiet conversation with Parvati. She offers him a bit of encouragement. Really nice to see this. Those of you who aren't fans of Parv... this was a good moment. Ethan brings back the box to be opened. Each one gets a scroll. From Tyson: "We each get our own clue: scattered on top of the mountain there are four fire tokens. No limit on how many each of you can find." Game on. Rob: "I took off and just sprinted. I've been sprinting these mountains for days and know if I get there first I have an edge. Tyson: "Boston Rob took off in a sprint. But me knowing he's a 'portly chap' means I have time to make up ground when I need to. So I sprint to the part I know the best and immediately find a fire token because I'm amazing." The race appears to be over when they are all standing around comparing notes. Tyson shows the one HE found to everyone. They all look at it, ask where it was found. Everyone swears they had not found anything. And then the truth comes out - at least to us, the audience. Boston Rob is speaking. He followed his trail; found one. Found two with Ethan right there. Heads to a big lookout.. finds the third. And the rest of them are none the wiser (except of course Amber, who I am sure he tells when they have a moment alone) Boston Rob... great job. Dakal Tribe... ...where Tony is showing off his running skills to the rest of his tribe. Why? Because...Tony. But we learn in a confessional that he is still a pretty astute player. "Denise did me a big favor last night. I'm close with Jeremy. I'm close with Kim. And Denise, she used two idols to take out a big target - and set the target on herself. I'm feeling pretty good right now." (It's never dangerous to say that on Survivor, Tony. Never.) Tony to his tribe, giving credit to Denise: "She dethroned the queen with her own bullet." Denise is a bit uncomfortable with that. But Tony may not be quite right in his thinking. Jeremy, as much as he likes Tony, considers him a bigger target than Denise. Kim is feeling the same. Tony should beware. Seems the alliance of Denise, Kim and Jeremy are committed to moving forward into the merge sticking together. Yara Camp... ...where they are all enjoying some leftover peanut butter. From Sophie: "For the first time ever, I can say we have leftovers on Survivor and I'm hoping this peanut butter can really stick us together." Clever girl! Adam and Ben, discussing where the idol could be. Ben thinks Adam has it and asks him directly. Adam denies. Ben and Adam go and look. Of course, we know that Sophie already has the idol. Sarah knows it. And Adam surmises from watching Sarah and Ben look that someone is not telling the truth. "I can tell they are only pretending to be looking!" he says. Adam tells Sophie that he believes Sarah has the idol. Funny. Sarah offers to dump all her crap out of her bag to prove she doesn't. "Not necessary" he tells her. Ben swears if any of them had it, they would say so. "Sure about that, Ben?" Sophie wants to stop the idol talk because it is dividing them. Adam is annoyed that suddenly HE is the one on the defensive and now has to do damage control when THEY are the ones lying. What a goofy bunch. Immunity Challenge The challenge today is carry a large saucer to a water tower, fill it with water and race it to a well. Do that as many times as it takes to fill the well. Once it fills it will release some puzzle pieces. First to finish the puzzle wins. (You all know how I hate challenge details.) Michelle takes a tumble but comes up laughing. We find out Nick has some experience with this one...and he failed miserably. Carrying a huge saucer without spilling proves to be difficult. Yara gets their well filled first. The saucer they used for water then becomes their puzzle board. Sophie and Ben work the puzzle and do an outstanding job, as Sarah always does on puzzles. They get the first place immunity win. Dekal and Sele are very, very close! It is Michelle and Wendell working for Sele; Jeremy and Denise for Dekal. It was so close that either team could have won - but in the end, Dekal pulled off the win. Sele will be heading to tribal council tonight. Yul walks away convinced that Wendell is the one. "Less trash talking and more focus. He's dug his own grave". Was There A Reward Challenge We Didn't See? I believe there WAS. These pics were pulled off the CBS Press Express site and I do not recall this challenge. I feel deprived. (Yes, there was. Dalton mentions in his recap that one was played, Yara won, but it wasn't televised. Too boring, perhaps? Maybe it was a choice between this or the "Edge of Extinction" token search, and Tyson was just too damn funny to omit that?) Anyway, moving on.... Sele Camp The scramble begins to decide who will be the next one out of the game. For most of the episode, the foreshadowing pointed to Wendell. I mean, he IS being a bit of a jerk. Nick is very frustrated with Wendell. All the trash talk, lack of focus. Nick blames Wendell for the loss; Yul agrees. "Vote Wendell but tell him it's Michelle." Wendell and Michelle talk. Despite their history, he feels the closest to her, maybe because he's never had sex with any other tribemates. She agrees to vote Yul with him. Yul believes he has Michelle and Nick both. But he wants to finagle Wendell's fire token from him, assuming that fire tokens have some kind of value after merge. He wants Michelle to tell Wendell she is voting for Yul. That way when Wendell is voted out maybe he'll give his token to her. He would then like her to give one up to him - as payment for coming up with such a brilliant plan? Is that it? I'm not sure. I believe Yul is overthinking. Nick, after listening to Yul talk, decides that he is dangerous. He and Michelle talk privately. Obvious they are now feeling that Yul is more dangerous than Wendell (but still less of a butth0le) and maybe should be the target. Tribal Council... ...and of course, Probst has to point out to Nick that he has once again failed on this difficult challenge ("I'm amazed you didn't wear a t-shirt that says "Miserable Loser" on it tonight, Nick!") Then we hear Yul destroy his game by saying WAAYYY too much. I mean, his game was already over - the plan was already set against him. But he sure didn't need to spill everything he was thinking about fire tokens and strategy and lying to get his way and all. Wasn't very smart, Yul. Sometimes the smartest thing is not showing you ARE smart. From Wendell: "It wasn't the best of days... " Yul: "The game has evolved and is much more complex. I've had to lie more"... and there is where it went south for him. Too much, Yul. Too much! Put a sock in it! More tension between Wendell and Michelle. It's a thing this season. Nick: "We are so tight, if I got sent to the E of E I'd still be with this four." Wendell says: "Nope. Not me." Yul: "I'll be bitter if you blindside me tonight, you miserable **ckers, but..." Vote happens. No idol is played. Yul, Wendell, Yul, Yul... Sadly, it is our final "old school" player sent to the Edge of Extinction. He bequeaths his fire tokens: one to Sophie, and one to Sarah. And off he goes to join the other old schoolers.
If it was "old school" versus "new school" as a theme... I'd say the new school players win the day. That's how I started my recap, and that's how I'm going to end it. Next week...MERGE! Nothing in the previews about any E Of E players coming back, but maybe that's just to surprise us? Hello Survivor fans, Episode synopsis reads like this: "Some winners sprint their way to an opportunity to gain an edge over the other castaways; one tribe employs a different strategy in a rigorous immunity challenge". Never did see a preview for this week so... here it is! Didn't see anything spoilery in there - in fact, it doesn't give much info at all. The MOST interesting thing there was Wendell and Michelle having a quick chat. That Wendell seems to be initiating. Hmmm.... Wendell wants to align with her now? Wendell wants to "make her an offer she can't refuse" (Wendell wants to take over the role of season "Godfather" now that Boston Rob is at the Edge of Extinction)? Wendell feeling some pressure since he's been in the hot seat so much? Wendell doesn't like being made to look like a jerk at tribal council, and wants to find some support from his ex-love? Wendell, Wendell, Wendell... We shall have to wait until tonight to find out. AND... I do not work today so I should be able to play on time. Also don't work tomorrow (I hope) so should be around to chat all day. So, who wants to live chat "Survivor" at 8 pm? What an EPIC episode! Before we get into it, I must ask... what is up with these weird pics of Danni Boatwright? More E of E pics... and the best one of Danni is this? I mean, everyone else looks reasonably happy. You've got BR and Ambuh back together! Natalie still all smiles. Tyson, Ethan and BR enjoying some laughs together. And then there is Danni. Looking like she is trying to conjure up a curse on someone. Quick! For the second week in a row... someone caption Danni's facial expression in this pic! Anyway... on to this epic episode of Survivor. Terrific game play from Denise. Major blunder from Queen Sandra who should have known better. Could we compare Sandra secretly handing her idol over to Denise for fire tokens (trusting that Denise was truly in her pocket and wouldn't use it against her) to say, JT handing over an idol to Russell Hantz as protection from that dangerous "all women" alliance? On a scale of dumb moves... No, JT still wins. But it DOES surprise me to see Sandra make such an error in judgment. So what events led up to this epic ending of the episode? #Alliteration Yara Camp Everyone excited to be in a camp without having to live under the heavy thumb of Boston Rob. Well... except Adam, who is realizing that he might be at the bottom now without the BR Shield. Edge of Extinction... ...where Tyson comes up with a log and a note. Something about "turning over stones". But honestly, we were just watching the Tyson show, capped by this truly hilarious, classic Tyson phrase. Spotting Boston Rob just as he was claiming his new-found idol... ..."I decided to pretend to tinkle before putting the package in my man panties!" (Well, that might not be verbatim but it was close). The package he was referring to was the advantage he found on an over-turned stone - an "Idol Nullifier. He chooses to sell it to Parvati. She takes the bait and the fire tokens are his. And with his newly acquired fire tokens, Tyson purchases a very large jar of peanut butter. "Sneaking peanut butter every day will allow me to do something sneaky and hilarious, while at the same time giving me the necessary protein I needs to do well in the game. Thanks, Parvati!" Not always a fan of Tyson but this was an entertaining segment for him complete with funky background music. I propose that everytime Tyson is doing something "sneaky and hilarious", his fun "theme song" music must play! Immunity Challenge Swim out to boat. Retrieve three bags of rice. Push them through a hole and back to shore. Find three balls that will be used to complete a maze game. Sandra takes a spot on the "Sandra Sit Out Bench". Michelle joins her. And the challenge is on: Details, details... WM help with the details (All you need to remember is that Ben was stabbing the rice bag with his machete with a ferociousness that rivaled the Surgeon committing his serial murders on "Prodigal Son"). Sele and Yara get to the puzzle maze first. I have such trouble with challenge details (Also, Wendell made a very cocky error. Just about to win the game for his tribe, he taunts the host "Watch this, Jeff!" - then proceeds to drop his ball off the board, costing them a victory. Probst was NOT about to let him forget that!) Let's see if I can just post a few pics.. hmm.... In the end, it is green tribe YARA who wins immunity. The twist for this episode is that only one tribe wins immunity. The other two will face tribal council (privately - no "advantage" for the winning team to observe the losers' TC) and we will lose two people this episode. Oh.. and the measly reward is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Yawn. Sele Tribe Paravati and Michelle discuss what to do - but honestly, Michelle sees the writing on the wall (or should I say in the sand) for Parvati. The three guys - Wendell, Nick and Yul - are pretty tight. No breaking THEM up! Michelle pitches to Wendell that she WILL agree to Parvati - but that she would write his name down just so that she doesn't have to cote out Parv's. Also, her reward for turning on her friend will be Wendell's fire token. Well, Wendell is not having it, not for a minute. Very obvious there is some bad blood here. Michelle feels that she was the one who got burned in that relationship. Wendell seems quite hostile to her. "I'm not playing for fire tokens!" he boldly says. Then a few minutes later, Wendell tries a new tact with Parvati. It falls flat: they basically saw right through each other. But get this: HIS pitch to HER was "Give me a name to vote for and I will - but only if you give me your fire tokens." Well then... stole the idea right out from under Michelle! Parvati sees this as an opportunity to turn the tribe against Wendell. She tells Nick all about this conversation, putting some doubt in HIS head about Wendell. Michelle works on Yul, trying to sow seeds of doubt against Wendell with him. Dakal Camp... ...in which we find that Tony has not forgotten about his old "spy shack". The shack (or bunker, as he now calls it) comes into play again. They all see that he is missing, but have no idea where he has gone. We can only assume that he heard their conversation. Jeremy and Sandra speak the first conversation we hear as she declares that they will indeed stick with the old Dakal, meaning it will be either Jeremy or Denise as the target. Jeremy reminds us in a confessional that he DOES have an advantage that will allow him to leave TC at any point to save himself, but if he uses it he will not have a vote. Denise, Kim and Sandra go for a walk. Denise does feel vulnerable. She wants to know what they are thinking. The thing I have always loved about Denise is her ability to talk to people (she IS a therapist which explains why she is so good at it). But she doesn't come at people in a way that makes them feel threatened. She puts people at ease. She is likable. She doesn't scare anyone away. Even Sandra, who truthfully admitted to Denise that she would probably be the target, added that she is a lovely, wonderful person. Most unlike Sandra to be so kind. Denise decides that to play a humble game would be the best game. Inform Sandra and Kim that she KNOWS she needs THEM - and they don't need her. And finally they realize that Tony is still missing. "Is he in a spy shack?" A discussion of "split personality" Tony ensues. Then very suddenly, he shows up out of nowhere, claiming he fell out of a tree looking for idols. We see a conversation with all but Denis,e where they seem to convince Jeremy to vote for Denise with them. But Sandra isn't sure she is completely on board with that.... Has Sandra softened? Or was this her strategic plan to keep control of their tribe? She has this idol that is only good for one more night. It must be used. So certain was she that she was in no trouble, she opted to give Denise her idol in exchange for Denise's two fire tokens. The deal as Sandra made it was "You choose which of the two men go home; you do not touch Kim or myself." As this discussion is happening, Kim strolls up. Deflection time! "Oh how I'm craving cupcakes and cookies!" as Kim walks by. So funny. Denise takes Sandra up on this deal - with one caveat. She insists on giving Sandra only one token NOW; the other will come after TC when she knows for sure the idol is real. This was really clever for Denise - she gets to end up keeping one of the fire tokens. Tribal Council: Sele Wendell: "This is the season of pre-existing relationships. But for the game I will stab from the front and from the back to win". "Seems like people should appreciate someone being real. Even people who turned out to be disappointing in bed!"" Lots of discussion about this (fun to watch the tension between Michelle and Wendell). Which leads to Parvati asking Wendell if he'd like to do something..."If you want to." Parvati: "You gonna give me a name?" Wendell: "Nope." Parvati: "You want ME to give YOU a name?" Wendell: "Yep." Parvati: "Hard to take you at face value." Wendell: "I got nothing more to say" Weird exchange that got some confused reactions from the others. Vote happens: Parvati, Wendell, Wendell, Parvati, and... Parvati. Awww. Those of use who love and respect our "old school" players are sad. She bequeaths her fire tokens to Michelle... and off she goes to the E of E. But we aren't done yet... Tribal Council: Dekal Kim: "It's the threats versus the non-threats." Sandra calls out who she sees as threats and who she sees and non-threats. She lists Denise as a non-threat. Hmmm... Jeremy pitches that he should be kept for challenges. Denise says she will never be a challenge beast. To which I say... pshawwww. Of course you can, you "mighty munchkin of muscle" (Her false modesty was a good strategic move. Let the players discover her great challenge prowess later in the game - when its too late!) Not much more discussion that I care to mention. Because the outcome of this vote was... pure magic. Sandra was first. She DOES vote for Denise, fully believing that her idol will save Denise. She say at the urn "I know you're not going home tonight", suggesting she wants to be perceived as being a team player going along with the rest of the tribe. Denise DOES play Sandra's idol for herself. And THEN - much to the shock and surprise of the others - she pulls out the other idol and plays it for Jeremy. A chuckle from Denise. An uncomfortable smirk from Sandra. A pure laugh of joy from Jeremy. Tony looks stunned, and will continue to do so for the rest of tribal. Vote Happens: Denise (doesn't count), Denise (doesn't count), Denise (doesn't count), Denise (doesn't count)... and (only question now - who did Denise vote for?).... Sandra! Yes, Denise DETHRONES the queen and beats her at her own game. It is Sandra who is voted out and is sent to the Edge of Extinction. Oh, E of E should be fun next week! The only "old school" player left in the game is YUL. Can he Survive against all these new schoolers? Will one of the "old schoolies" win their way back in the game? Were we all just ecstatic to have someone other than Natalie win the E of E reward this week? What WILL happen next week? I don't have any idea because the video cut off before the preview! Oh well. Longer than I meant. But fantastic episode. Sad to lose Parvati. Not really sad to lose Sandra. Truly amazed by the greatness of Denise... so much so, lets make sure to find a pic... Well done, Denise. Well done!
Hello Australian Survivor fans, Now that the episodes are available to watch, thought I'd get the page up and running. The plan will be: 9 pm for episode 19 on Thursday. Episodes 20 and 21 on Friday, starting as close to 8 pm as we can. Lately there have not been many on hand to play. This might end up being more of a "discussion page" than a group watch page. I really don't think I'll be catching any of it till tomorrow night. Today is just too darn busy. As always, the rule for this page is: feel free to comment when you watch, but if it is before our "official" group watch schedule (see above), spoiler tag your comments to be considerate of those who haven't seen it yet. AFTER the official group watch time, you don't need to worry about it. Who wants to watch and chat this week's "Australian Survivor" episodes? Hello Survivor fans, Episode synopsis reads like this: "The immunity challenge weighs heavily on castaways when two tribes are sent to tribal council; one castaway is acting sneaky." What will the game be like now that Boston Rob has been booted? Will we get extra "edge of extinction" time tonight to make up for the lost E of E time last week? Well, you guys will know before me. I will miss the chat again... awwwww! But I'll be home around 10 pm. I will watch and recap shortly thereafter - though don't be looking for a long, drawn-out recap. I might not be up to that. Looking forward to seeing this episode; but very sad to be missing the party. Who wants to live chat "Survivor: Winners At War" at 8 pm? Hello Survivor fans, Aww.... The tribe swap episode leaves some celebrating, but others - like me - a little sad. But before we get into that, I'm curious about this: I pull up the CBS Press Express pics - and in an episode where we saw not ONE second of Edge of Extinction ... this is what I was met with first thing: Almost NO pictures of the episode we saw - but a ton of "Edge of Extinction" pics. Huh? Very curious indeed. Now lets try to read the thoughts of our outcasts. From the looks of them, Natalie is the only one having any fun ("Oh, I am SO hoping Boston Rob is the next to come here! It will be such a resume enhancer when I kick his butt at every challenge!") Quick... everyone "caption" the pics. I'd be most interested in what kinds of captions you all come up with. In particular, the Danni one. Curious expression on her face. Okay, I've had my fun. Now, lets proceed with the episode: Show opens at Dakal. Nick happy to lose Tyson... and even happier that Tyson bequeathed his fire token to him. "Still glad he's gone, but now I have a new appreciation for him." Nice, Nick. Next we hear Yul speaking: "I really like you all!", as we see one pic after the next of lizards. Yes, lizards. Not sure how to read THAT.... But then we see he is speaking to Sarah and Wendell. Sad sidenote: Yul is telling the two the tragic story of Johnathan Penner and his wife Stacy. She was diagnosed with ALS. So sad to hear of this. Yul tries to explain some of the hardships of the Penners and becomes overcome with emotion. Aww Penner. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Immunity Challenge Or so they THINK (haw haw haw!!) ..... Yes, it's tribe swap time. And here's the twist: we're forming three tribes of five! They are: Sele (blue) now consists of: Michele, Wendell, Nick, Parvati, Yul Dakal (Red) now consists of: Jeremy, Denise, Tony, Sandra, Kim (whew! No ex-lovers on THIS tribe!) Yara (Green) consists of: Rob, Sarah, Ben, Adam, Sophie Adam confessional: "I SHOULD be happy with this situation - but I'm not. The relationship with Ben, Rob and myself has become quite fractured." Dakal Camp Jeremy is truly impressed by this camp built by Wendell (well, to be fair, he did have SOME help). Jeremy is looking for cracks, and he thinks he's found one in Kim (no, NOT while she was changing into her swimsuit!). Denise has a chat with Kim and she agrees that Kim might be their best shot to get a majority over Tony and Sandra. Tony realizes that Kim might see herself in the middle and knows he needs to keep her on their side. Kim seems to be willing to go either way. She is not sure that sticking with Tony and Sandra would be the best thing for her. This will be interesting to watch. Sele Tribe Wendell "feigns" being impressed by the not-quite-up-to-his-standard shelter Sele has to offer ("My God, I've been in outhouses that were built better than this!"). Parvati finds out that Yul's wife loves her - she's Mrs. Yul's favourite player! (Parvati: "Yul, did she think this even AFTER she saw me vote for Ozzy on Cook Islands season?"). More awkwardness when Nick admits to Parvati she was his high school crush. But the MOST awkwardness comes courtesy of Wendell and Michelle, as we hear more about their past short-lived, didn't-really-end-well romance. Parvati: "I'm cringing for her. Can't imagine what it would be like to be on a small island with an ex. Nowhere to hide. Nowhere to go." Awkward... Small, uncomfortable conversation with Wendell and Michelle. Lots of awkward on this tribe. New Yara Tribe This is where it gets interesting. First of all, they must start from scratch building a camp. This tribe is not without awkwardness too. Ben knows that, on paper, being with a majority of his former tribe (Adam and Rob) SHOULD be a good thing. But the three of them are not exactly pals. In fact, they have all tried to vote each other out already. Sarah and Sophie have a couple of tricks up their sleeve. Sarah has the steal-a-vote advantage that she can use to protect herself and Sophie. The guys are not covering their awkwardness well. Sarah can feel it; she knows the three of them are not tight. She talks to Ben. Sophie talks to Adam. Then the two women go on an idol hunt - and they find one. Actually, Sophie finds it; its one of those "shared" idols that she immediately shares with Sarah. Poor Rob (I'm sort of chuckling at this)! Have we ever seen him (in recent years) at such a disadvantage? Some vulnerable words coming from him as he idol hunts with the "new school" players but realizes that this isn't the game he knows. "I'm not used to having more questions than answers. I'm used to having all the answers. And I really miss just being able to whistle and Mark Burnett would come running to hand me some idols. But this time I'm playing against tough players. Smart players. I've underestimated them. I won't make that mistake again." Immunity Challenge The challenge is: race through a series of obstacles. Use sandbags to knock blocks off the edge. Then stack the blocks so that there are no repeating colors on any side. It's all pretty even, but the new Yara tribe leads and are first to get to the sandbags. Sele is next. Dekal is the slowest because, you know... Sandra. Yara is first to get to the puzzle. But for some reason (that is quite confusing to me) Puzzlemaster Rob does NOT do the puzzle. Adam and Sophie take the lead. And... struggle. Sele catches up and starts their puzzle. Wendell and Parvati are doing it for them. Dekal finally catches up and it is Jeremy and Sandra on the puzzle. It is Sele who finishes first! With Sandra's rarely-mentioned-but-formidible puzzle skills, Dekal manages to catch up and place second, sending... ...the newly created Yara tribe to tribal council! Rob hates losing but feels optimistic. He assumes he is in the majority with Adam and Ben and that the three of them just need to pick which of the girls will be first to go. Even people who are watching the show for the first time recognize this as "false foreshadowing". Rob does talk to Ben and Adam. They shake hands on not writing each others names down. Adam thinks that Sophie is more of an asset: "We should vote Sarah". Rob agrees. But.. he wants to protect them from having conversations with each other by using the Buddy System. Which means that he, Rob and Adam should stay at camp ALL day. Adam hates this. "It's BORING! No one can talk. No one can play. If only one of us had the nerve to stand up to Boston Rob! But between the four of us, we do not have a single testicle!" Ben hates this too. "Rob needs to be in control of everything. Always mister tough guy. Boy, if he ever came face to face with an actual Marine..." he pauses for a second. "Oh, wait a minute..." Sarah: "Rob's energy around camp is so negative. His way of playing is to put us all in a playpen so that he can keep an eye on us but.. I'm sorry Rob. I'm not going into a playpen. Ya, I know if I don't do anything I'll be sent to the Edge of Extinction - but that's better than being in a playpen!" Yeah, Rob very much so miscalculated this group. They won't be playing this way. Sarah and Sophie break free to chat (we suspect this involved chloroforming Rob and it wasn't televised). Sarah feels that one way or the other, she can get the advantage to take out Rob. She will use her "steal a vote" if she has to. Tribal Council A lot of discussion comparing earlier seasons to this season. How does it compare to the last time that you played, yada yada yada. The girls play it up like they know they are in trouble. They know it will be one of them. A lot of chatter. Okay, let's get to the vote. Heh. Sorry, folks. I'm tired. And this dull tribal didn't help keep me awake. So the vote happens. Sarah does NOT use her advantage. Hmmm....does she know something? Sarah, Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob... Most of us thought this would happen a lot earlier than it did - it IS the Godfather himself! - but Boston Rob is voted out of the game. He bequeaths his fire tokens (two!) to Parvati before heading to the Edge of Extinction where I'm sure Ambuh is very happy to see him (atrocious breath notwithstanding). I admit... I'm sad to see him go. But he actually survived a lot longer than I thought he would, so.... Next week! We lose TWO players? Interesting.... And this recap will be a lot more entertaining once WM gets his hands on it... I promise. :-}} Hello Survivor Fans, It's Tribe Swap Time!! Ooh.. now how will this work out, I wonder?
