Hello Survivor fans, After an accelerated, grueling 26 days filled with new twists and advantages, castaways skillfully navigate their way to the final three, with one crowned the sole survivor.
I have been chuckling at the sorry attempts of Survivor synopsis-writing all season - why should tonight be any different? Also, there were two obvious typos there that I had to correct. Maybe they should hire ME as a Zap2It reality show author? Tonight's three-hour finale will bring "Survivor" season 42 to a close. Who will be the winner? Four players and one goat are still in the running: Jonathan, Lindsay, Maryanne, Mike Turner, and Romeo. I am still solidly rooting for Lindsay. But Maryanne played what may have been the best strategic move of the season last episode. Interesting, yes? We've spent all season teasing her, mocking her over-zealous enthusiasm that most of us found annoying to watch. But in the end, the game is about Survivor smarts, and we now know that Maryanne has some. The question is, enough to beat all the others? Certainly more than Jonathan, who can boast that he's a challenge beast and a great tribe provider - but when it comes to strategy, he's as dim as a post (sorry Jonathan! We still love you!) More than Lindsay? She's proven time and again that strategy is her strong suit, unlike fellow challenge beast/stump-for-brains Jonathan (sorry Jonathan!) Especially over Mike (although he's always been popular and might have many jury fans) and Romeo (being dragged to the final three as a goat. End of story). Who would have thunk it? When it comes down to it, little Maryanne provided us with one great move last week that may very well win her the season. But the X-factor now: how good are her fire-making skills? That could be a major hurdle for her. We know Jonathan has dragon heritage in his family that grants him the ability to start fire just by breathing on twigs. Mike is a retired firefighter (ironic that a man who spent his entire career EXTINGUISHING fire might win Survivor by STARTING one!) Could be formidable competition. And Mayanne's skills here are unknown to the audience. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Who wants to live chat the three-hour "Survivor finale" at 8 pm?
