Hello Survivor Fans, The first of many expected teaser articles by Dalton Ross at EW was posted yesterday - and somehow I missed it! But, never fear. I'm here to get the conversation started today. So here is a link to the article, which includes a video of Probst explaining how the "Island of the Idols" will work. It's a bit different than I expected. Not sure what I expected, honestly...
https://ew.com/tv/2019/09/10/survivor-jeff-probst-island-of-the-idols-season-39/ After hearing the explanation, I am a little intrigued. I mean, it COULD be interesting. The article doesn't really say HOW a person gets sent to the "Island of the Idols". I'm assuming it will be one of those "one tribe wins and gets to send someone from the other tribe there" kind of things. My question: do they know before being sent there what they are being met with? At least the first one? Or is it a surprise? And if they are conflicted about going, can they ask for "divine guidance" and hope for a sign from their higher power(#KeithFromIsleOfExtinctionHumorThatYouKNOWCatloverDidNotWrite) ? No idea. All we know is that a person gets sent there. And it appears that Rob and Sandra work together, not separately, here. I could be wrong about this. They teach the person something. It could be any kind of skill they might need, be it making fire or something strategy. But the instruction comes with a choice. Be "tested" on what they learned - or "refuse to be tested". If they choose to be tested and WIN against their mentors, it will be worth an advantage in the game. IF they choose to be tested and LOSE - well "What a fool you were to go up against US (#StupidDunce) Now you are in trouble - here is how to recover." So that means.. no advantage at all then? OR, could the person could simply refuse the test? At this point, Rob and Sandra are given the freedom to "raise the stakes". To make the offer even more tempting, I guess. I assume if they refuse to be tested, no penalty for losing - but no advantage either? Maybe.... It sounds interesting to me. Now I'm willing to go in with SOME enthusiasm. We'll see how it goes. What do you all think?
